I know of one person who thinks he is so strong that he conrols everything around him but never obey laws…that even the law of gravity, if he could, he will disobey…LOL!!..

Laws are not for to control the weak but to create order..without law/rules there will be chaos…

I’d say, the weak controls the law, the honest and the strong obey laws because the strong desires order..the weak attracts to chaos…

i think its very true that honesty control the strong , but i think that sometimes we are forced to follow rules (especially social rules)that we are against just to satisfy people that we love (parents , family , lover…) and then we put on masks and start to be professional liers with ourselves and then with others …so i think honesty control the strong but sometimes it become a victim of traditions …

Put this great quote in context of romantic love. Honesty, two hearts love each other and agree to commit to each other. The Law, get a judicial agreement, to prove your intentions to the whole society, and make sure one or the other don’t get screwed.

Just yesterday, I heard Tiger Woods and his lovely Sweedish swimsuit model wife, went to a lawyer re negotiating their pre-nuptial agreement. Originally she will get 20 million dollars if they divorce after ten years. Now that Tiger Woods is cough cheating with at least 3 different women, is the immediate reaction from the heart, oh let’s make as much money from this. Kobe Bryan bought his wife a knock out diamond when he was caught cheating. One reporter says she understand Tiger Woods cheat when it seems the first thing his wife now think about is re negotiating their lawful wedding agreement. Well, also she apparently hit him with a metal golf club and chased him out of their home, and supposedly called one of the mistress up and smashed the phone on the floor. Another ‘happy’ divorce coming to mind was how Heather Mills squeezed as much as she could out of Paul McCartney. Oh god, isn’t it nasty when law take over! But we don’t want to be completely exploited by the men either. I must admit, having married a man who was divorced and with children, I made sure to get a contract saying nobody can claim our house except me and my husband, before I took up a large mortgage to buy one!!

Love,
heart

Ahhhhh! a very smart Heart!

How old were the children when you married? Even step-children who are out of the house can cause trouble for a second marriage. On the other hand, step-children can be pleasant gift, too.

Thanks for sharing. In a male celebrity’s defense, I must say that it has to be difficult (I was going to say hard, but….) for them when so many women flaunt themselves in front and all over them. Most humans love attention and being told that they are beautiful. Ohhhh they “dig it” not realizing that the compliment giver is really looking to be the monetary receiver. Then it all rolls along … nice at first … then down to the dark depth of embarrassment and pain later. Ohhhh yeah, they dug it at first …. now they have to dig themselves out and it stinks for more than them. Think of all the people who are affected by Tiger’s lovely choices.

Something for us all to ponder….
Love ya,

Honesty lives in a person, without any visual, mental distinction, without asking for their name, sex, age, religious beliefs, proffession, personal choises, medical diagnosis. If to say, that the truth shall set us free, and lets us love on a different level, then yes… in that way, honesty controls. Because You do not want to be corrupted, living a lie.

The United Nations’ Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children (2000) recognises that women are often in an unequal power situation and make decisions because of their lack of choices or the authority of the person or persons with whom they are dealing. In the protocol, trafficking covers a wide range of activities, including sexual exploitation, forced labour, and organ removal. It also holds that consent is not absolute – where secured through threats, deception, abuse of power, or other ways of gaining control over another person, consent is irrelevant.

Most people think that being honest is not lying. Yes, this is part of it and many men are strong because of this belief. The strongest men, and I will follow DEN ROD here by calling them “Superheros,” are those who “quietly” display TRUTH TELLING, TRUTH SPEAKING, TRUTH LIVING, and TRUTH LOVING.

Think of those with whom you associate. Which ones can be considered HONEST? Smile as you think of them. Then thank them for being a beautiful part of your life.

THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING SO HONEST. YOU HAVE TAUGHT ME SO MUCH. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

thats a very interesting view and i understand it

weak people need laws and boundries to govern them

the strong and honest person doesnt as they will always be able to justify their actions

i always tell my friend if you are honest no one will hate you or dislike you. they may not like what they hear (the truth hurts and all that), but they will not hate you. honesty is the best policy

lie, and you give people a reason to hate, dislike and not trust.

guess i’m going of on a tangent…

but agree weak people need laws and boundries as they are afraid or lack courage .. they can then ‘justify’ their action by saying i am following the law. the law is the law.

the strong person can justify any action by being honest and truthful as to why the did it. wheter the action is deemed good or bad.

