Today’s Question by the reader : Paloma

Are all the feelings that guide you through your books the same ones that resonate in your life?

The feeling that guides me through my books is the need to share. In this perspective others are essential. As a writer I cannot write a book while being isolated from people. Books only emerge from this interaction.

  • Oh Lily, thanks for responding. For the encouraging words.Today is exactly a MONTH! we met last month on 24th.I guess life is teaching me to have more patience-sigh!Waiting,waiting,waiting…I really did find a book by the same name-Waiting by Ha Jin!!!in these two years.

Do you have a Soulmate yourself? Thanks for saying what you did about mine, who I think is mine.He doesn’t speak much-just my luck-i can be such a chatter-box.One of those deep, intense types. There I go again…

Carrots are good and I could teach you Pancha Yoga for the eyes!

    Take care,
    Sheela

  • Haha, I think so too, we are Pauloblogoholics, I’m glad I’m not the only one! :) I’ve been reading so much from the blog, from the computer that my eye sight is going out. I start seeing blurry, I might be lacking vitamin A. must ‘eat’ some carrots like them bunnies!!
Sheela, it’s beautiful the way you describe your soul mate, don’t worry, if you miss him and are thinking about him, soul mates always feel and sense it!
    love

  • Dearest Paulo,

I am so glad for you in my life, our lives. I feel alive and well, and happy being on your blog. Have been feeling that way since last year… And there’s something to be said for having met Soulmate again-I MISS him so much. Sharing a simple meal together and laughing over silly things was so much fun.Looking at him with love and not needing to explain anything.Just being together. Two lunches, two years apart! What a record-hahaha!

I checked out the E-cards just a while ago- hoping to send one to my friend in Dallas whose b’day is coming up on 26th.Couldn’t figure out how to send one though. But seeing YOU there, reading your quotes, well everytime I log on here, brings a smile to my face. The Winner ecards look grand, btw.

Thank you again for being my favorite writer(and of the others’ too)-Soulmate knows this and I am glad he’s read you too-
and for sharing your life with us. You know this reminds me of something I read in Thomas Hardy’s “Tess of the D’Ubervilles” The heroine loves this guy(Angelo? if my memory serves me right-read it a long time ago)and he is lovable all the more to her because there are these other women who also love him. I can relate to that wondrous feeling, on this blog.

Love that is Universal, not possessive, where you can share your thoughts, and kindnesses along the way.

Good luck with everything at Cannes.Hoping to see more videos of you there.

    Love,
    Sheela.

  • Hi Alexandra,

I really like reading your comments- what a bright, cheerful person you are! I realise I’m turning into one- a Pauloblogoholic! I ‘kept’ away from my bro’s laptop last night and buried my nose in my journal! But it didn’t feel the same. Came to this cyber-cafe and luckily there was a cabin that was unoccupied.

Savita, good luck with your book.Wonder what it’s about?

    Love,
    Sheela

  • Hi Savita, why did you need the power not to visit the blog? We are blog-alcholics? Ha ha ha…I must confess this thought came to my mind sometimes, but than curiosity to see whats new here was stronger. And I feel I learn from others experiences, from Paulos wisdom, This is not a thing to run away from. Maybe a big passion cant live with another big passion? You think that ?
In my case, no matter what I am doing, if I dont take some breaks I cant do a good thing. So,you take a break from book, and come on blog.
See you, good luck with your book.
    Love,Alexandra

  • I agree you don’t seem isolated…you are very much in touch with life and feelings and our lives and feelings which you generously invite us to share here,
    Love.
    Breda

  • Art only imitates life because of that interaction Paulo willingly engages. Interaction promotes inspiration.

  • Yes, I am feeling this myself at this moment! I have been trying not to write on this blog, trying to have the willpower not to even visit here, in order to spend my time and energies, instead, working on a book – a long-held dream of mine. What I am finding, however, is that something very essential is missing from my life. I cannot pluck my thoughts from out of mid-air. Writing, like all creative ventures, does not happen in a vacuum. It is people and human interaction that inspires me and drives me to write in the first place. As well, I very much miss the shared energy that is the very essence of this community. So, I will continue working on my book – no doubt – but I will be seeing you all here, as well, because here is where I find the center of myself as well as the energy that drives me to write.

    Much love to you all!
    Savita

  • Yes, as I write, I find it is a direct use of my emotions and thoughts, and how these come about to be, is the accumulations of my experiences with people.
Paul, what would you say is the one most important thing you learned on the camino?

  • Sharing is Caring.

  • Paul from Austria

Being the sharing type… I knew this… but the Camino made it all the more clear… sharing ads value… to everything… Love, Paul

  • You are not … isolated, dear Paulo Coelho. You are with us in every .. aspect and every … dimension! ;]
    LOVE,
    Thelma.

  • You are so open, friendly. I wonder if you were that way always,or the experiences made you so patient,a bright presence as you are today. Thank you for everything,Love
    Alexandra
