Quote of the Week

Unhappy people hate to be reminded that happiness exists. Save your energies!

  • Thank you for your tips,
    Savita Vega! Marie-Cristine!

After I read the replies about Osho’s opinion, I was very interesting in it. In reflection of personal experience, relationship between sexual being and spiritual being is not important.

Light exists actually, but I have no idea about Osho’s fire. I just guess the word “fire” is connected with meditation.

Abs(tin)ence makes the heart grow fonder…

This is ( sadly?) what I feel too , Paul . But the heart is the winner for me , so isn’t it a way for it to grow and let us know its preciousness ?

Am I trying to justify and kill my recurrent feelings of loneliness here ?

Oscar Wilde’s always stalked me … yet for years I had difficulties understanding that quote , until I had to kill my own marriage for reasons of abject betrayal i couldn’t take , and later kill my own love because it stayed unrequited …

I would much rather put every ounce of energy I have to make them see them . Call me a fool , but the few that can see it are worth it .

: D “dont worry , be happy “- how can this song not put a smile in a any ones face ? make them happy even for a few seconds

    :D Yes, let’s sing along!!

There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
    Like good little children
    Don’t worry, be happy
    Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
    But when you worry
    You make it double
    Don’t worry, be happy……

Bobby McFerrin became famous to the masses through this catchy song… he is however, a brilliant master of both classical & jazz music…

    Hi Paul,
    Ave Maria -
According to some studies undertaken, singing Ave Maria has enormous benefit. It is compared to the Budhist mantra”Om “..
    It raises your vibrations.
I remember there was a topic discussed here on collective prayers, We all sing in harmony.
Teaching us how to breathe properly is essential for the control of our emotions.
Thanks for that Paul, Ave Maria is on my daily list, singing away right now…..:)
    Love
    Marie-Christine

  • Something that may be worth practicing when dealing with unhappy people:

With attention on the person repeat to yourself:
“Just like me, this person is seeking some happiness for his/her life.”
“Just like me, this person is trying to avoid suffering in his/her life.”
“Just like me, this person has known sadness, loneliness and despair.”
“Just like me, this person is seeking to fulfill his/her needs.”
“Just like me, this person is learning about life.”

The word, I believe, is compassion.

    ‘isbtances’ What does it mean?

    [Reply]

    Savita Vega Reply:

Never heard the word “isbtances” but I am familiar with the phenomenon of enlightened gurus extending these little “jolts of energy,” referred to as “shaktipat,” resulting in various “graces.” See wiki article:
