My dear Jessica.... I understand your heart... and i feel you do well... all that you said.. before!!!
I don’t know what to say!!!!! I am totally perplexed by your love story!!!! THAT is WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME!!!! I love this guy to bits... and HE is coming up in my life now... After so long time... and he is telling me on the Valentine’s Day that I look good... and have a nice day, when I left into town...and he had to stay home to work... My pain is that he doesn’t tell me if he loves me... and I have only to guess all the time... but I don’t want to be cheated again! I am scared and I can not let my intuition play me again... like that! He must coke to me and say GABRIELA I LOVE YOU, I want HIM to be REAL MAN, like Paulo was calling out loud Christina’s name... lol IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL... SO DO I... wish that he will come to me and call out too... :) I LOVE YOU, GABRIELA! :-)

Inner silence is the most important element for making decisions. We do not know how to make silence, in order to listen. The world is as such that we are more and more not "allowed" to absorb the immense possibilities of "quietness". We are too vain; too sure of ourselves; and too distracted by the distorted values of our society.

“Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafairing soul, if either your sails or your rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas. For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction.”

I found this quote tonight by chance, but intuition is totally different to passion.

I wonder sometimes whether the voice of reason and intuition is not the same at certain times, I have had a very intuitive experience, where I had a dream, and my grandmother who is and had been dead for about fifteen years, was telling me not to do something (She was was a Taurus and VERY practical and sensible matriach), but I went against her advice in the dream and chose to act differently...

My Karma, my choice and that is the point of freewill, to make our own decisions... and to deal and to learn from them.

It is good to know that she is out there looking after me though.

My goodness, how interesting. Last night (as I went and bought the Pigrimage in English although I had read it in Spanish, by the way why is it called the Pilgrimage and in Portuguese it's called differently?) I was reading my favorite book, with more detail this time than the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I stopped to think about the meditations.
First I was wondering about the valentine's day post and about the different types of love and where my life falls on these differences, Philos, Eros and Agape. Then I thought about the meditations to awaken one's intuition, and I thought I should spend time doing some of them. Now I come to the blog and I find this entry.
I have been feeling drained lately and this sure lifts my spirit up. Thank you Paulo and thank you dear warriors because when you share I find answers to many questions my soul is asking.

I am tired dear friends of following my intuition.... when in fact nothing is happening right, as I wish to happen... If my intuition says it is him, the reality shows me opposite... and I will better off following my reasons and not my heart! This is how I feel, 'because I am tired of following a dream that never come true... Hope you understand me, love, Gabriela Romaria

Today I was again to try a solution, wrote a declaration, and we see after couple of days. I think it was also because meanwhile the numbers on street were changed(the 25 became 47). Possible from that point start the mess. Still they should not play with citizen time... Thanks for understanding, now I feel lighter...Have a wonderful time.

In the SILENCE of our heart we are making our Decisions. Never allow the five ... senses to deceit you, because they are guiding us to the .. predestined road, Karma and to the .. repetition of the Circle.
I am always, 'better late than never', following my Intuition for the YES and NO! Pythia's answer!!
The unmistakable INSTINCT of the JUNGLE! To be 'in touch' with our MOTHER, the GODDESS, Nature, HIS MOTHER!
LOVE,

thanks paulo,

the quote came in the apt time, i am in a soup.. really ...
i was looking for the reason to get of it, now i think the reason is not necessary because i can believe and trust in my intuition through i can follow my heart...

Hope my decision go wrong, even if it does, not desperate because i can profound that i followed my heart...

