Dear Mr. Paulo, in this store in Toronto I found the books up on the shelf as you can see. When I asked why – they told me that your books and the BIBLE are the most stolen books – and they place them up!!
Thank you Orly!
If you pass by a bookstore and you happen to have a camera on you, please take a picture and send an email to : image@paulocoelhoblog.com. Thank you!

That actually really touched my heart. My instant thought was that maybe these are people who can’t quite afford either book but really need them and in desperation take them.
Very ineteresting to share, maybe bookstores should heir ‘psychotherapist’ to examin the visitors :p
Thanks “Orly” for sharing and nich shot.
Now I tell a funny thing…Since I was not going in church often, I had no more idea about rules. Than, there people stand up for singing. Few songs I knew. The old ladies near me had the book with texts of songs, but never tried to let me take a look in it…For my bad luck I was in first row, new presence, so everybody fixed me curiously.I tried to pretend I sing, but not sure was ok. ohhhhhhh
Nooooo…Only now I read the text. The books are stolen? Good,is sign people think there are precious…In a way…
I find it so interesting that your books and the Bible are those most often stolen. I would love to catch the people stealing them and interview them one by one – just to know what they are thinking and what has compelled them to take this action. It just seems so strange, because I would think that the sorts of people who would be most likely reading your books and the Bible would be those least likely to steal anything. But obviously, my assumption would be wrong. So what is it? Is it that these books are so compelling that people feel they just have to have them, no matter what they have to do to get their hands on them? Or is that even shoplifters and thieves have a deep intuitive sense of what it is that they need: maybe reading these books will somehow change them and maybe that is precisely why they are so drawn to reading them.
I love the idea of it, as perverse as it sounds! If people are going to steal books, I love the idea that they are stealing Paulo’s works and the Bible. It’s lovely, really.
Here, in a local grocery store, a woman was caught stealing aspirin. When the police arrived, the woman was interrogated and asked by the store manager, why she would do such a thing. Her response was simple: “I have a headache, and I don’t have any money and I’m tired of being in pain.” The store manager decided to prosecute, saying that he would have let her go had she been stealing food, but he just couldn’t justify someone stealing aspirin. It made perfect sense to me, however: maybe she could endure hunger better than she could endure the pain of the headache, and, after all, who can measure another person’s pain?
Perhaps the people who steal the Bible and Paulo’s books are like that woman who stole the aspirin: maybe they are in some sort of spiritual pain that the rest of us are not quite able to fathom. Those books are the cure for what ails them.

A place to visit. Thanks.
I have five copies of the Gospel and all were given to me or my daughters for free…
To give for free or as a present, a book you appreciate, is an action of love. You want other people being acquainted and appreciate what you love.. To … steal a book .. is an .. expressed appreciation for the … writer!! ;]
Nice photo and interesting comment dear Orly. Thank you.
LOVE,
Thelma.
” your books and the BIBLE are most stolen books and they place them up ”
Zesus must be turning in his …… abode ! whatever.
If people wish to take Bible for free , zesus made it available for free, so at least bibles should be placed in such places from where they can be stolen easily, maybe this much service church can do to is messiah ( the ones available for free are of so poor quality, one may not like to read it, free or not, bible or not )
for paulo’s books we can understand, whatever u may be trying to share with people, unless this huge machine called society is fed ( and it feeds on profit alone ) one stands no chance. so paulo needs to be able to sell his books, in any case he has been brave enough to offer somethings for free. paulo take a bow and salute all those who steal books, your books from bookstores ( i am sure these minor losses must be covered in transit insurance )
