For as long as it takes you to realize that all doors are open…

The DOORS OF PERCEPTION are always there, open, leading us to Freedom. It is ourselves and our ‘narrow’ thinking mind, that do not realize it. We are ‘chained’ in .. ‘reality’, Plato’s cave and we are not able to ‘break’ them and set us free.
Just a .. glimpse behind ‘Isis veil’ and .. ‘Knowing the Truth’ we will ‘see’ that the Door is open and that we really ARE FREE.
Jesus said: The truth will set you free. I am the LIGHT, the TRUTH and LIFE. The real life; beyond the world of the phenomena.

This song/video came to mind when I thought of knocking on an open door. Heaven’s door is open, but who is doing the knocking God or you?

So, the door is open, but are we invited in? Yes, says the one living there…I let the door open, for you to enter it. Well, I’m polite, so I’m knocking..and when I don’t hear a ‘Come in’ I keep knocking and after awhile I leave. Say there were a pit bull inside, and we entered without permission? These matters are delicate! Also, this saying reminds me of the game ‘Knock, Knock’ young and old kids in America love to play; Most of the time just to come up with silly answers, other times to tell each other important things going on inside…Are we there ready to really listen to each other when someone is at our door? On a more jolly side;

Perhaps some people require an engraved invitation and a red carpet? JK I think sometimes people are afraid that the open door is just an illusion or that there has to be a catch or they want a guarantee of what’s on the other side. HA! Life’s full of risks, isn’t it? A lack of confidence can prevent even the most adamant of people from ever crossing the threshold of a fine possibility.

I see this with young people in my classes all the time…it’s as if some literally need someone to walk them through and show them how it’s done. It disconcerts them when I remind them that I cannot do it for them and I will not make excuses when they don’t follow through for themselves. Call it tough love (or some say I’m being mean) but recognizing the open door of an opportunity and taking the risk to walk through, accepting the possibilities on the other side, well, that doorway is a very narrow one and each person has to chose to pass through or not on their own. Part of becoming (and being) an adult is doing challenging things without someone else’s motivations or permission.

Knocking on the door without going through gives the ILLUSION of taking action…they’ll say, I TRIED to go, but no one was there to walk me through….I say Yoda had it right in Star Wars, “Do or do not. There is no try”. That along with “No guts no glory” and “You must do the thing you think you cannot do” all say the same thing… Cliche, possibly…True, absolutely!

AMAZING QUOTE!!!

Everything that is happening to you is here to help you. It does not matter if it works for you or against you.

I’ve been making so many changes, so many radical decisions in my life lately, that were tearing me apart for the last year. Why does it take so long for the mind to embrace a new idea?… I don’t know why it took so long for me to switch from thinking ‘I wish I’d do this…’ to ‘ I am doing this!’, but from the moment it happened I cannot imagine my life otherwise.

What’s funny is that people that knew me few years ago from my old workplace had bets on me doing these exact changes. Guess what? some of them are cashing in big time! How did they know before even I knew? How long was I knocking at this open door in my life?

I have no idea… a tooth broke while I am in a country with expensive dental with no insurance, and I started laughing remembering blowing steam a year ago on this website about having life tied down for fear of a toothache. So it’s at least a year, if not more… doesn’t matter.

I know so far that everything I possibly feared has or is happening, and then some… and it’s easier than I thought, even in the moments when it’s harder than I thought.

Like another quote a few months ago (‘what you fear losing you already lost’) this one has that sweet head-smacking effect.

Obrigada,
Anca

The open door: This reminds me of a movie which I recently saw, “Imagine That.” The main character, played by Eddie Murphy, is trying to break in a house at night in order to retrieve his daughter’s security blanket, which is magical. Because he assumes the door is locked, he tries everything to get in, including attempting to crawl through the doggie door. Then, by chance, he reaches up and grabs the door knob from the outside, only to realize that the door he was trying to break in through was never locked at all.

Of course, this was a very humorous scene – he looked like such a fool. But I suspect that we all play this character at some point in our lives – trying to break in or beat down the door when, in fact, the door we seek to enter isn’t locked at all.

Reply

Alexandra December 14, 2009 at 5:03 pm

Maybe I enter soon…hmmm…But maybe I wait till I feel I cant bare to wait any more. Or I walk away. All is possible. As in life.

Reminds me of a TV game show that I used to watch as a child. The host would pick someone from the audience and offer them a prize. Then he would say, “You can keep this prize, or you can trade it for what’s behind door #1. What do you want to do?” Sometimes the person would keep the prize; sometimes they would trade it for THE GREAT UNKNOWN. Sometimes the choice was a wise one; sometimes it was an unfortunate one. Life is full of surprises and choices. As you say…all is possible.

Suzanne December 14, 2009 at 5:00 pm

Ummm apparently until I shut that door, lock it and throw away the key – It is not a good door choice.

Change, do we actually know when things are changing? Is there an absolute point or place or moment in time when things become different? When do we notice and why? Another way of saying it is: The only permanence is change. This quote isn’t mine, it is from a yogi who’s name I can’t recall, but the essence is the same. THE ONLY PERMANENCE IS CHANGE.