Opportunities are what we make out of the circumstances surrounding us; they don’t come into our life broadcast on flashing billboards, we have to create them. At this very moment our life is full of opportunities, all we have to do is to take the chance and go for them, without looking back.
We tend to hesitate whenever a new door opens in front of us, presenting the chance to try something different. The fear of the unknown freezes us; just the thought of leaving our comfort-zone blocks our nature and immediately switches the “security button” to protect us from any collateral damages. Our very well trained brain raises all the possible alarms we can imagine, and immediately starts telling us: “You don’t stand a chance, this is not for you! You must be crazy if you are thinking on risking everything to follow a dream! What if you lose everything?”
These thoughts and many others populate our mind, convincing ourselves that we are better off doing what we already know than trying something else. We keep reminding ourselves that we can’t afford to daydream, losing the perspective and taking a chance of doing something that is not worth the risk. As a result we choose to keep walking through the paths we already know, the ones that don’t scare us or threaten our self-esteem, even if that means living in discontent.
Naturally we are inclined to believe that things will not work out, paradoxically it will take the same amount of energy and faith to believe the opposite, but instead we choose to trust our fear.
How can we accomplish the realization of the self if we are followers of fear?
Fear blocks our possibilities of becoming who we can be, since we allow it to grow bigger than our faith in ourselves. How can we do that to ourselves? How can we allow that False Evidence Appearing Real to take over and decide who we are?
Isn’t transformation the foundation of our own existence? Can we transform without embracing risk and change?
To be alive is to be fully present in the now, aware of the chances we are holding in our hands and acting on them. To be alive is to dream, believe, transform, experiment, love, to have faith as well as doubts, it is also to be afraid and above all to find the balance in between all of them.
Experiencing fear is a reminder that we are alive, fear should be embrace and let it be, we need to feel it and face it, but we do also need to have faith in ourselves and the courage to transform.

“There is much in the world to make us afraid.
There is much more in our faith to make us unafraid.”
~Frederick W. Cropp

Today, now, exactly at this moment do something you have been postponing for a long time. Don’t be afraid of making a mistake or failing, just follow you heart, listen to it and let things be; bear in mind that failing doing something we love is much more worthy than succeeding in something we hate.
Today, now, exactly at this moment tell your comfort-zone: “I’m leaving…”

initially scared me to death”

The ideal thing would be if the heart and mind were to agree for once! This seldom happens, but when it does it feels good.

There are times when we have to follow our instinct, and it proves very hard, but it's the right choice. Courage to do the right thing gets easier with time.

I always try to go with my instinct as it proves more often than not to be a better decision than reason would make. If you look close enough to decisions that you have to make there tends to be coincidences which would make your choices easier. An example of that has been when i have seen an advertisement in a newspaper for a product, i have quickly looked at it and then turned the page. A few days later looking through a different newspaper, i see the same advert which catches my eye again and starts to make me think about it! I then was trawling through the internet and seen some reviews for a product which is claimed to be the next big thing and i suddenly realise the pattern of coincidences that i should have interpretted when the first advert stood out and i then quickly purchase the product whilst it is still at a low price and days later it is on television and the price and demand rockets!!
This seems to happen very often and i try to become focussed upon these little coincidences without going looking for them.

Everything happens for a reason!
Trust your own instinct and live your life

Once I received the most beautiful letter with this ending:

"I know is not healthy listen to your brains rather than your heart, but when my (...) I can't help but fight"

Why did he fought against what his heart was saying so loudly to do? Why did I accepted that and even myself I thought it was the right decision?

So we listened the reason and not our intuition and now I must say that this quote is certainly right.
I regret everyday since I realized we did wrong listening the reason. I regret and I pray to be another chance in our life, wich I believe it will be and that time I will take the most risky - but at the same time the most safe - option: Follow my heart.

Please, do not do like we did, listen your heart, it's always right in the most important things in life. The rest is just unimportant remains

I have to add (due to a recent encounter), that reasoning may also appear as a comment by someone else - it may be a warning coverted by sweet words, or as plain as an accusation, or a smart replique that may hurt Your soul. And due to this comment by someone else - You may start to doubt Yourself. And Your reasons for feeling or doing something or what You may be planning on doing in the (near) future.

