Tribute to Escher in Barcelona

Some quotes by M.C. Escher

” I believe that producing pictures, as I do, is almost solely a question of wanting so very much to do it well”

” I could fill an entire second life with working on my prints”

” To have peace with this peculiar life; to accept what we do not understand; to wait calmly for what awaits us, you have to be wiser than I am”

” At moments of great enthusiasm it seems to me that no one in the world has ever made something this beautiful and important”

” I am always wandering around in enigmas. There are young people who constantly come to tell me: you, too, are making Op Art. I haven’t the slightest idea what that is, Op Art. I’ve been doing this work for thirty years now”

” I don’t grow up. In me is the small child of my early days”

” I play a tiresome game”

” I walk around in mysteries. Each time, youngsters say: you make Op-art too. I don’t know what that is, Op-art. This work I have been making for the past thirty years”

” The things I want to express are so beautiful and pure”

” So let us then try to climb the mountain, not by stepping on what is below us, but to pull us up at what is above us, for my part at the stars; amen”

successful people have been able to do so because they were not afraid of being different……being different is a blessing….although at times it might seem a curse!!!

Querido Paulo,
Amém, seguir em frente e olhar para cima ou para frente, talvez seja isso.
Até mais,

I’m like Annie, had fun yesterday with this playful piece of art. So returned to play again, opened the map, and wound up visiting cute little Oliver the bird in his beautiful but uninhabited apartment.

A brilliant tribute to Escher’s ‘Relativity’. Interesting and it relates to a Henry Miller reading I was thinking about for two days, and of course connecting your previous posts. Dear Einstein and other thoughts.

Incredible scope for imagination.

Thankyou again Paulo, Gratitude and Love,
Jane xo

Jane,

Did you have a chance to see the movie “INCEPTION” … This pic fits right in.

I had a chance to see a production of Shakespeare’s “A COMEDY OF ERRORS” … the set was done in Escher’s style. Wild Crazy and fun. I would have loved to have seen the backstage workings…because the actors put heads out through doors and windows from all angles of the set and it seemed as if they were upside down or sideways naturally. It was amazing…Escher’s amazing!

Thank you…Love and light to you,
Lainee

hi everybody,Escher, a great artist, who plays with your eyes and your mind.i remember that he was inspired by old paintings of “moyen-âge” also.this painting could be also realistic in space, like the “space vehicles” of the movie “2001″, and the international station of space now, and also some mathematics theories of the universe,of the space-time,as kind of system.a lot of people say that we have to mistrust about illusion, that true, because we needed a lot of time to understand and to check that the sun wasn’t a circle, and also the earth is round etc…

WITHOUT STEPPING ON WHAT’S BELOW US NO WAY WE CAN GET TO THE TOP. IF WE WILL ONLY PULL OURSELVES UP WE EVENTUALLY BECOME WEAK AND FALL DEAD ON THE ROCKS BELOW, THAT ONCE WE REFUSED TO STEP ON.

WE SHALL RESPECT NATURE WITHIN OURSELVES AND AROUND OURSELVES, ALWAYS.

AND NATURE IS DIVINE.

Fascinating ! I don’t know this artist. I love when he tells people about his art: “All this’s nothing compared to what I see in my head.” Apparently, he has never imposed limits as Erik Weihenmayer. These men, in different areas, Grow the soul of the world and we enjoy. Thank you very much for sharing :)

A wonderful panoramic view of … Escher’s painting, but a panoramic image of LIFE, the Eternal NOW and the loneliness of .. incarnated Souls. The unending .. circles and … ladders. Sometimes for a .. minute – a life – in Eternity, we meet other souls playing games or walking with us..
Other’s have just started the ascendancy, some walk into .. darkness like shadows and .. outside, like in the Plato’s cave, there IS the LIGHT. The real life.

Panoramic view= the miracle of .. technology; moving into time and space!! Thank you, dearest Paulo Coelho, for sharing and .. happy Sunday.
LOVE,
Thelma xxx

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”
