Jasmine

  • Jasmine was really guilty when she was too coward and let murderer free with her testimony at trial. But she was so young, imature, so must be forgiven. She lived with the guilt leading her to depression, and the meeting with her agent changed all her life. I am not really used to women relations, in my country is not well seen, so I dont know how to tag such relation. Sincerily I think a man woman relation is still the right one. Is my opinion.
But in the novel seemed that worked better than for the “normal” couples, and strange the young woman confessed the feelings to the older one…
True love had the better in the end. I respect your ideas, even if my views would be different( I talk about same sex relation, that I cant really aprove, sorry sorry sorry).

  • Namaste Sr. Coelho,
I found Jasmine the ultimate realist. She looked life in the face and made choices accordingly. Her ego wasn’t wrapped up in the superficiality of her surroundings. She was the complete dichotomy of Igor. I respected her more than any other character in the book, I think.

    Love to you

  • Yes, you’re right.
Jazmine wasn’t egoist and opportunist at all. On the other hand, she turned her back to the superclass to follow her heart and be with the one she loved. She represents the true love of someone who values a human being, no matter what could be left behind.

  • Jasmine and her partner are the triumph of love over the unknown dangers of the world of Glitter and Glamour.

  • Jasmine:

Egoist, young, strong she will find way to reach her dream, as matter of fact she with her opportunism already did it once and will do it again.

Love ….I do not see it realy as love more like sudden opportunity veiled with emotions of love. I would not like to be her companion, especialy not some years after.

I prefer Gabriele who is more true, Christine invented her new name Jasmine Tiger while Gabriela have to be told she need new name and she never indentify with it (Lisa Winner:)

They both made me think about lots of names:
    Angelina Jolie
    Mini Driver
    Kate Moss
    Laetitia Casta
    Courtney Love…

    Nomen est omen !

Luce i completely disagree with your perception. Jasmine is not egoist and opportunist, maybe you haven’t finished the book yet because in the end you can see how she chose to be with the person she loved, her partner, instead of with Hamid, even if he was going to make her famous and rich. She rejected the offer at the end and stayed with her partner, how is that egoist? if she was ambitious and care only for her ego she would have gone with Hamid and become the face of his brand, gaining fame and money.

    What do you guys think?

I completely agree with you. The character I liked best in the novel was Jasmine, because she stayed true to herself and who she really was, and did not let herself be overwhelmed by all the glitz and glamor. Gabriella was not as strong willed as Jasmine. Think about it, they both had huge offers from Hamid in the same day, which could change their whole world, take them from unknown to famous and important. But Gabriella was overwhelmed with all the outer appearances of the bizarre new world she was pushed into unprepared.

Do you agree or disagree ?

  • Jasmine is complex. She shows strength but she is young and is also selfish. She really wanted to be a vet but she lacked courage to stand up and say who committed the murder. She saved herself in one sense and in another she lost her dream.

  • Jasmine is the winner in my view because she has love all above everything else.

I completely agree! She is the winner, she chose the love to be with her companion instead of with Hamid, even if he was going to make her famous and rich.