Some people do it unconciously - but they have a habbit of putting other people down. As Kealan said in his post recently - some people have their attention turned to negativity, mostly, other than some people who turn their thoughts to love. And aint it funny, how some people just choose so. It is, the matter of fact, a choice we make. And we make it every day. Wether we put down ourselves &/or others, or we encourage people around us. Two very different ways of living our lives. The force of fear or the force of love.

Every day, there are decisions.
Decisions, that are the magic moments that Paulo talk about, which give us the opportunity to remake our lives, to make up for a past mistake, or to choose a new life, to have a better life. Each day, we get this opportunity.
If we do not set ourselves goals, that 'in the future I will do this or that', but that we would start living in the present moment, and doing this and that today, right now. Even now when You are reading or posting a message here, in Paulos blog. Life now. Don't put it off into the future or leave it in the past.

Life happens every day.

Be who You are. Find out, what You really want, deep inside, of Your life. Start moving towards it. Taking any steps that You've given. As 'small' or 'big' as they may seem. Do not give up. And continue, even if discouraged for a moment. There is much to gain. Only loss would be, if You didn't continue.

Much love,
Liina

The reason may act as 'the other'. The other is the thing holding us back, feeding fear, incompability, unableness and such negative feelings in us that work as setbacks when we're making decisions or moving towards something.

Each time You are in a situation, acknowledge, that there is that 'other' in You, which may be holding You back. If You are feeling negative feelings, You know it's 'the other' speaking. If You are, in Your decisions or actions, calm, secure, feeling love, gratefulness and such feelings leaning more to positive - the inner peace and free of negativity, then You will know You are in the right direction.

I learned this from Paulos book 'By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept'. It may not work for You exactly the same way. If You have a possibility - read that book... I think it is exactly about this subject - learning to trust ones instincts more.

Intuition = our true self, our heart.
Reason = sometimes 'the other'. Who holds us back, who sets ur our own setbacks on our road, who discourages us, who makes us lose our enthusiasm and motivation.

But at the same time... we use reasoning to get to intuition. But the scale of meaning is different. Nothing in this life is wasted. Even if sometimes we make the choices that do not lead to where we hoped to arrive. Each encounter will hopefully lead to an understanding, a lesson, if we see it. And no matter, if we do mistakes by our intuition or reasoning. We will only learn by trying to test different ways. Whatever works the best for us, (may be different, in different situations) but to learn to trust instincts is to be free of "normality" and prejudices, even more so than reasoning may sometimes offer. If we let go and trust ourself. And how can we trust others if we don't even trust in ourselves... it may be possible, but isn't our one missions in this life to learn more about ourselves, to be able to live life fully, and up to our so called 'potential'. To give all, in enthusiasm, passion, and follow our dreams. (Unable to follow ones dreams if we don't know about ourselves...)

I think I've just figuratevly made a circle. :-o (Perhaps around the sword?)

Have a wonderful week,

THANK YOU! this quote came at the perfect time for me as I am struggling to make a decision between following my heart and making a so-called rational decision (which is what everyone else wants for me). I would like to hear how people listen to their intuition. How do you hear the voice of your intuition?

Depends...Now I received a letter from finace saying they take my house, for taxes not payerd from ten years before.
The mad thing is the house they talk about is not mine from ten years, and impossible they cant find out that, with their computers. I was there to talk, and they ask the papers. What coincidence, just get rid of them lately, sure they of no use. Now I am under pressure, and is me to lose time and money to prove they injust. And weird, in ten years only now I get one letter. And in winter, they give me a paPER i HAD NO DEBTS TOWARDS THEM, WHEN i CHANGED HOUSE( THATS ANOTHER).
I wonder what I do no with instinct, It tells me only that that thing should not exist. Besides, the taxes they claim, is with all interest something 150 euros, but they want to take house in exchange...I am tired and angry, for now granny is ill, maybe dying soon, and instead visiting her must run after such inventions.
