My best friend in Iran, a doctor who showed me its beautiful culture when I visited Teheran in 2000, who fought a war in the name of the Islamic Republic (against Iraq), who took care of wounded soldiers in the frontline, who always stood by real human values, is seen here trying to resuscitate Neda – hit in her heart.

Dear Paulo,
I brought up in Iran reading your book. I don’t know anyone in Iran who have not read your books. Books that you talk about life, love, pursuit of happiness and…. which had vanished in my country by cruelty of the government under the name of religion!
And now look whats happening in my country.
I really appreciate your support and sending Neda’s voice to people around the world. No one can deeply feel the real sorrow in Iranians hart but Neda’s eyes may send the message.
Thanks,
My point about Neda Salehi or Neda Agha Sultan ,that there’s no official investigate about her yet, is that with magnifying a News with media and press we never can find the truth.
But yes, with magnifying News you can start a media tumult battle between Islamic republic and west and put the challenge diplomacy between, in a harder way,
As I know, there are several innocent people have been murdered in the tumults by the protest and the police forces, about 10 days ago a little girl with a woman, in the way of kindergarten to their home, was murdered by the protest, and there’s no news magnifying of them.
Neda Salehi or Neda Agha Sultan have been shoted and it’s the only real information about her, We do not really know who shot at her, the police and the forces have claimed that they do not have any forces and mission on there and also the bullet is not belong to the police or other military systems and they have claimed that they have been forbidden to shot at protest .On the other hand the protest said that she was murdered by the police or other military system. And its just a doubt and A doubt is not truth.
just we can say : IRAN is neda and neda is all IRAN
thank u! now we love you more! we are all Neda and we will fight for freedom.
” History shows that blood is the price that freedom and democracy exacts from us and the shedding of Neda’s blood is only the beginning. Whether Iran becomes a free nation soon, we don’t know, but what we do know is that the journey has begun “.
WE ARE NEDA
thanks so much paulo. we love you. (from Iran)
ممنون پائولو = thank’s paulo
hi,
we are all sad about NEDA in Iran. Actually, there are so many freedom seekers like Neda here, even with worse conditions. we fear to walk in beautiful streets of Tehran. NEDA is a symbol of freedom. Thanks for publishing and supporting…
Thank you for saying what you did, but I’m American and I can’t read Iranian–forgive me
Constance
you know, “neda” in farsi language means “calling”.
تو خود حدیث مفصل بخوان از این مجمل!
All my respect to Paulo Coelho..I love your books, now I love your spirit..You are a real friend to your Iranian doctor..I wish some day we all get our freedom. Since, for those who don’t know we have the same dictatorship here in Egypt as well..
I have become obsessed watching Nada’s video. Every time I watch it I cry. I will no longer watch it again, but she will be with me forever. I know this happens all over the world. Maybe everyone needs to see these atrocities more often for more people to get involved. I am not political or religious, so I am not going to go there. I only wish I could do something to make this world a better place. My heart goes out to her family, friends and loved ones. Nada, you did not die in vain. You will be remembered in everyones hearts all over the world.

hi Paulo:
young people in my country know you very well..they love you and you’re book..I think they will appreciate you more than before. you did show you’re job as a human people.thanks of you and god bless Neda .
Dear Mr. Coelho,
There is no doubt that your support and concern about the “Green Movement” give all of us Iranians more power and courage to fight against “liars” and “dictators”.
All the best and Millions of Thanks again.
Mr.coellho!
Thanks for your support about the event in our country
… I saw the God standing near Neda and looking and crying. He was in my heart when I cried. Our tear was Neda’s Blood. There was too many Neda in that day. The God was in their heart when it’s shot. The God’s shot. The God cried when baby in her mother has shot that day and both killed. Mankind died when Neda and the other die that day.
Paulo…
I found the God is the great that day when I saw Neda. A mother never can see a crash on her child foot. The God who is the great mother of the universe has sawed too many Neda dieing. The God is the infinity. His Sadness is infinity.
I hope the god never see her children dieing.
Dear Paulo,
Thank you for your sympathy and support. we want freedom and democracy and they give us hot bullets. Today (24 June) they killed another 19 years old girl in Tehran. May all Iranian freedom martyrs rest in peace.
We dont belong to this messy and dirty world. God bless us all and Neda.

