Dear Mr Coehlo (my message is in french because it would be too hard for me to write in english and be well understood…)

Happy dreams exist because they are sources of love and offer wisdom about alignment.

A poem by Hafiz

Love Is The Funeral Pyre

Love is
The funeral pyre
Where I have laid my living body.

All the false notion of myself
That once caused fear, pain,

Have turned to ash
As I neared God.

What has risen
From the tangled web of thought and sinew

Now shines with jubilation
Through the eyes of angels

And screams from the guts of
Infinite existence
Itself.

Love is the funeral pyre
Where the heart must lay
Its body.

Regardless the fact that you published your friend’s name while he asked you not to (!) I think you are doing a great thing allowing us to see and read this side of the story.
Might i add to Arash Hejazi, You did not fail saving her… On the contrary… She had a bullet straight in her heart, no one survives that and you know that better than we do… Glad to hear you are safe and sound in London.
Mr Coelho, may I be so bold to ask you to try to have all friends writers, editors (etc) do pressure on all your respective governments to help the people of Iran. We can’t do the revolution for them but we can help them by supporting them morally and ask our governments do to economics reprisals. You are a greatly respected author and a peace messenger… People will listen to you…
Just a thought…
Thank you
Pascale in Quebec Canada.

Sharing some words…

Humans are forgetful creatures, so here are some important reminders to help fuel a positive, fresh start to a wonderful new year.
Remember that you are the only instrument of change in your life. So use your power wisely. This is your story, and you have the power to alter your creation at any time. A mindful life yields more smiles. And smiles are good for you.

Remember that you are what you eat. So eat well. Indulge in quality food, quality friendships, quality dialogue, quality thought…

Remember to stretch more often. The body was happiest when it was new and limber. Through unmindful living, we forgot to maintain flexibility. So stretch, stretch, stretch… it makes the body happy and maintains youth.

Remember to broaden perspective. Life is better understood when viewed from many angles.

Remember to be good to yourself. If you’re not smiling, you’re not being good to yourself.

Share love.

Natural Path

I cannot recall the exact home that Frank Lloyd Wright designed that nicely portrays the essence of a natural path, but the concept is simple yet monumental when applied to all things in life.

In the preliminary stages of the home build, Wright’s workers asked where he’d like the sidewalk leading to the front door of the home to be laid. He urged the workers to wait until the right time. As the project neared completion, a natural path from weeks of walking to and from the house was worn into the ground. Once the natural path was revealed, Wright instructed the workers to begin the sidewalk construction.

There’s a natural path for all things in life, however it may not be so apparent to the inattentive person. When on life’s natural path, life’s flow is smooth and effortless. When a deviation occurs, life’s flow is disrupted and the ill repercussions become increasingly more evident. Only with life, the natural path is not as visible as the path that was revealed in the Wright project. So to be able to reveal this natural path in life, we must be attentive to our experiences and intuition. Self attentiveness cannot be underestimated if we hope to live with a sincere smile on our faces.

What does this mean? Well… it’s simple. If your life is not going so well, you’ve deviated from the natural path. In this situation, your plan of attack should be simple—do something other than what you are currently doing until the issue is corrected. Be mindful of your actions that led you back to the natural path, and then continue this involvement. Also, identify the action that led you astray, and then do not engage in that action again.

This is not to say that we’ll ever reach a point where life’s flow is always smooth and effortless—that’s next to impossible. However, with an attentive mindset and careful actions and reactions, we can limit the devalued experiences and increase our self-worth to carry on with a sincere smile.

We are all connected—value your self and add to Life’s value. Find your natural path…

Daniel,
Frank Loyd Wright’s house that you speak about is call Fallingwater. I live in driving distance from there and have visited it many times over the years. If you are able to tour it, take the chance!

Nicely written piece you have going on here! May we all find our natural path.

that was nice daniel !

Human beings or to be more precise the intrument called mind is a forgetful creature ! and as u have said, it needs reminding..

i have thought of an simple device which can actually help in controlling this instrument called mind, but attempts have met with enough faiures to make me rethink if i am right or if is the universe ready to allow such a thing to come into play.

i liked your ‘natural path’; what does one do if one is like a moth, knowing that the fire will burn it, it cannot help get over one’s fascination for it. some people have a ntural path which takes them to the cross, I seem to be at cross roads anyway !

life flow being smooth and effortless – looks like nirvana, but who wants it, smooth effortless lives is what best we can take from this place which offers so much variety, range ?

i will be more mindful of my ‘natural path’ perhaps… i will see what is revealed !

Dear Mr. Coelho,

What is the purpose of revealing this person’s full name? His family is still in Tehran and most probably in more danger now than before!

His name should never have been revealed. Tehran is a very dangerous place as I am sure you know.

Regards

Terry

You read my mind, he asks for his name not to ba mentioned and there it is in the reply… Oh at least he is now safe in London…

Betsy June 25, 2009 at 11:01 am

Terry,

I don’t feel that the family are in anymore danger then they have been in before.
Sometimes life calls upon us to do the unthinkable. To call on our inner strength that dwells within us.
I’m sure everything was weighed out prior to Arash letting the release of his name.

The Road to Wisdom.

The Road to Wisdom? – -
Well, it’s plain
and simple to express.
Err
and err
and err again
but less
and less
and less
and less.

So many times people will ask me why I look young for my age (I’ll be 50 next month). They act as though I use some kind of cream or who know what else!
To tell the truth, I think it is as said in The Warrior of Light:

Let’s allow the child within us to take the reins of our existence a little. This child says that one day is different from another.

I must have forgotten I was getting older, for the child within me didn’t tell me I was.

So every day, try to let that child speak to you. You will be surprise what it will say.

The Enchiridion

By Epictetus

Written 135 A.C.E.

Translated by Elizabeth Carter

1. Some things are in our control and others not. Things in our control are opinion, pursuit, desire, aversion, and, in a word, whatever are our own actions. Things not in our control are body, property, reputation, command, and, in one word, whatever are not our own actions.

The things in our control are by nature free, unrestrained, unhindered; but those not in our control are weak, slavish, restrained, belonging to others. Remember, then, that if you suppose that things which are slavish by nature are also free, and that what belongs to others is your own, then you will be hindered. You will lament, you will be disturbed, and you will find fault both with gods and men. But if you suppose that only to be your own which is your own, and what belongs to others such as it really is, then no one will ever compel you or restrain you. Further, you will find fault with no one or accuse no one. You will do nothing against your will. No one will hurt you, you will have no enemies, and you not be harmed.
