Reading, “The Warrior of Light uses common sense to judge not the intentions of an action but its consequences.” reminds me of a simple rule that I learned to follow from Duke University’s men’s basketball coach, Mike Krzyzewski: “Don’t do anything that’s detrimental to yourself.” It is broad enough to apply to EVERY choice, and yet vague enough that it requires you to think about the choice you are thinking of making COMPLETELY before making an action. In that thinking, there is an understanding that every action has consequences and they need to be anticipated to some degree before proceeding.

Thank you Paulo, for giving me something important to think about- that our good intentions are meaningless without action, and we will never get the desired consequences without the actions. We cannot have one without the other. Intentions and consequences, and in life we often have to consider our responsibilities. If one becomes a parent, one has a responsibility to see the upbringing of that child, through. As family members, we have responsibilities for each others, that we have to attend to, before we go chasing our Personal Legend. That’s just the way it is.

When we judge our own actions, we should always look at the consequences of those actions: Did we help, or hurt others or ourselves? Sometimes it is not enough to have “meant well.” If we do not think through the consequences of our actions from the start, we can sometimes do great harm, even when none was intended. In this sense, we must be prepared to take responsibility not only for our intentions but also for the consequences of our actions.

On the other hand, when we judge the actions of others, we should always consider the intention behind their actions. We should not condemn them based solely on the consequences. If we can look at a situation, even where some harm was done, and say, “Well, that person meant well – they intended no harm,” then we are one step closer to forgiveness. We must give others room to make mistakes, especially when those mistakes are accidental or made purely out of ignorance. Just as we learn from our own mistakes, we must realize that others have the capacity to learn from their mistakes too. It is possible to denounce an action, even to point out the detriment of its consequences, and yet, at the same time, offer forgiveness to the person who committed that action. In this way, we help them to learn and yet give them the opportunity to grow.

The Warrior of Light never assumes that he knows what is best. He is like an ocean that lets the rivers and streams come to him. Even when the tiniest waterways that are left alone, it will carve its way to the ocean.
The warrior of light is accepting, not judging the acton, but with wisdom, studies the consequences.

For me, before taking an action, I make it an honour to be conscious of the needs that are concerned. I go in relation with myself, knowing that my conscious mind and my uncouncious mind have to be clear, to identify the real needs at stake. Awareness of the real intentions that arise the action is important for me. And then, I always verify before and even during that exercise of verifying the intentions if the action that wants to be achieve are for my love purpose, my brother’s and sister’s purpose and the Universe’s purpose, meaning the Divine Plan. If my action has power over the 3, I am ready to act. It is important for me to distinguish between the soul and the Ego. So that is why I verify always that the energy that brings the intention of action is of the energy of the creative aspect of my soul or of the energy of the Ego, knowing that the Ego accomplishes no action that is true love for me, my brother and sister and the Universe.
