today i want to talk about the concept of happiness in our lives…what makes us happy,is it the affluence of wealth…wisdom ,knowledge or spirituality..i really know a few who r content with their life…happy to be what they r..many of them r saints whom u can see in every village in india but they dont inspire me to be like them..its very easy to runaway from society on the name of meeting god…but it is better to face them and conquer them…
when u admired someone named mata{sorry i dont remember the name} i felt a bit dissapointed that u r also trying to get the wisdom of god in this way…
dont take me other way… i believe u r wiser and more experienced than me…”but what i firmly believev in is that life is all about living it for others, never asking for anything in return.”
and thats the true idea of being happy and content…
but how can we cserve the humanity…we all know when we were young what is the thing we would like to do in best way in our lives…
but most of us due to ignorance of their feelings and pressure of society and family leave that way of life..thus when this happens with most of the humanity most of us get dissatisfied with our lives ,fanally leading to misery and negative energy in society..
this i believe is te root cause of most of the problems in the world as we cant take our job as our interest…
i read the following in a book by paulo coelho-”when i die, bury me standing bcoz i have spent my whole life on my knees”
i will say taht it means that i spent my whole life accordig to the rules laid by society, educatio system, family and the trades and trends in world,so when i die atlest then let me do what i want as my whole life my heart wept for freedom and power,to do what it wished ,to say what it thought.
Have u read the quote-”i was born intelligent but education ruined me” i highly agree with it…bcoz the prime aim of education isnot to teach what our ancestors have learnt but to ignite the fire to discover and search for the facts and learn them on their own,to find the world in their wn way so that their creativity is retained and they can bring the changes they want to…emotions r the master, reason is the servant.
once Einstein only said that mankind has been given the gifts of intiution and reasoning, while intiution is the master reason is the servant to it but unfortunately people have forget vthe master and accepted the servant.
our education snatches our ability to percieve things in our own way and if we do we r not strong enough to say it to others as they will consider us mad….
i see god is nothing but love ad its very siple, simplest of all bt we cant see through simple things as we view them useless..
u told me about youth in america, but what u ever thought to do for them out of pure love and proud of them as ur fellow countryman….im not criticizing u but this is te question each of shuld ask to ourselve for finding the true happiness i our lives..
im bunking my classes right now but i feel that i will not get punished bcoz god knows im doing sumthing out of pure concern t my people…
i have this concept of god with me..i dont want power or a reputation but a satisfaction that i did service to y nation when i got a chance..
okk plz reply on mail if u can..that will be better

Awesome – Feel the Love (an old entry that I love from my ‘hidden’ blog)
I was checking out one of my favorite blogs: Spiritual Cowgirl, and she had this brief post asking for people to listen to love songs (healthy ones, take note… not the “go suck on an egg” kind) and think of this as the Universe singing to you.
And then in the comments, robynne posted about the song by Matt Nathanson, Come On Get Higher.
Yes! Read the lyrics below, and pretend that the Great Creatrix is singing just for you, wooing you, seducing you to wake up and live with passionate equanimity. Where in your life have you let go, forgotten, shut yourself off, given up, walked away, unyeilded, refused to “drown in love”, refused to speak out…stopped dancing and strutting and pulling LIFE down hard into the sweet damp grass and kissed It hard and full on the mouth until your lips tingle and your heart skips a beat and you can’t see for the stars in your eyes…
Life is begging you to drown Her in your love.
Ohhhh, yeahhhhh.

Blessings on all roadsl thank Mr Coelho, many times over for your dedication the humane spirit,

Words I should of said
yesterday
Brought forth my actions of
today
I need you to hear the things
I must say
I can’t stay with you another
day
Now I must go and be on my
way
For it’s been to long and I have
shed to many tears
My trials and tribulation I did
face
Now the lord shows me his
grace
I can’t put off tomorrow what needs
to be done today
I tried to love you believe me
I did
From myself I realize I have
hid
The love that my heart could not
resist
How was this something that I’ve
had missed
My heart I could not give to
you
And I know it must make you
blue
You probably don’t even have a
single clue
Who holds the key to my heart
Sorry but the person is not
you

