The big river starts from a small stream,friendship-from a smile.(The Way to bring up children)
I am sending you, dear Jessica, a big smile and a hug from Cyprus!
LOVE,
Thelma.
This is So true! I love this quote. ‘To see the world in a grain of sand’ then the grain of sand is not small at all!

I remember always ‘small things’ were the most important things for me: details that made the difference.
Small things: a word, a touch, a faint smile, a gesture, a glance, a hug. These small things have made me love sometimes fully and unconditionally.. Because the slight change in the voice or in the eye’s expression are those that reveal some one’s most intimate, secret thoughts and .. intentions.. Those ‘minute’ details that have driven me to Hell or Heavens. The ‘decisive’ moments in my life, the moments that have made the Scales … decide. ;]
These moments are never ‘thinking small’. On the contrary they are the time of … revelation; sometimes for being joyful and sometimes for immense pain .. The language of Love.
LOVE,
Thelma.
However small your own living room is, it contains what is close to you.
Funny you say this, Heart, because the thought just crossed through my mind how small my living room is and how I like it this way. A few months ago, I actually moved the dining table into the living room and squished all the living room furniture into the dining area, specifically to achieve this sense of intimacy. Here in this small space, everything is contained – it is impossible for people to sit far away from one another. There is no way to be in this room BUT close-up and face-to-face.
Have a great day!

“In the days and hours
that Denys was at home…
we spoke of nothing ordinary.
Not of my troubles
with the farm…
my notes due
and my failing crop…
or of his, with his work…
what he knew was happening
to Africa.
Or of anything at all
that was small and real.
We lived disconnected…
and apart from things.”
- the character of Karen Blixen, from the film “Out of Africa”
Dearest Annie, the Scales, I am referring to, are the ‘crucial’ moment, that we accept or reject something or someone..
It is also a … LIBRA, the Scales! ;]
LOVE,
Thelma.