thats me done for tonite . peace all

The laws exist for that we live all in “good terms”, not only for the weak. The honesty is the best option in the life. Sometimes the ignorance returns the invisible honesty.

it is really an interesting question because my first reaction was to disagree. i ws thinking about f.e. dictatorial people such as fidel castro, who did not restore the constitutional law in Cuba as he had promised before he had gained power over his country.
but perhaps i am making a mistake in thinking.
i have a friend who actually ís a professional lawyer, she lies to the entire world, even her husband on the worst subjects. it is like a disease. but she knows how to handle the law: if it is not proven, it has not happened.
she lies because she’s afraid of admitting the truth and loose her shiny happy – not- life.
i know because we talked about this for years, untill recently because I quit doing it.
it is a difficult question.

Inzaghi December 1, 2009 at 2:47 pm

Hola a todos:

“Laws control the weak.

Gracias.

Dear Insaghi,
What better teacher could you have had in your life than living both experiences as you said. When you experience that yourself, you can see what it really happens inside by closer.
Today people happens to be in pain only because they have forgotten to be honest at least with their selves.
Such a pity! For such a little we can get lost! I know a lot of people who see their selves in trouble because of this and others who have a great peace inside because honesty has helped them a lot, has grew them strong. I wish that to you to!

Laws control the weak…Honesty controls the strong.
But then…the strong conrol the weak…
That equals:
Honesty controls the laws

Laws are very important and vital, without them it would be chaos and anarchy and we should respect and always obey to them for this…At the same time…laws are there to serve us…not for us to serve them…we shouldn’t forget that…The cause cannot be jusstified by the means, but the means, are justified by the cause…

Best Regards

The people are both strong and weak just like paulo said in his book “the devil and miss prym” people carried the devil and the angel in one body and what depends on which situation or side hold the dominance. but the honesty always do the things judged by their inside honor .that’s the means of “Strong”!

Paulo recently I had to write my own bio to be accepted into an organization; I was given 3 days to get this done along with an essay of a 1000 words or more, no tardiness accepted. I never wrote a bio let alone my own. Within these three days I received A Warrior’s Life bio of Paulo Coelho in the mail I read the first couple of pages, and I love what I have read so far, I’m not finished yet, but I love it so far. After reading just those few pages I realized I cheated myself when writing my bio because I didn’t want to list the things I felt I would be judged by in a negative way, now I as I sit and wait to hear an answer I really am upset that I wasn’t true to myself to my bio. Lesson well learned I should have known that if they don’t accept all of me pretty and ugly then I shouldn’t bother myself with this particular organization. So I told myself that I would rewrite my bio everything the pretty and the ugly and not feel ashamed of whom I am. I know its too late to turn in the true bio, but at least I will write it as I see it. Like my daddy always told me when someone ask you who you are tell them “I am who I am”.

Pessoal,

Laws are often necessary to effect the desired changes in a weak society. Laws to the “weak” serve as their guiding light to avoid getting lost in the midst of confusion and struggle in their journey towards achieving their goal. But sometimes, laws are not enough to lead the “strong” who sometimes feel that they are above the law. What they need is simple but difficult to possess. What they need is somebody who has an honest heart with a sincere desire to bring out the goodness in all of its members. No ifs, no buts.

but the converse is true also..

when you have lost your way… and are ‘weak’
then laws may be useful…
to help you find and rebuild your way.
then, laws are a temporary path until honesty can lead the way unihibited and undeterred again.

Daniel November 30, 2009 at 11:49 pm

I think there are fundamental laws that govern all our lives, that no man or woman created.

From The Prophet by Kalil Gibran

“They see only their shadows, and their shadows are their laws.

And what is the sun to them but a caster of shadows?

And what is it to acknowledge the laws but to stoop down and trace their shadows upon the earth?

But you who walk facing the sun, what images drawn on the earth can hold you?

You who travel with the wind, what weathervane shall direct your course?

What man’s law shall bind you if you break your yoke but upon no man’s prison door?

What laws shall you fear if you dance but stumble against no man’s iron chains?

And who is he that shall bring you to judgment if you tear off your garment yet leave it in no man’s path?

People of Orphalese, you can muffle the drum, and you can loosen the strings of the lyre, but who shall command the skylark not to sing? “

This reminds me of a true story I read yesterday, about a 91 year old englishman who was a prisoner of war.

