Thanks Breda. Indeed,The question came in my mind while walking in nature, near the river shore, and being spring now, everything is in bloom.Think thats why I linked to the idea of paradise, most of us think at the paradise as to a marvelous garden, where only good hearted people is to be found. But this is the image we hear about for years, from our parents, priests, it doesnt mean is like that. But maybe it is. I really do not know.

Dear Breda thanks to you!
You may find Cyprien Katsaris in the You tube too! Your, Irish pianist John O'connor is a very good one. I have found out that he had studied in Vienna with prof. Dieter Weber, who had been my prof. for the short period of the two years, I was there.
LOVE,
Thelma.

I agree with paradise being a state of mind in this life as a starter of one meal of endlessness courses. I cannot but believe this life gives foretastes of an everlasting paradise in the afterlife. All the suffering in this life, must be taken away, before a perfect ecstatic existence will appear. I need some tropical surroundings, and somebody who will love us with the perfect love, as really only a Deity can. I'm not there yet, but keep getting foretastes. Yummy :) Like Thelma's comment to me under the Inactive posting. Divine. Thank you Thelma. Your wonderful words belongs to paradise.

After 10 months in Tamale - a dry savannah area, I decide to stop, before my flight home, by the coast to glimpse the ocean. So long has it been far away; how much I have wished to hear the waves...
to reconnect the soul, after intense months of lack of personal space in a strange town...
I didn't need to see the cooonut palms of the infamous 'Gold coast' of days - nor walk on the white sand... "typical images of paradise"..
only some ocean, s'il vous plait ;o]
so I headed to the beach -
and hearing the ocean roar from afar ...
sending out a huge hug to the soul
bringer of peace.
just about to find that peace
and let the spirit drink from the healing power emanating...

but no, some hawkers come along to sell me their wares... i change my course but this provokes them and they then say "oh, why, you don't wish to speak to me... because im black.. and that i am a bad spirit".

i cry out... no: just some time with the ocean -
he didnt understand - called me a bad spirit...
suddenly, im not allowed to access my paradise... and am pushed into a mini hell , of pain.

im just a tourist here for them in their eyes...
im money, opportunity, a ticket, a passport or just the clothes of my back, the sunglasses of my head [now that ill be leaving and not needing them].. im surprised i still have even these.
...
just ten minutes i would have taken to soak the song of the sea up - but paradise was not to be granted this day. there is little chance to be or become anything here other than a tourist it seems, without a good ole struggle, or sacrifice of personal space.

[ i knew i should have waited until reaching the Devon coast, UK!! but what point is there in that, if there can be South Atlantic Ocean today!!.
it's so suffocating - to me anyway - no room to breathe...
and this extends not only as a tourist; but, as i turn from the beach i stop for food at the cafe; but here it is different.. expats and embroided lives. fortunes and treasures.... all watching and checking out other visitors...being on show etc et al.

why oh why... isnt this world big enough for two minds, two people?!!
without having to compete.
its suffocating also....

so im in the internet cafe, hanging out until i check in...
it is the one place - well, today anyway, that i can just spend normal 'me' time, without being harrassed.

so thanks and seeing Thelma's song suggestion, then also I'd say Adiemus - by karl jenkins.
paradise in chorus ;o)

Just recently I felt a sense of paradise in my waking life. I felt that I was in alignment with God, my purpose, my path. I felt a universal order that made me feel weightless and strong, brave, courageous. I am striving to be in that moment daily...one day at a time.

I am dying here now, in the god sense. The image that Savita shared, of the carrot-paradise...or we with fluffy withe dress eating grapes.I am finished.Dear Savita Vega, you have a really powerful imagination. But, your way of thinking is the right one,I agree.I remember the powerful expressive scenes that I have seen on the cathedral San Stephan in Viena, where one might "admire" the end in infinite tortures of those who behaved as sinners.Scenes were designed for people who might not understand reading, thats why are so expressive.Pretty scaring, the paintings might inspire lots of nightmares. That was the menace. The carrot...I dont know.