Change means movement. Movement means friction. Get used.

sometimes change is necessary…moving in the same direction..is that evoulution??

move in opposite directions …there will be friction..??

so many questions….

get used… dont we all??

alternatively…stand still -… erode -…dissapear….

Depends on the contex, sometimes friction might mean nice sparkles, like glipmses of love friendship inspiration.
sometimes might be because of the traditional people, who are closed to new ideas.
We must dare, thats the only way to become ourself.

It is how we deal with this friction which define us as individuals, communities, nations, and as a species. Personally, I believe there is room for improvement on all fronts, but it begins with the individual.

Sometimes change for change’s sake is not good. Things change in their own time and then the friction arising is bearable. Do not try and impose change – try and keep in tune with the natural rhythm and movement of things and then one has nothing to fear from change.

Change is sometimes necessary
Change is sometimes unnecessary

As long as the change is for the good then you should get used to it and deal with the intermittent friction – but if the change is for the worse then you should never get used to it.

We live in a word that is continuously changing, every minute, second, millisecond is different, everything changes. Nothing is what it was and is not what it will be.
Then, why are we so obstinate on living our life against this Universal law?
Just for a few days… pay attention to the road that you pass through every day on your way to the office. If you pay attention, really looking, with awareness to everything you see, you will notice that nothing is the same, that everything changes. But you did not notice it before because you use to pass thorough blind to what the universe in a very humble way was trying to show you.All we have to do is to pay attention, looking with all our senses, looking with our soul and then remember that everything changes, even we are changing although we may not do it consciously. The impact of the change is upon us and our level of awareness. Only you can make the difference!
Even the tree in your garden or the street is constantly changing, regenerating, experimenting, and quietly having fun, without any noise, because all this is part of its natural process. It has not been educated to be afraid of the changes and/or the differences. This tree is in harmony with itself, it has not pass and nor future, it only has “the present moment” and that moment is what is living to the fullest. It does not stops giving birth to a new branch because a few days before someone have ripped it away… The tree is not afraid of continuing growing and does not limit itself to the possibility that it can be ripped again. The tree has no sense of time, because time does not exist, it dedicates its life to re-creating itself constantly as this was the very last thing it was doing, without a conditional past or a probable future. It simple “is”.
Be adventures, live your life like the tree, create yourself your way, without fears, without frontiers, without sorrows. Live every moment as it was the very last.

Change, but don’t forget the ‘password’ – I just came across this ‘joke’, I want to share with you all –

A man bought a donkey from a preacher. The preacher told the man that this donkey had been trained in a very unique way, (being the donkey of a preacher). The only way to make the donkey go, was to say, “Hallelujah!” The only way to make the donkey stop, was to say, “Amen!”

The man was pleased with his purchase and immediately got on the animal to try out the preacher’s instructions. “Hallelujah!” shouted the man. The donkey began to trot. “Amen!” shouted the man. The donkey stopped immediately. “This is great!” said the man. With a “Hallelujah,” he rode off very proud of his new purchase.

The man traveled for a long time through some mountains. Soon he was heading toward a cliff. He could not remember the word to make the donkey stop. “Stop,” said the man. “Halt!” he cried. The donkey just kept going. “Oh, no… Bible!….Church!…Please Stop!!” shouted the man. The donkey just began to trot faster. He was getting closer and closer to the cliff edge. Finally, in desperation, the man said a prayer. “Please, dear Lord. Please make this donkey stop before I go off the end of this mountain, In Jesus name, AMEN.”

The donkey came to an abrupt stop just one step from the edge of the cliff.

“HALLELUJAH!”, shouted the man.

Thank you so much Shiva for your sharing. It is a good one! Made me laugh and also reflect again on that topic that I have been thinking much these last days … An “Alléluia” followed by a “Amen” … I tend to believe considering my path that it all comes back to “Alléluias” followed by “Amens” followed by “Alleluias” … Sometimes, I tend to question why does it not stay “fixed” at Alléluia … but it is deep inside me. That is the pure joy, developing that inner security and joy that my Creator is with me all the time and the awareness that I am nothing without Him and I am all within Him (being Alléluia and Amen altogether) … Thanks again. Cordially, Jojo.

If we are going to have friction when we change, let’s go big by going beyond a spark — let’s go with fireworks.

I read somewhere and I think it was Ray Bradbury who said that we need to feel ourselves as a bomb ready to explode as we start getting out of bed in the morning. Just as our foot touches the floor we explode all over. BOOM!!! The rest of the day we spend picking up the pieces. This definitely causes friction and keeps us from becoming a stagnant, mucky pool of water. I have added to this “we should, when we pick up the pieces, throw the negative ones in the trash to rot and only keep the positive pieces of us for our next journey.

Happy explosions!!!

