My Blog

by Paulo Coelho on May 18, 2009

Three years of this blog this week.

It started with the Trans-Siberian back in 2006 and we are always trying to improve – and not simply invent something out of nothing – and craving for a better interaction between the readers.

I check every day and moderate most of the comments, I don’t answer because I want you to talk among yourselves but it is time to do something different. So, what is your suggestion for this blog after these three years together?

I am really open to your proposals and I also need your suggestions.

If you use twitter, I invite you to tweet about it using #paulocoelho.

bo0om paulo,
we should stop using names, just friend no. so and so for keeping the blog free from malicious content. this way we could all re-mold back to the concept of one organism, of humanity. We as one have got used to this concept of divide and rule put in place by some very egoistic organisms for their own benefit. Isn’t it time for friend 000 ( thats you paulo :-)).Feeling this name and myself that goes on with our consciousness is inhibiting from us becoming one.
may the force be with all of us, may the light shine in all our lives,
may we become aware of our oneness,

hello Paulo and my fellow Paulo Coelho enthusiasts!

Being a 16 year old caught up in the world of elder and mature people, I guess what would make this blog a little more ( if that is at all possible) interesting, would be the capability of the readers and enthusiasts to interact more with one another as well as with Paulo himself. Being able to share situations wherein personal opinions and social acceptance cannot meet with one another would be greatly appreciated and helpful. Especially when people around you are not quite familiar of acts and thoughts that are not made out of self interest.

I saw ideas about editing fan fiction and the trend you’ve explored in Experimental Witch, is something that should be adopted in the blog.

OK

So I have Barry White’s “Just the way you are” going around my head every time I try to think of this question:

But also the word LIVE, how fantastic to have meeting rooms/forums on a blog, discussions that are live, is technology up to it, I like the idea, as long as it is secure.

I love your Blog, the pictures, the stories, the debates, so thank you for this wonderful gift.

Dearest Paulo and Friends,

Points I feel you should improve on -

- The past archieves are often difficult to search through when looking for a specific story, question etc. Maybe add a search option within your blog for that purpose.

- When a reader comments on somthing, have the option to get an email of follow up comments if they want like some of the blogs do.

- Have a relm where readers can upload pictures on a daily basis, similar to the space provided for them to write what they please.

- I havent had time to read alot of the comments but skimmed through, i like the idea of a fiction story continued by readers, you being more interactive and the chatroom.
+ Think with the chatroom, you’d need to be registered and login into the site which maybe an option for regular users.
+ As for you interacting – Last your sometime on the barnes and noble website people were giving the chance to be interactive on a personal discussion space. Maybe you can offer that here monthly or so, so that readers are interested and interacting and it doesnt get too much for you.

Personally I’m very comfortable with the current state of this blog.. There are been improvements over the last couple of years and i’m enjoying watch this community grow and prosper.

I do think that you should look to develop the mobile version of this site a little more -

> You can only access two days of entries, maybe link a portal to past entries as sometimes i get caught up with work, and try to read in between but cant get more than the 2/3 days published.

> sometimes I don’t want to read all the comments – a ‘skip to page’ would be much a appreciated.

> personally, I like the mini updates of who gave their opinion on which subject like you have on the blog – maybe we can have that option on mobile as I often look forward to certain individuals comments.

I really enjoy the use of the mobile version. It’s very handy and these are a just a few imrovements I can think of now.

Thank you for being
Yajna

Dear Johanne Mercille,

I should have been clearer in my comment. By no means do I wish to stunt the psychic abilities in life. I was referring to it being difficult for 200,000 warriors of the light trying to communicate to each other psychically. It would be better if it were done one to one, so at least we would know who we were talking to! Thank you for your comment back.

I think change is always good to move forward. Every once in awhile, everyone need to change, e.g. your hairdo, your wardrobe and even your mentality to go in line with the changing world around you. Same goes with this blog. As it grows, it needs change.

Good ideas from most of the readers, and my suggestion again:
1. To create writing contest
2. To have direct reply to each comment so that the reader could quote directly to the one comment they would like to reply.
3. Chat Room – it’ll be good for those who come here often to reply to each other. Can be a fan club kind of thing as well.
4. Add button – for those who want to add certain readers to their blog list of friends or contact.
5. Change of colour and blog skin design every once a year. This is to create sense of renewal for each year’s new resolutions :)

Thank you and warmest regards,
Liza

Foodforthwart had a really good point that this blog is first and foremost YOURS…and that trying to please all of your readers’ requests might make this blog somehow less your creation, less true to you, by adapting it to the desires of others…that could be unfortunate.