A few words
I want to let of thinking you
I want the autumn wind to take your members and those fly to other station
My brain knows that you do not have any future with me
But my heart does not understand it
It continues searching you
Oh my little sun, help to forget you!!!
Dear Ro, beautiful and melancholic.. Thank you for sharing.
LOVE,
Thelma.
Ummm…. I don’t know if this is the right space to say it, or Mr. Paulo Coelho ever replies to the comments on this page, but I would just like to say that I am a big fan of your literary works, and the weekly (Sunday) articles you write in the Mail Today daily. I never miss reading that very same section every Sunday, no matter who or what demands my immediate attention. With reference to your books, I have read only two, and my thirst has increased for more. I don’t know when I will get the time, but I have made it a point to finish all of them. Keep up the great work. And thank you.
I appeal to all teachers to grab the opportunities offered to them by technology to enhance teaching. Here follows and extract from my latest blog posting (http://www.e4africa.co.za):
A few decades ago Computer Aided Design (CAD) software packages became commercially available. CAD programmes automated the drawing of technical diagrams. The software made it possible to draw diagrams in a few minutes that previously took draughtsmen hours – if not days – to complete, and with greater accuracy.
Surprisingly, many draughtsmen resisted the use of CAD software, feeling that it posed a threat to their careers. They’ve spent years developing drawing skills – if computers were to be used to draw diagrams, what were they going to do?
Some farsighted draughtsmen accepted the change and learned to use CAD software. They discovered that it took the drudgery out of their jobs and allowed them time to focus on higher level design tasks. For them CAD proved to be a productivity boon.
Today practically all technical drawings are done by means of CAD. Those draughtsmen who did not embrace technology were phased out over time.
Educators are in a similar situation today. Technology is changing the face of education but, sadly, some educators are not prepared to accept the challenge to learn new skills. It is not as if they are scared of technology – they fear that technology will take over their jobs. If computers are used for teaching, what will teachers do? They resist technology because they see it as a threat to their careers.
Visionary educators behave differently. They embrace opportunities that allow them to elevate their personal involvement to a higher level; technology enables them to be true facilitators of the learning process, while using computers for more mundane things such as admin tasks, drill and practice and the dissemination of learning content.
Where will educators find themselves in a decade from now if they do not adapt to a mode of education where technology plays a significant role?
Remember what happened to the draughtsmen!
I am a twenty-three year educator learning new technology to teach Language Arts to high school students. The answer is to embrace each technological advance with our children. Grasp it with a positive frame. Technology is a gift from God through us. Each time a new apparatus comes out, approach it with wonder. We were sent to this earth to learn how to create and better our lives with what we are given. Sometimes we have plenty – Sometimes we have famine. Students need to also learn how to get by without technology — all sides need to be covered to truly live, love, and be happy while we are in our transitory phase on this earth.
aw paulo u are the supper tech dude, i just saw the climbing mountains mannual, too cute!!
Carolena Sabah –

I am just finally on a broadband connection so can watch the video entries without static!

Thank you dear Cat! As my dear friend and talented filmmaker, Tadeh Daschi, says… we put our blood, sweat and tears into it!
Bless you!
A student from Cambridge University wrote a paper which, in his opinion, included a lot of original and interesting thngs. The paper was brought for the tutor for criticism. The tutor read the essay and said:” Your paper is both interesting and original.Unfortunately the interesting part is not original, and the original part is not interesting”
;o)
I remember hearing about a university student’s exam paper answer to the question: what does it mean to be brave.. to which the student had merely written “This”… leaving the exam room well before the 2hr time whilst fellow students wrote and wrote about the nature and intensity of braveness.
… the student by the way.. was given a First [A+]
Just goes to show what braveness is!
Dear Angela,
When I look at professional sports (and the sums that these people are paid), as well as when I look at the prominent roll sports are given in our institutions of higher learning, and even in high schools, I feel that I am watching some science fiction movie where, as you say, the world is upside-down. We, as a society, lament the sad state of our educational system, and yet we are willing to pay a football coach ten, twenty, even thirty times more than we pay the very best of our teachers. I understand that many people enjoy watching sports, and I also understand that the player’s careers are limited, but neither of these facts, in my eyes, justifies the perverse sums of money that these people make, nor our continued willingness, as a society, to support such a system. Just imagine if we paid our artists or our writers or our musicians equivalently! Just imagine what our society might be like if we put half as much emphasis and financial support into the arts as we continually pour into spectator sports! I don’t really fully understand the deep sociological mechanisms behind our obsession with sports or what this indicates in terms of our social psychology; however, I view this frenzy as an implication of a very deep sickness within our society, a sort of social pathology. Our society is ill and these inordinate sums such as you indicate – these perverse salaries – are only indicative symptoms of that illness.
I have just updated my blog. Here it is:
I was staring at the sky in my balcony, suddenly a thought struck my mind.. Newton Rules My Life. Let’s not misinterpret I’m going to talk something scientific.
I presume, you too remember Newton’s third law of motion. I’ve quizzed hundreds of people and everyone was able to tell me in some form. If you can’t recollect.. you too quiz someone. You will get the answer.