Amen.
Hi,
I am a reader of your book.
Thanks a lot for putting Neda video here.
Thanks a lot.
I as an Iranian I condemn this
Thanks for your attention to our country .& secial appreciation for writing about Neda .
I am very sorry for her family ,friends .From saterday till now I’m crying For Her ,for my lovely country ,for our future ,our hope ,our youth who are killed .I feel anger in my heart because I can not do any thing for them .
Except Neda ,that every one in the world saw her , the other young people were killed or injured without knowing their names . The official government use something for injuring protesters that after one day (24 hours pass ) the injured heart stop working . I asked some doctors that is it true ? Is there anything that do like this in our body ? They say Yes !!!! There is a chemical material named Crystal _ do like this . and during these days in Tehran ,in hospital ; there were several dead young people because of heart attack !! threr is an important point that these people didn’t count in number of killed protesters .
God bless all of them and us . The Islamic government abuse Islam .In Islam noone can find a word which one permit to kill innocent people for power , ambition.
Hi
I hope this will not make any trouble for your friend, cause it is said that one of his friends had filmed the event and send it to the world. Now “They” can find the person who was with you in Iran and thereby his friend. They obviously are not happy with spreading Neda’s film into the world!… I hope this is not how I think.I hope it is me with skeptical thoughts!!!
God bless you
and thanks for your concern.
It saddens the heart to see what horrors the people of Iran are going through. My heart goes out to all of them. Neda was indeed a brave woman and will be remembered forever. May her soul rest in peace and may her sacrifice and the sacrifice of countless others be rewarded by peace. Peace for all the country. Peace for all the world. We are with you Iran. I pray you will get the freedom and justice you so deserve.
I wonder why Arash should flee from Iran! he just wanted to save a person as she swore to do so! It’s a pity that we will not have anyone to translate your books in Farsi as Arash always did! I hope he continue to do so ! its great that he is safe with his family.
i just dont see why it is necessary to film someones dying moments. we know what happened….this is so undignified for neda poor poor lady x
plz wrote a book about recent events in iran,
about freedom,
about suffocation,
about inocent people’s blood
about NEDA
Mr. Coelho and to the Iranians,
I am a member of the Philippine youth and I am telling you we are one with this cause. Brighter days and clearer skies will shine for all of us soon.
when will the greed for power ever end . A young life snuffed out by the path of a well aimed bullet but alas ,only one of millions of such lives .
peace starts within us all . Let our own hatred be converted to love , there just is no other way . none , even as hard as it is we collesctively MUST
history tells us all that desire peace and love are usually assasinated .another young soul here joins the procession along with martin luther king , mahatma ghandi etc etc
Dear Mr. Coelho,
I really appreciate you for showing your support somehow by writing this post. I’m very much glad that a famous writer with best-selling book around the world uses his hands to support a freedom-seeking movement in a place many miles other side of the earth.
I take my hat off to you and as always look forward to hearing from you in your blog as well as your books.
A young man from Iran.

RIP Neda, we will never forget you. Your death has sent this strong message to the world , that how we , Iranian people, do respect our freedom and how we are ready to pay for it by our blood.
You have shown the true face of Iranian people to the western world. This is how we are.Although you have laid down without saying a word ,but actually your voice is heard all around the world. How meaningful is your name then Neda (Neda:voice ,Whisper)
Rest In Peace darling,rest…

Please do not publish the name of your friend, the doctor. It`s not save because of the Iranian governmental measures taken on the internet to control protests.
Just some kind of reference, as you wrote above. I am sorry that it`s is not easy to believe what happend to Neda and in general to the Iranian public.
Dear Sir
Many thanks for your compliments about our culture and also your consideration and following the truth. May GOD help you in your life.
Hi,
We all are sorry for her death. And thank you for supporting and publishing this crim in the world.
WE NEVER FORGET THIS TRAGEDY.
Regards
DAVUT
thanks paulo ,
when I see u supporting Iran and traveling there I will be proud of you.
I read most of your books.
Thanks Paolo… Your books have given hope to many of us Iranians. It is great to know you care.
I can’t express my frame of mind watching these images…sorry, but I am without words…
Neda will remain the symbol of freedom in this sick world we live in :S what kind of brutality on earth could destroy such a sweet soul :( RIP Neda we’d never forget you.
Paulo plz take care of posting any Iranian info coz the Iranians are looking for such info all over the internet. God be with you Iran. hope this ends.
Here we are , every things have end and every things is Maktoub , yesterday I remembered this song don’t cry for me Argentina . I dedicate to Neda God bless your soul my sister . she believe and did pay the price
It won’t be easy, you’ll think it strange
When I try to explain how I feel
That I still need your love after all that I’ve done
You won’t believe me
All you will see is a girl you once knew
Although she’s dressed up to the nines
At sixes and sevens with you
I had to let it happen, I had to change
Couldn’t stay all my life down at heel
Looking out of the window, staying out of the sun
So I chose freedom
Running around, trying everything new
But nothing impressed me at all
I never expected it to
Don’t cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don’t keep your distance
I wrote the following after watching the video of an Iranian woman on a rooftop in Tehran crying while verbally expressing her grief. I cried with her.
“Poem For The Rooftops of Iran” http://tinyurl.com/mhk6dc
I wish I could do something more. I have many Iranian online friends that count me as part of their family. My heart feels like a rock inside my chest and my mind is obsessed with the madness.
Where Is This Place?
Where is this place the world has forgotten
Where blood runs deep in the streets
Where every door is closed and shuttered
And in every heart there beats defeat
Where is this place the world has forgotten
My beloved homeland, place of my birth
Where the cries of children pierce the night
Dear brothers, what are their lives worth.
See the blood, smell the smoke
Revolution is in the air
Light a candle for the darkness
Help to guide our prayer
Where is this place the world has forgotten
Where freedom is just an empty word
Where silent voices must send the message
Of desperations still unheard
Where is this place the world has forgotten
Should we not be involved in all mens souls
Does anyone’s death not diminish me
Do you have to ask for whom the bell tolls
See the blood, smell the smoke
Revolution is in the air
Light a candle for the darkness
Help to guide our prayer
Where is this place the world has forgotten
My beloved homeland, place of my birth
Hear my weeping for her sorrows
And help her take her place on earth.
There must be a special place in hell for those who use religion for their own selfish, irrational need for power.
People of Iran, you are not forgotten. The world is watching.
Many of you were Americans after our 9/11. Now we are Iranians.

Dear Melody:
As an Iranian guy living in England, I am going to deeply express my appreciation and gratitude to you concerning writing this beautiful and affecting poem. In Persian language there is famous words says: every word comes out from the depth of the hearth it definitely stays on another heart! I was also crying with you and lots of my home mates when watching this video clip shows how one beautiful and innocent young girl was shot and died by militaries. I always raise my hands toward the sky and ask GOD to bring that day, as famous American singer JOHN DULON, singed: All the people living life in peace.
God bless you
Your unseen Iranian friend: Mr. Afshin
I share your happiness about the good news and pray your friend will stay safe!
Al Fatiha ….
Allah bless her soul..She is the Angle of Freedom.