That being said, perhaps upon reading all of the many suggestions (all of which are no doubt offered with respect, admiration, and gratitude for what you already do) it would be beneficial to only pursue those suggestions that would embellish and further the part of your Personal Legend that this forum satisfies. And when the omens appear to spur you forward…Maktub. You already teach us in so many “voices”…blogs, video, newsletters, texts. The pleasure is ours to watch you grow…thank you for what you do and for whatever you will do. “To thine own self be true.” -Hamlet

Gratefully yours,
Melyssa

Mr. Coelho, Reading your present, I sense what you are communicating. In action for a cause that makes sense deeply for oneself, energy of life flows in and nourrishes internally. Nice days in Praha! I feel (in french because I do not find the word that means this) “rejointe” (maybe the word “touched”) by your mission, your path. As the creator of my concept in Montréal, a house regrouping different “healers of the body, mind and soul” using different psychological, physical and spiritual approaches, I respond to this “appel” of transmitting the energy of believing that the one that comes to me in suffering has all the potentiel within itself, (and we know meaning with connected to the Source, more aware of the present moment, the present meaning of the experiment). I just created also a Foundation, bringing to the organisms of my collectivity the same ressources for those who can afford in private. I am telling you this because when I am following my path, what I call my mission, what makes sense to me, I am living with a passion inside me, a fulfilment, sensible to me in all aspects, nourrished … so nourrished that I have to stop and feed and rest because this energy is strong. And what is marvelous is that even when I touch this feeling of fulfilness, I still experiment and evolve further and further … that is the road to be closer to our “Verité”, to the one and truly “Vérité – Truth” that I am looking for. Yes, being and feeling that we are where we should be is truly an “orgasm” (I do not know what other word to write that describes the feeling). : )

Johanne Mercille May 23, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Kealan I read your comment and I think personnally that restraining or refusing the psychic ability to express is to forget one big inner force what is part of each of us and necessary for evolution of oneself … and again, in this domain, lies the “confrontation” … I think that in relation, in true relation, we seek to find out who we are and we are body mind and soul … Thank for sharing your thoughts, this gives me the opportunity to stop at what is inside me disturbed, ear it, be in relation with it, and listen to my soul and take position for me. And yes, again, one must be vigilant and responsible and most important, “in a conscious state of mind” when entering this free gift of Creation, this force that all Warrior needs. May the Source of Life bless you!

Vlw!

I really appreciate the way that through this blog you have a dialogue with your readers… through topics and via different angles: associations, responses, photos, and so on. but most of all, it is great to continue learning about what messages are behind your books and also your own impressions, associations and so forth.
i feel that this blog brings something of the stories within your books.. alive.
Hence, the journeying continues; and so to have had this blog alone – to connect with a great writer ;o) is an absolute treasure.
I am glad to have also found the blog online this last year.
i have learnt more about the place of writing and the power of stories/fables, etc, than ever before. The stories have transcended the realm of legendary celebrity to reach out and bring meaning to “”everyday people”" … and so conveying the REAL meaning of the stories.

Thank you for caring enough to even have a blog!!!

Hi Paulo,

I’m one of those who visits your blog daily, although I don’t take actively part as often as I’d like. I really enjoy your blog the way it is, there’s just one thing I find to be missing – a discussion forum. I’ve met so many interesting people through your myspace page and here, and I think it would be great if there was one forum where all of us could talk amongst each other, whereas at the moment the crowd is kind of broken up between various different websites and communities, where the discussions revolve around set topics.

Or maybe even if the topics remained set by you, it would still feel more discussion like, if the layout resembled more of a discussion forum, where eg. replying to a specific post is enabled.

It would of course be great to have you take part on the discussions as well, but I understand this can result into you having no more time to write books. ;)

Finally, Thank you so much for provding us this space to reflect on your questions and stories. It is much appreciated. Happy birthday blog! :)

Love, Liisa

Well, if you prefer your visitors talking among each other, why not implement a forum into your blog? If you cant implement a forum into the blog, why not make a real web site? It seems you have a lot visitors and moving forward by having a web site seems like reasonable step. It is not expensive (it even can be free, I have a free web site and the host is not bad), and web site can give you more possibilities (like Joomla CMS)

Paulo; While I deeply respect the clear responsibility you feel to your readers (this integrity is to me the greatest value in your gift to us); I nevertheless feel concerned that you might feel a responsibility *FOR* your readers. This is a burdon no one should bare and might harm you. If you never wrote another word you have left enough spiritual food in the world to feed all mankind for eternity. It is our individual responsibility to ‘eat & grow’. The creative soul needs space; time. If you commit yourself & feel you have to continually update your blog how can you do that?