Sweet Alexandra.
so proud for your question was heard. It' really a good thing.
I had the possibility to study people came from NDE experiences, and they figure out Paradise in a very different way from what normally The Church says.
I found these descriptions very much interesting, and , what's more interesting, is that they were similar, even for people of different religions.
It would be an interesting subject for a book.
Could you write about it Paulo?
Obrigado.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear sweet Paulo.Indeed, the answer is outstanding, innovative. But,I recognize you in it.And,if I think at your answer, I realize how true your words are. This question was roaming in my mind these days, and ,I thought, lets ask mister Paulo Coelho, the wise writer.I was hoping, but not much. The fact you answered make me so happy now.A piece of paradise, right here, right now.God bless you always

Nice words here.Writer.

Paradise:a huge garden where people who passed away will walk along together,no suffering,no hunger,no thirst, just love and peace.Sometimes taking a trip to come and see us especially when we have an hard time or at occasions like weedings and birth, then going back in that garden,on a bench with that lake and nature, flowers and animals and angels walking by with smiles..

This is nice! Very well said. Though it is seemingly not a very common view that you hold, Paulo.

For long, I have spent much time considering the concept of "heaven" and "hell." No matter how I look at it, I find it thoroughly impossible to believe in the existence of hell, a place of eternal torment. But even the promise of paradise, I have come to question deeply, and for this reason: It is good to move toward God, to seek God, but if this movement is only for selfish reasons, motivated only by the fear of hell, or even by the promise of paradise, it is highly limited.

Just as the church sets eternal hell before us as a sort of threat, to frighten us into seeking God and "doing right," so too does it set before us the promise of an everlasting paradise, as a sort of prize to entice us. But if we move toward God only because of this promise, because we so want to enter paradise, then our movement toward God is selfish, motivated only by the promise of some gain, the attainment of some prize. In this way, the concept of heaven is like a carrot that is held out before us, dangling from the end of a long stick. We go after it, and in going after it, our movement is in the right direction. But the motivation is all wrong. It is not a motivation of pure love, but of gain: "What will it profit me if I seek God? If I seek God and do right, I will attain everlasting life in paradise." This is not love - this is desire. The two are not the same.

In the church that I attend, there is very little mention of the threat of eternal damnation, of the fires and brimstone of hell. If there were, I would not go there, simply because I refuse to be "whipped" into submission. But I have noticed that there is a great deal of talk about this prize carrot. And this troubles me more than a little. I don't mind saying this, because I think it is okay to be troubled, it is okay to analyze and consider the messages being given to us. This does not mean that I throw out the church, or even that I stop attending this particular house of worship. It simply means that I see the carrot for what it is - a prize held out on the end of a stick.

For me, heaven is not this - it is not someplace else, not essentially distant in either time or space. It is not some place where we will all one day meet to lounge about on white fluffy clouds, eating grapes. Paradise is her and now - in every moment that we exist. Paradise is nearness to and oneness with God. There is nothing higher than that. And if one has that, there is no desire for some place else, no want for what is lacking, because nothing is lacking. Nothing is unfulfilled. To seek God and to do right, simply because you want to feel that nearness of the Divine Presence, because you want to be at one with It in every moment - that is love, pure love, not love motivated by selfish desires for the attainment of some promised carrot on the end of a stick.

As I say, any movement toward God is good. For some people, the motivation to make that movement requires the threat of a burning hell and eternal torment. For still others, maybe it requires belief in the promise of a paradise to be attained after death. But I maintain that there is a third motivation, which is even higher, and that is when one ceased to believe in or even consider these propositions, these threats and promises of reward. At that point, when there is no other motivation than pure love, the seeker finds that he has entered paradise already. As the Warrior of Light achieves his Personal Destiny, he dwells in Paradise in the very here and now of each and every moment. Heaven is not someplace else.
