From my understanding of reading all of your books, you believe that sex is some type of a gateway to God, sex is not a sin, sex is encouraged, etc. But also, you have written in your books that Jesus was ‘conceived without sin’, I know that it’s from the bible, but doesn’t that also suggest that sex is sinful?
Sex is never sinful as long as people are treated with dignity and the moment is apprehended in its sacrality. Concerning the “immaculate conception” – it is metaphor, a symbol that expresses the embodiment of God in our material world. The fact that Jesus was “conceived without sin” refers to God’s untainted descent to our world.
Sex is this sense – refers to our material descent. Unlike Christ’s.

Dear Aditya, in the Pilgrimage there is the distinction between Eros (Passion, more or less) Philos (Friendship that may happen also between two friends and that doesn’t necessirly involve sex) and Agape (love that burns, that give us enthousiasm). The ethimology of sin is “wrong goal”, i.e. we direct our energy in the wrong direction.
Now.
God can’t be wrong (otherwise he/she’s not God);
we may be wrong in our activities included sex or Love, not always because we aere mean, but also for we are not enough prepared to Them.
sex is just one step.
If we live that step of our life honestly, we can’t be wrong, cause we have followed our nature and our path.

sex is of two types one is where lust is the governing motive, lust is sinful ! even the normal love that we know of is camouflaged lust !
but then sex is purely out of love too, one loves a woman so much that just to have a child with that woman, and also to keep this whole creation going, a person may have sex. then it is not sinful, maybe this is the direction in which we need to look to understand immaculate conception – my opinion 1

Aditya, I don’t know who would think that sex is sinful, I honestly don’t think it is… but I don’t think it’s healthy to have or even think about having sex with whoever enters our world, or whosoever s’ world we enter into. Can’t help to think that the sentence, “Sex is never sinful as long as people are treated with dignity and the moment is apprehended in its sacrality.” might be a justification to feeling this feeling for whoever flashes a little flesh…

yes i too feel, a tinge of need for justification there. agree with you 100 % on what all u have written above, that sex cannot be an end in itself, if it is, then one needs to be look back. aboyt sex being sinful, it has been programmed into human psche by preists and politicians, it is easy to control people who have repressed sexual ‘desires’. a person who is sexually satited does not dream of waging wars, or for that matter even doing ‘hard work’.

But I dont understand now a thing. If we were created without sex, why than we need sex to go on? But I think those are things our mind cant contain, so great mysteries.
Many times sex are presented as a tabu, by parents or society, and therefore some might come to that idea,of sex as sin.
The opposite is also there, sex everywhere and in any way, just make a sensitive person to have a bad opinion about it.

Dear Paulo, I have just returned home from a .. funeral..
I remember the article .. I know it is .. science. Thanks to the DNA tests fathers now know if they are the ‘real’fathers.. Before it was a ‘must’ and a compliment to say that the child looks like the .. father! It was an assurance .. Even the Divorce Laws in my country that were based on Religious Courts [have changed recently due to our going into European Union] the couple could not marry earlier than a six months period, so that they would secure the paternity of children.
Monogamy = μόνο + γάμος Polygamy = someone who is .. married with more than one woman. In certain religions it is allowed [ Muslim - harems] This regarding different cultures..
Dearest Paul, of course we are capable of loving more than one person, but this is not EROS!! We all know the passionate feeling that drives us towards the loving person, the desire to be just with him/her, the need to ..offer him/her the ‘flowers’ of your heart, your thoughts, your ‘everything’. If in this ‘dance’ your desires find a respond and the other person does not fail in fulfilling the expectations then there is no desire for being a .. swinger! Maybe this is an .. illusion, but at least we can .. dream and think twice before acting.. At least not .. being at the same time with different people, cheating, take advantage of the other person’s affection and/or money, position.., living .. parallel lives.
Because we are not .. birds or animals with just instincts! This was my position. To be human beings. And may we be given the gift of feeling FILIA, AGAPE, EROS for the same person and have the happiness of the same LOVE in .. return.. Because without it we are … nothing. We are and feel ..half .. I am sure that just sex is not the path to Paradise. It is an act the … lasts only ’11 minutes’ and then you feel … lonelier than the loneliest human being thrown on Earth.

thelma, that is brilliant answer. i think people are capable of loving many people but it don’t have to be necessary the same as the love to our better half. Thus I believe monogamous isn’t illusion.