Dear Paulo,
On retirement -
Governments want us to retire later (67-70 years).
WOW! That’s great, that’s what I want too.
Statistics show that quite a few people are made redundant from age 50.
If you are lucky, you get a generous superannuation package.
If not, you have to face the music and enroll at your closest Social Security Services Offices for the Unemployed.
Not only do these people suffer rejection, the shame and hoplessness of being rejected by Society, but their knowledge is brushed aside and a whole generation branded :”vegetables”.
Out of that, self-esteem issues arise and health problems ensue.
I guess the pharmaceutical industries are pleased about that.
We know that when interest rates go up, the fixed incomes (pensioners, any one that is unemployed, students, etc) are the ones that are being affected. The $10 increase a fortnight has already been spent onto electricity, water charges, etc. not mentioning the our basic staple the – food products -.
The ones that have been made redundant at 50 are using their superannuation money as per the laws. By the time they reach the age of 70s, there is nothing left, they have spent it on their children who are studying and want to give them a help. They have spend it on their parents, as they are getting older and need to be looked after trying to find a retirement home that will be suitable for their needs. That costs money as well-heaps-
It seems that Governments have forgotten about planning for retirement for the aged. Not for themselves, I have noted. Strange is not it? Charity starts at home I guess.
It is going to be very interesting to see how governments are going to tackle this situation.
Are we all going organic? Which, I must mention is the natural way, however costs an arm and a leg??
Oh well, so many questions unanswered from another lost generation.
Angela – you are a little angel -
There is a very good book at the moment by Paulo Coelho, a Brasilian author, I think he deals with that subject beautifully. It is called “The winner stands alone”.
It is a “must” . Once again, it is only my opinion.
Lots of love and XXXX and keep on :)

I saw a comic in tv saying that is a good idea.Because if a woman find a job at 60, so she will work five years.
I found this quote for us:
Be yourself:
If you exaggerate your good qualities and hide your faults, people will soon realize that you are not presenting a real picture.
It’s important to be yourself.
Are you ticklish? Do you give your brain a few good ‘tickles’ each day? Many studies have concluded a good laughter every day is a great medicine for body and soul. There is an article in Current Biology titled; ‘The Evolution of Laughter in Great Apes and Humans’ this week. Apes have been laughing for 10 million years, be it from tickling or other behavior or sound/situation that make them laugh. Have a few laughs this weekend!
One friend said :
Let your love be like the misty rains, coming softly, but flooding the river
yes
I find it so nice.
i read Brida this week whilst on a cross-country trek (UK) ;o)
Some of the story lines and issues reminded me of personal feelings of exact comparison.
But the greatest suprise and joy of all was how the topic of St.John of the Cross came up – because strangely enough, the time when i had felt the same issues, concerns, doubts or confusion etc… was when I first came upon the poems of St.John of the Cross.
These are the kind of coincidences that seem to have always appeared within the stories and tales of Paulo Coelho’s books… and partly why I enjoy reading his books so much ;o)
The guest of a summer inn asked: Why does your pig try to come into my room? Is it so fond of people?
The little son of the innkeeper whispered: Thats his room during the winter.
I would like to know what people think about Real Madrid paying €90 million for Christiano Ronaldo. For me it is like the world is turning upside down and the whole strata of society as laid out in Plato’s Republic is disappearing..
Also in relation to this Real Madrid’s plan is to buy all the best players in the world..and their plan is to win everything…but does a collection of the best players always equal the best team…..if they have everything where is the hunger?…..
with love Starlight
Angela, I’m not into that football stuff but I think that ‘€90 million’ is too much for a player. I understand the importance of sports and that this is the only income for them, however it seems to me that the folks in this industry of player are exaggerating a lot!
Just imagine how the sum of those money can aid helpless people worldwide. Indeed it’s an upside-down mentalities.
You wonder if a collection of best players = the best team … The Canadians of Montreal had good players but among them and the trainer, bad attitudes, selfish attitudes, no complicity in the team, etc … and what happened happened. They lost most of the times, did not make it to the finals … they changed the trainer, for he was the one blamed for not having this team work together and it had to find a guilty one for not winning, since they should have won since they had the best and had to justify their investments … Crazy world!
Yes Carolena, I was watching the trailer in the morning and once again I was fascinated by it.. I am looking forward to see the whole film.. There is a Greek name in the actors.. ;]
Geia sou.
Thelma.
Ha ha ha
thank you
