PS. And the person who abused my friend, (who also happens to be my friend who I’ve known a long time…)
grew up in an abusive environment, the parents were abusive towards each other, and so this person thought (even has told me) that in order to feel love, there has to be abuse, has to make someone suffer in order to feel love.

I’d like to clarify, that I did not degrade her or put her down, but What I was saying and the Way that I was saying it…

It’s the good fight, regardless of direct outcome, either for ones self or for a friend.
I’ve been in situations where my friend has come to me over 20 times, crying over the same thing… I didn’t desert her and tell her to go away because ‘I’ve told you this already a hundred times and if you don’t want to listen and understand and do what you have to, well then go away because I can’t help you’
Although I did find that when it started making a difference is when once when she came to me, I started talking to her in a kind of degrading and putting down way, because she was in an abusive relationship, and that’s how she was used to being talked to for over years. (and I did that because I really felt she needed to be jolted out of her situation).
I found that this hurt her a lot coming from me, but it made a difference. It was after that that she started to be able to put more distance between the abuser and herself…
Although, had I done this from the start, no way, it would not be right, nor helpful.
No, because it is hard, to learn and to let things go, and one’s emotions, it’s a big big thing. Every person is different, and there is no way to know exactly what kind of situation or how exactly it all is.
People learn in their own pace, and if you’re there fighting for yourself or someone else, it’s only the good fight that matters, because it will at some point in time, make a difference.
I mean, when she would talk to me, of course it made a difference right there as well, because she would always feel better, but would get herself back in the same situation, and then be back again a week later….
