Watch out! Read the books by Sophie Kinsella, "Shopalcholic takes Manhatan", for example. But is a whole series of funny books. Fun fun, but one will see even the danger that lies behind that compulsive act of buying many things. Have a nice reading, bye
Love
Alexandra
Sparkle

Dear Rainy, your nice comment made me smile. Do you know now how many ..'similar thinking girls' will run after .... your friend's .. cabrio?? This is how it goes: desires and desires that never end.. But there are always people who have the same .. ambitions, dreams and values to keep him company. ;] And unfortunately they are the majority in our society: the system that Paulo Coelho has so vividly described in the 'Winner stands alone'.
LOVE,
Thelma.

My thesis: the more frustrated you are the more you need to satisfy yourself by buying something nice you don't really need.
A friend of mine is working every day from 7 am to 7pm. He thinks that he has to do it, otherwise he wouldn't earn enough money to survive. But, to my mind, he mustn't! The relation to his girlfriend got colder the last months. A short time before they separated, his mood went down...- that was the time he bought a gift for himself: a new nice cabrio. The effect was that his mood flew high, but it didn't rescue the relationship.
Now he is alone and there are two more sad and lonely souls on this earth...

An article about Twitter used an expression I haven't seen before, catching my attention; 'Social Alchemy'. I looked to see what inspired this expression, and can only track the use of it to Australia. Social Alchemy seems to mean something like the art of social transformation, and has been used to promote changes in organizations. The term hasn't yet been given a definition on Wikipedia, as far as I can find. And, I don't see any connection to the novel the 'Alchemist'. However, surfing around to see what Social Alchemy means, I ended up on alchemy in general and found this Latin connection; Ora et Labora, work as prayer. So, to conclude; Social Alchemy might mean social transformations as prayers?

I just read over The wounded by love Agreement; and I have to say I agree... it is an important writing that has help me to move forward a little and get some understanding of myself and everybody else in the world!

I read this when it originally came out and did not understand; now I do understand; and now I have lived.

At least I got the 47” flat screen TV & surround sound and the Persian cat. No children or marriage thank god!

Thanks dear Nancy.
Well about herbs , here happened some weird things. Even if the herbs were no drugs, some young boys men took the herbs and made sort of cigarettes . They arrived in hospital with the same reactions as to a drug. Now some shops will be close. The herbs were for smell, as incense, not for smoking. But the boys understood else. Now I am going to see your music Santhos, thanks. See you soon, bye

Alexandra, I just hope that the smart from the Parliament is wise enough to do something very important with the money they are getting from the new medical fee. Something the people in your country really needs and will improve many people's living.

Your last line made me laugh.

.. with the codex alimentarius, herbs, vitamins, minerals and supplements will not be available freely...
and reclassification will take place, as drugs...
but this could lead to control by the large pharmaceutical companies...
What then for traditional healers, alternative theraphies...
... herbal tea even?!
Is this the future of health care?
where even our own choices for health - our soul/mind/body is determined by forces beyond one's own scope.

It's a crazy world.
In the Uk it has been of course - all dumbing down.. to the lowest common denominator... to be fair and equal to all, in order to be so-called accountable and responsible...

common sense gone awry.

The world is a crazy place sometimes...
yes Christina I agree that the vogue of fashion [or any other product in that matter] has made generations THINK that they HAVE to pay a certain price for a shop purchase.

I wish someone would whisper - no, tell them.. prices are a "daylight robbery"... it is a disgrace.
By paying MORE... is that a PRIVALEDGE?? well.. not when many products are rarely BETTER quality and UNJUSTIFIABLE.

----------------------------------------------------

I am also wondering what the reality of the status of Tibet is right now after some legislation passed over 2008-09.. i am unable to find the information.
....................
The Codex Alimentarius is also another contentious issue I have heard about this week.
It's about where herbs, vitamins and minerals will stand ... which appears that they will NOT be allowed to be sold... and that supplements should be reclassified as drugs... and thu

I found this description of the use of the circle very beuaitful ;o)

"We regard the establishment of the Embercombe Council as an important foundation stone in our efforts to establish a robust, ethical and innovative intentional community.

The concept from which the idea of our Council emerged is called “The Circle of Law”.

The Circle of Law
There are indigenous peoples who offer us a model of community that resonates with Embercombe’s mission; to touch hearts and minds, “inspiring committed action for a truly sustainable world”.

Imagine a circle of people. Around the circle sit representatives from each of the groups making up the tribe; from hunters and War Chiefs to artists, singers and poets. Around this circle also sit representatives from the mothers and the young people who straddle childhood to adulthood. Imagine that, for each of these represented groups sit two people; one woman, one man - female balancing male - the equal democratic representation of all peoples comprising the community.

In the centre of the Council Circle burns a small fire - the Children's Fire. The Children's Fire keeps the Council mindful of the tribe's children as they deliberate on issues important to the tribe. Looking after the fire and guiding the Council's process are four elders; two women and two men. These four wise elders have no voting rights but posses the power of veto and guide the process of the council. They, too, are selected by democratic vote within the tribe.

Such communities did once exist,- a very few may still"

I think I am going to be so angry. The smart from the Parliament hit again. They arrived to say in tv we all must pay the doctors or the treatment, even if we have payed all our fees, because " people must realize that medicine is expensive".As if one goes to the hospital to have bit of fun, bored.

Well. I see my message now.
I wanted to write about prices and values.
Many times I see that, especially in western society, prices and values are completely illogical.
Take for example some clothes, or techological goods; the aren't worth their prices, but people fight for them, and some steal or even commit robbery to get those things (so is written on newspapers).
When I spend some times alone,an idea often comes to my mind: what we pay is often illogical for what we get.
Again.
What we get is often illogical toward what we really need.
This situation reminds me that maybe me may feel "obliged" to give a high value to illogical goods or principles and so, this illogical behaviour can lead to illogical behaviours (feel nervous, etc.).
What do you think about?
let me know, thank you.

I wanted to write about prices and values.
Many times I see that, especially in western society, prices and values are completely illogical.
Take for example some clothes, or techological goods; the aren’t worth their prices, but people fight for them, and some steal or even commit robbery to get those things (so is written on newspapers).
When I spend some times alone,an idea often comes to my mind: what we pay is often illogical for what we get.
Again.
What we get is often illogical toward what we really need.
This situation reminds me that maybe me may feel “obliged” to give a high value to illogical goods or principles and so, this illogical behaviour can lead to illogical behaviours (feel nervous, etc.).
What do you think about?
let me know, thank you.