Jojo December 9, 2009 at 3:44 am

Reading the quote and the comments, a past moment came to my mind. I am 17 years old, in therapy in order to stop that nonsense of drug use. I was assigned an old lady, about 75 years old, a member of AA. She asked me how I would like my life to be. I said at that moment that I would like a life that has no ups and downs. She then said to me: “Johanne, when someone shows such a graphic on a monitor, that person has just been declared dead.” At that moment, I understood. I understood that I had to accept that life was made of ups and downs. Accepting that fact instead of doing all to control it, to ignore it, to go against the laws of Life, gave me strength to stop surviving and start living, to see those movements like opportunities to learn, to experiment, to develop skills, to become more and more who I am. Learning to swim and take advantage of the moment, be it high or low, is a dream come true for me.
Someone put a poem about a boat. I do not want to stay in the harbour. I just want to sail. Sometimes, under the sun, the blue sky, the calmness, and sometimes in high waves, rain. But in both cases, I know that I just want to continue sailing and accept the elements. Sometimes, I just have to stay alert and wait till it calms down, and sometimes I may take advantage of the conditions. But in all, I keep my dream, my objectives, my desire to discover new horizons.

Get used … means for me Acceptance. I rebelled a lot, and realized one day that I rebelled more against the universal laws than the man’s laws, for I found it hard to accept the notions of true faith, true letting go, true spirituality, and because I did not know what a great Being I was. Once the acceptance done, things changed so much, and all of the sudden I became a participant and no more a victim or a rebellion.

dear JoJo
what a perfect answer the 75-year old lady gave to you, more or less, that ups and downs are part of life and flat lining is part of death.
thanks for sharing this. My age is 41 and I had not thought of life this way, It’is a good one!
As in relation to the use of drugs, U wish to you that you will learn to understand how to live without it.
I hope you will learn to understand why you use them and in what circumstances. I speak to people about it to help them to find help. They tell me it is a reflex on problems they experienced as a child and they need it as coping mechanism.
It is a complicated matter, but also something that you can overcome.

I know boats – Mannick

I know boats which remain in the port
For fear the currents involve them too extremely,
I know boats which rust in the port
With never not risking a veil with the outside.

I know boats which forget to leave
They are afraid of the sea by age,
And the waves, never, did not separate them,
Their travell is finished before starting.

I know so connected boats
That they have of it désappris how to look at itself,
I know boats which remain with clapoter
To be really sour not to be left.

I know boats which from go away two by two
To face the heavy weather when the storm is on them,
I know boats which are scratched a little
On the roads océanes where their plays carry out them.

I know boats which never finished
To still marry each day of their life,
And which does not fear, sometimes, to move away
One of the other one moment for better finding itself.

I know boats which return to the port
Plowed everywhere but the most serious and more hardly,
I know boats curiously similar
When they shared years of sun.

I know boats which return from love
When they sailed until their last day,
Without never folding up their wings of giants
Because they have the heart with size of ocean.

Thanks Jane. I love your graphic. Let me tell you that at the moment where I was at 17, the graphic showed ups that bursted outside and lows that were under 0. Your graphic is representative of how I live those movements now today … Love, Jojo.

Thanks Erreth, and let me tell you that I inspire myself each time I read it. It is so good to look back and see the evolution. Need to look at that often. AA says to never forget the last drink … I need to pursue, let go of all the bad but never forget so to stay humble in all. Cordially, Jojo.

Dear “Pêche Accueil” ! :)…I like having poems to be read again… This one reminds me that the life is an adventure to be lived every day even if sometimes we are “sensitive to nervous”.

Thanks Lucrecia for your kind words. My use of drugs stopped like 30 years ago! Other things happened that brought me to those matters experienced as a child, etc … You know, the matter is not so complicated when finally there is acceptance and openess … and wonderful persons on the path that are lights … like you! Take care, Jojo.

Well said dear sis. Isn’t it also interesting how women sometimes are blamed for these Frictions. Look at Zeus, how he paid Prometheus back, for playing the trick with the ox, and stealing the flame, and then Zeus decided to punish him by afflicting him with an evil gift; the woman! And because the woman arouse in man the appetite of desire, which ruins the harmonious Olympian tribe. We initiate misbehavior and human distress. For some Friction equals Women! And yes, how can we move forward, with love and life, unless we combine elements of both bodies, you know nature, we mingle so completely that no one can tell which parts of a baby come from one parent and which from the other.

Physics lesson II hehe,

well FRICTION is a necessary evil….to remind you all without friction we can’t even walk…..we need friction to walk forward in our life.

Jojo i’m so glad, I did not read your comment quite well, I thought you were still 17 years old!
I’m glad you handle life well and you took things in your own hands.

This morning when remembering the thought,
I suddenly remembered a song, an energizing one,
a really good morning song :-)

You know what a man once told me, while saying to him how are more men? “We say the same about women!”. I had a revalation. No one is better than the other, we just need each other, men need women and viceversa. Love

Thanks, Vicky! Charles Trenet IS THE BOMB :-)

When we start to get depressed, let’s remember the Bradbury Boom Theory to get going. Then Add Charles Tenet’s “Boum” and we can’t go wrong. We’ll knock the door over as we dance right through it with an energy not to be matched!!!

Love ya,

interesting ..very interesting doesn’t it matter that a person is running hard and hard and to his full extent but don’t know where he is to reach .it really matters that who owns the door and where it leads to if we don’t know its something like that we are playing football without knowing where the goal is.with love and respect ARHAM