Whilst most would dream of getting out, he swapped places, he broke the rules (and risked his own life on numerous occasions) to help the lives of prisoners held in the nearby Auschwitz camp.

It is the first time that this man had ever spoken publicly about his ordeal, he suffered hugely from post traumatic stress disorder after the war, but was recently reunited with one of the people he swapped with.

A brave, courageous man “with a head of red hair and a temperament to match, nothing would stop me” he says on the clip below.

Sometimes rules are unfair and need to be broken, and that takes extreme courage.

The saying goes honesty is the best policy, and it should be that way for the weak and the strong.
But everyday we see in the papers or hear on the news how people in high positions in governments or banks have been totally dishonest. Is it because of their positions of power that they feel they are strong enough to be dishonest. If so they are only fooling themselves. These dishonest people who have the power control the weaker and less powerful people with their laws. How wonderful it is to see the weak revolt and stand up for their beliefs. They may be weaker but inside their soul is honest.

It is a kind of role reversal in a way. I will think more on this and look at it from a different angle..

I had to come back, in part because I wrote the above comment forgetting few important details, as Paulo Coelho imprisoned for taking part at a revolt. In that regard, I strongly adhere to the idea that we must respect humanity and natural rights, the law of God, and sometimes break some wrong laws, for that, indeed one must be strong.

Heal,heal with your sword
Heal that heart,free the words
As long as we write we will not die
No one will ever take us away that light
The seasons will pass and time will fly
Justice will be made,no more time to cry
We are strong,we are many,we are one
Our heart on scale will not show crime
It is pure love and crystal clear
We have nothing to fear
They might scratch our heart
But they will never break us apart
Because the angels are here
And will not make us disappear
They will take our hands and carry on
Deceivers will die and we will return home
On golden days we shall walk
No more building and no more clock
Nothing else than pure love
And looking at the stars from the above
We shall remember that nothing fails
And then we shall say..
Why was I crying for? What did happen?
They don’t deserve our tears, now it’s their turn
When papers will fly and everything will burn
Their heart on the scale will not lie
It will reveal under the supreme Eye
And the beast of devoring souls
Will be waiting to eat those
Those who didn’t live who just pretend
To be the ones they are so far to be in the end
Poor are the souls who will fade away
All they did and all they said
Will go blowing in the wind forever
And then we shall see who will be remembered

Hello dear Thelma,

I really like your sentence ‘Our conscience is the law’
I also find a lot of truth in that. I think each person has varying degrees of conscience.
For conversation sake, if our conscience is law, then it would be correct to say ‘conscience controls the weak, honesty controls the strong.’ So, to avoid being weak, how do we get rid of the conscience??

But they have turned the ‘Right is Might’ to .. ‘Might=Power is Right’, which is the Law of the Jungle, dear friend Aditya! Divide and ..Reign! ;-] And another axiom also says: If you cannot fight them, join them!!!! So the Laws are made to … measures!!! Human made!

thanks annie,

good u are in love with this phrase and i am in love with …

Thelma, my freind,

yes they have turned are turning it all into a jungle law, might is right, but i guess we are talking of inner strength here, persons who are strong from within, who don’t need crutches of money, popularity, fame etc etce to feel strong, say someone like zesus, now what did he have, but what he had continues to radiate even all these years after he walked this earth in flesh and blood. the laws that we see in society are mostly to keep the weak in check, have u noticed the moment u abadon your craving for anything, u are free from it, that is why they say renounciation, an internal renounciation wherein you enjoy all that world has to offer, but don’t loose your sleep over anything is said to be the path to freedom !

Thank you all! I have the LAW in the family as you know. My husband I believe has been an exception; he is a ‘rare’ case of honest lawyer and this is the reason, I think, that his clients come to consult him, even now that he is retired. They trust him.
Regarding my daughters, who both have studied Law, one of them is a Senior Registrar at the Court and the other one is a Law Lecturer. Both hated … practising law. As for me, I had to appoint another Lawyer for my personal cases; so says the Ethics of the Lawyers!! And I say this is so, in order for the Lawyers to be able to .. settle the cases. As for me, I am a … bad client, because with all the legal books and laws at my .. disposal I am … more than a … Lawyer!! I know both sides of the coin!! My rights and my duties. KNOWLEDGE IS MIGHT!

