HI Alexandra,

as i have not read Miss christina, i could not make much of teh story itself, maybe teh word limity was a constraint. i cannot comment on your story. on your baby, i have not seem it enough, but your baby looks smart and smiling, your writing style is appealing. when you write something, is it a good idea to put yourself in your reader's shoes, be the reader and then write.

come out of teh closet dear alex, all you can ever loose is your 'position' with your freinds / family, those who are our own would love and appreciate us more for having at least tried, those who make fun of us, are anyway not freinds so why bother with their.

love

Diana, I have never read Eliade's "Miss Christina," but your story also reminds me a film that I very much love, called "Somewhere in Time." In the film, a young playwright (played by Christopher Reeves) is approached one evening, at the opening of one of his plays, by an elderly lady who presses an antique pocket watch into his hand as a gift and begs him, "Come back to me...." He has no idea who this lady is, but is greatly disturbed by this encounter. Several years later, however, when he is staying in this grand old hotel, he becomes entranced by this painting of a beautiful young women, which hangs on the wall. After much inquiry, he learns that the woman in the painting is actually the same woman who approached him and gave him the watch, a famous actress from many decades prior. So, using self-hypnosis, he travels back in time to meet her. Of course, the two fall in love immediately, and the story goes on from there.

I would love to read the rest of your story! As it ends here, I am left in great suspense, wondering what will happen next. Will they meet again? And if so, what then?

Certainly, I think such things are possible - that people can reach one another sometimes over great distances or great expanses of time. A painting can be a doorway, leading from one dimension or one time period to another. Similarly, a dream can be a bridge between two individuals who have never met on the physical plane (at least not in this lifetime) or who happen to live at great distances from one another.

Wonderful story, Diana! Hope you will share with us the rest of it sometime.

Sincerely,
Savita