Don’t get me wrong; this is a wonderful resourse and greatly appreciated. However, when you are re-designing please think first of your own needs.

Perhaps a discussion forum is something you could easily commission someone to create for you and I am certain there are many regulars who would gladly ‘moderate’ on a voluntary basis. This would free you to visit as and when you please but would not necessitate your constant presence.

You clearly value & enjoy the interaction with your readers and this is a beautiful thing for us; but please do not over burdon yourself.

We love you more than words can say.

- Espaço para os leitores que já tiveram e têm (ainda tem acento?)a oportunidade de conhecê-lo pessoalmente, de conviver cm vc, enfim senti-lo de perto; (É MUITO BOM TER UM ÍDOLO DE CARNE E OSSO);
- Retomar a exposição da mágica do caminho da Magia;
- Exemplificar casos de pessoas que também seguem sua Lenda Pessoal(tanto com histórias de famosos, quanto com histórias de anônimos);
- Preencher a lacuna da Bigrafia sobre seu caminho espiritual;
- Denunciar casos de Caça às Bruxas;

For mi this blog is the greatest place in the web. I love the stories you publish, the e-cards are incredible, the videos you publish make me think in a different way, i love the fact you answer the questions of the readers here. I think that you can probably tell the readers something more about your experience with your dreams, becoming a writer, and something more about the spiritual side of the life. I really love your book ” Brida” , and i would like to hear something more about our Other half.. something like that. Well , just don’t stop writing such incredible words. Dear Paulo,
I am thinking Unesco might open a door to us with regard to the education program – By that I believe we can participate and contribute to their programme. Please correct me if I am wrong, Paulo?
I like that very much.
We can start small. For example,
When I was in France I asked my Doctor (G.P.)_ by the way he is of Chinese descent, same as my GP here -. how many years of studies to become a GP. He said it takes 9 years of study, a Professor takes 10 years, just by talking with each other we can educate ourselves and see the differences.
Does this make sense?
The idea of starting an International Community Program appeals to me.
…. then again, you would have never guess….

Love :) :0) :;)

Feeling clucky?

Well, let me tell you what happened to me on my way to the market. I went on a big splurge.
After careful consideration,I bought two birthday cards from the “Smiles” program at WorldVision – my entire pension’s increase + $2.00 -When I asked what difference it will make to the child on the picture I was satisfied.
You see,the chicken has its purpose. It gives eggs. Two chickens -my preferred choice being the “Adam and Eve” of the Farm – yeah you get the picture – you clever little chicks -so that they can start a family,
bring more menure and provides the family to go ahead by making a garden and taking the fruit from the little independent “business entrepreneur” to the market.
Looking at it that way, I am glad I contribute to that project,
every little bits help.

How about you?
Visit WorldVision on http://www/worldvision.org/
and find out a bit more about it.
It is part of the Unesco’s education programme.
Building a better world together.
Love and don’t forget to smile :)

Hi Paulo!

Well first, your blog has been a blessing in disguise. The questions you pose often enable us to reflect on our lives and get to the core of what it means to live and be human. There are no words to express how grateful I am for your books and your blog. Now, I’d like to share suggestions that I think might make the blog experience even more rewarding. Based on the comments that the “Warriors of Light” have shared I believe that this community is formed by a creative talented and very international group. I think that it would be great to have a site section called, “A Window Into the Warrior’s Light” or something along those lines. This window would be a weekly special that would highlight different tradition, aspects or just quirks of what a select group of reader’s (from a certain region/country) feel that is the most special. It’s often from “locals” and not travel magazines that you get a feel for what a country is like. Perhaps you could even have readers include pictures or anecdotes about their trips to those countries. Second, I also think that in general people like polls (albeit not long boring one’s). It might be a good idea to have a reader’s poll once in a while that would pose a question to see if or how the reader’s responses might surprise us.

Ps. It would also be nice if we could somehow help you with your project with the children of Rio in Brazil. Well I really loved the ideas I read and hope that they can somehow be incorporated into the blog.

Blessings to All,

Carina
