Stark walls. I think the words in this graffitti might be about addressing his or her own boredom or monotony, a quest for meaning, or adventure (color) in life. Thank you Paulo : )

Dear Paulo,
I noticed that everytime the subject is words, there are many comments about the word of God (Bible, Gospels etc.)
Again I think this relation between The Words and God should be made deeper.

I agree with what is written in The Bible, “there is a right time and a right place for everything”.
I don’t understand those who write on walls and make them dirty, and maybe those walls belongs to historical or “really artistic” buildings, just cause they think they are artists.
Art comes frome latin “ars-artis” and means “to make”.
So Artists in my opinion are those who do something clever or new, that brings something positive in this world.
If they don’t say anything important, clever, or positive, but maybe use walls to make writings that offend other people; if they are those who oblige the others to see their ugly pictures, it’s better they shut up and let the walls as they are.
After all, Verlaine said that “the white page means everything”.
love.

Dear Gina Re, yes I am Greek Orthodox and Jesus said: I am the Truth, The Life and the Way! He is THE LOVE. He showed us the way.. I agree with you.
I think that every religion is just … another way going to the same place, back to Paradise.
All the roads lead to …. Rome!! ;]
LOVE,
Thelma.

Dear Thelma I believed You ORTHODOX Christian like me!;-)
(for orthodoxy I intend the STUBBORNNESS to believe in the words of Jesus, I don’t intend religious fundamentalism)

The religion must be a VEHICLE to reach us the truth all whole. THE RELIGION is NOT THE POINT OF ARRIVE! :-D

It remembers this me to the Jesus words:

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a person it roams through arid regions searching for rest but finds none.

Then it says, ‘I will return TO MY HOME [soul] from which I came.’ But upon returning, it finds it EMPTY, SWEPT CLEAN, and PUR IN ORDER.

Then it goes and brings back with itself SEVEN OTHER SPIRITS more evil than itself, and they move in and dwell there; and the last condition of that person is worse than the first. Thus it will be with this evil generation.” [Matthew 12:43-45]

WHERE THEY HAVE GONE TO END YOUR “LEGIONS”, PAULO?

Dear Gina Re, thank you!! You made me smile remembering my Latin lessons at school!! The teacher used to ask me about this special quote always!! Then she used to use it in a metaphor about those who did not know their lesson!! Their… mind was blank! ;]

Regarding us we .. incarnate never being a Tabula rasa. Our past .. experiences are the …4/5 of our new personality and then we ..have to ..create or change our Karma with the rest.. We always carry our ..past debts until we learn the lesson of LOVE. [so I was taught ;]
LOVE,
Thelma.

Yes, the wall is asking for a MARK. But the graffiti is also saying that where there seems to be nothing, we can create something.
That is what we are – we humans – creators.

In reality, there is never nothing. Like the pauses you wrote about in The Zahir Paulo – the pause is something in itself.
So, we could leave the wall white, like a beautiful pause, or we can fill it with our creativity.

We need both. The immaculate pause, and the creative act.
Blessinsgs everyone.

We have a wall around the back of our home that has been tagged at least four times in tree years. Personally, I am amused by tagging and graffiti in public, as long as it’s not on my private wall! The city where I live have a great program against tagging. We just call the city, and they come and get rid of the ‘signatures’ for free (our last attacker had painted a swastika and written something about white power.) The big walls certainly are provoking, and I can understand artists wanting to soften up the harsh environment in so many cities. We will probably plant some flower bushes to try to avoid future taggers. On a Native American reservation nearby, there are no official reaction to the widespread tagging problem, and large parts of the area is tagged down and look like a ghetto. Adding broken glass and trash everywhere, it’s a horrible environment to grow up in. I have tried to present suggestion to the authorities perhaps to do something, and our office building, when it was tagged, got new paint the next day! Guess I’m for regulated tagging, to express creativity yes, but not wild aggressive graffiti encouraging crime and violence. I talked to a Native American tagger and he is so proud of his works. I thought he would be to old for it being close to thirty years old, but no, he runs around at night and tag his neighborhood to boost his self esteem!!

Well, I had a terrible head ache, and it happens very rarely. But the wall asking for a drawing made me laugh, and head ache just passed .