Great point Daniel…it is wrong to scapegoat the lawyers, when all they do is give the society what we want for the buck. I’m sure we all lie more in 2009 than our grandparents did back in 1930! I believe the level of lying is escalating for most people. One example I have mention before is the creativity in people when they call in sick (not being sick of course) My god the things we come up with to get a day off work :))

Liina dear & Annie,

I’m not sure it would be possible to prove lawyers lie more than other professions at work or at home. Yes, we all ‘know’ politicians lie all the time too, and a large percentage politicians are lawyers. Perhaps, it is a knowledge thing. In general my experience is academics lie more. Perhaps, the higher education the more lies? For instance, psychologists, who knows ‘everybody lies’ have a different attitude about lying. So, my take is, the more comfortable one is with lying, the more it will happen at work AND at home.

Hi Aditya!

How are you old chap? :)

What happened? Oh, we have one lawyer in my family, he is young and in the beginning of his career as an international lawyer, my first cousin. Him, growing up, I see him as a very honest, decent lovely young man. Now, I’m reading his disputably thesis twisting every discussion here and there, and it’s just a ‘game’ where I fail to see common sense and heart anymore.

Myself I have never been involved in any Court Cases, thank god. The college where I worked in Norway, coworkers of mine sued each other! It was really nasty, and often it was a question of who had the most money to get the best lawyer to get a decision one way or the other. No way was it a matter of justice, but of who were the better liar!

In the USA, the whole judicial system is ridiculous, and in my opinion has little to do with justice anymore. When a lady can sue MacDonald because she spill coffee she had bought there, and there were no warning on the coffee mug that it could be spilled, and she won millions, then hello! When O.J.Simpson can go free of murder! Just wait and see next year, when the Gitmo prisoners will be getting American trails in New York, it’s all going to be a BIG SHOW, and have nothing to do with justice for the victims.

So, guess this is how I have formed my opinion.

Heart

Dear Tarek, thank you for reading me..
I am going to try to explain what I mean:
Our being humans is a … contradiction by itself! We are material, mortal bodies with an eternal soul, the sparkle of Divine LIGHT, Wisdom and love. We think, act, proceed in life according to our character, temporary self, under a name, nationality, religion, our MASK. We are here in order to .. learn; to learn, to find the Truth and we live according to … our ‘principles’ and ..our ‘up-to -the minute’ selves. We resonate, vibrate as our Inner self is. We mirror our Soul. Our thoughts, actions, words are the ..result of WHO WE ARE. I think that we are like … a music note! When we play ‘do’ the result is to ..hear ‘do’!
Our conscience is our ..bond with our ..actions! It is our.. JUDGE. It is our .. battlefield. It is how we step the .. Ladder upwards. Sometimes we may … lose our .. balance and slip ..down. But our Way is a way towards the Light.
THE WILL OF GOD is THE LAW! If we are able to forget our Ego and let ourselves be ‘in tune’ with Him then our Will is in accordance with His Will. His WILL is LOVE.
I also think and believe that the .. criminal of today is the ..Saint of tomorrow. We just must learn how to ..love our enemies and those who have hurt us, because they acted this way because they are ‘in ignorance’ and the Law is to ..learn how to BE LOVE.

Of course, the above, are my personal views and ideas that are the result of my ..Journey.
LOVE,
Thelma xxx

Dear Thelma,
I think that mere existence is an Tune act with the creator, be it bodies or souls, light or darkness, no difference.
The conscious role here is to become conscious of this fact and by that be in tune with its real nature which will lead to harmony..
If not, the result will be that ego/conscious will be playing an out of tune note and will be foreign to its true nature causing all sorts of depressions,wars,hate,..etc..
Wish you great day.

Dear Olta:

Before anything, thank you for your response and attention. I can assure you that a lot of people (people I know)suffers in a greater scale due to their lack of honesty within themselves. The result of all this, is the suffering and falling into something far more dangerous, which is the lack of indentity….it’s when you start losing who you are and become a leaf to the mercy of life’s winds….this (at least to me) causes me a great fear.

There has been times when I have lied to myself, but the experience of dishonesty towards myself, avoids me to fall in a lie within me.

Thank you once again,

Inzaghi

I think you were extremely smart to insist that the contract when your way in case of death, etc. It has definitely been a change for you to move to the Phoenix area. Protect yourself. As Paulo has said and I will paraphrase … Always have an exit plan, even in the best of situations …. In your case it’s a stay plan. :-)
