Maybe many of us are similar in the way we aproach our personal legend, we hessitate for a long time and then at a crucial moment on our lives have to decide to live that legend or fade in to routine and what others, (people we love, or people we care about what they think about us) expect us to do with our lives.In my case i spent almost 15 years wishing to paint canvas, i learned to paint at 24 yro and then left it to finish my career as an architect and have been working as an architect for a long time, i love architecture,its like my craftsmanship and has fed and dressed me, but i longed for the time when I draw and pait and felt like a fire inside when i did that. Now after 15 years i finally decided it was time to lose the fear to painting and at my pace im starting to paint again, i ended my fist canvas after a lot of hessitation and struggle at first and it was fantastic, i was so happy to mix the colors,now im working on my second canvas and hope to paint many more, I dont know if my paintings will ever be sold or famous, all i care is that people sees them, its another fear i have to show my work to the public and im working on that. my personal legend was ever helping others- since many years ago when i was just a child i would help old people and any one who needed help,
now a days i help at the hospital twice a week in recovery room as a volunteer and i help people by explaining them the importance of prevention- by taking care of one- doing the rite medical tests and the rite eating and more- i invite spekers to my house to talk to others. and it really feels amazing- and i love this life story of mine

My Personal Legend is to work at the international level for social causes such as the economic development of Latin America and relations between the U.S. and its colonies…possibly something dealing with the Middle East too. After I have accomplished some of my ideals I’d pursue spiritual development and teachings full-time. I want to leave a legacy of social work, spirituality and human unity. I want to save the world piece by piece. Though, I may not be able to do a 360 degree change, I’d definitely influence enough people to carry on with my legacy after I’m gone.

I still don’t know what is precisely my personal legend.
I’m happy when I do so many things; painting, singing, discovering new landscapes and so on.
I’m having a doubt: and if my personal legend should be to find my personal legend?
I hope the Universe will help me.

Thank you Mr. Coelho for your authenticity. I am at this moment surprised to see similarities between us … my personal legend has always been since a child to help others, be a healer for those whose suffer rejection of their difference, isolation, fears. I was caught in the “drug world” as a teenager, still helping although as I could. I was a paralegal for Justice Department, an assistant for stenographer in Courts, then a mother and wife full time, a member of church and all the tasks that were “demanded” to undergo, still helping others … At 39, I was put in front of a choice, to live or die, and I decided if I lived to follow now my path, since I understood that I had now all I needed personally to help the others lost. But I had to find my answers … so I went to the road of discovering really who I was, put light, confront the dark in me, etc … I promised myself on that day of “rebirth” that I would at 40 be ready … and at 40, I went to get the formation I needed to make my dream of helping others come true. Now, at 47, I am there … I would have love not to suffer that much, but I had to to become the “helper” that I am today. And you know, just by saying this, I have a prayer of joy for my God!

yes indeed paulo u have always been a teenager, at least the twinkle in your eyes say so, even if those white beard tugs in a diffrent direction, for me u are and always will be a teenager eger with life.

It took Jesus 30 years, before he decided to dive into his personal legend, which lasted 3 years! A carpenter for 30 years…a prophet for 3 years. Unfortunately, here in U.S. people go to college for 4 years to acquire the training for a career that will last 30 years, most still not fulfilled.

I appreciate the time it has taken Paulo. His writings reflect so much wisdom, that he has experienced, rather than what comes from a textbook.

My Personal Legend is to be a writer about spirituality, like Paulo Coelho. It was my secondary school teacher, Ms Candy To, who helped me discover this important part of me.

In college, my West Indian Literature commented, “I think you write very well!” It was then that I decided to pursue a career which can make use of my writing skills.

Three years have passed and it is the fourth time that I apply to University. A few days ago, I asked my sister, “If I can’t get into University in the coming September, what shall we do?”
–We’ll see then.
–If University application is unsuccessful this time, perhaps, it is time that I start my Writing Career.

What is that fascinates you about being a writer, dear Paulo Coelho?
To be in tune with other’s ‘realities’ and speak about it? To try to offer other .. ‘options’ to people, looking and living life? To pass on teachings from your own ‘reality’? The happiness of ‘up-loading’ your experiences on paper? Are you enthusiastic while you ‘live’, as you have put it, or happy the time your ‘life’ becomes the ‘new born’ baby?
Why do you believe that the Pilgrimage to Saint James has helped you to recognize your path? Does the Pilgrimage offer the same crucial inspiration to anyone walking it? So many questions today!!.]
