Father Alan Jones says that building our soul requires Four Invisible Forces, namely love, death, power and time. It is necessary to love because we are loved by God. It is necessary to be conscious of death in order to understand life better. One has to fight in order to grow – but without falling into the trap of the power that we obtain in doing so, because we know that such power is worth nothing. And lastly, it is necessary to accept that our soul – although eternal – is at this moment caught in the web of time, with all its opportunities and limitations.
First Force: Love
Rabbi Iaakov’s wife was always looking for an excuse to argue with her husband. Iaakov never answered her provocations.
Until one night when, during a dinner with some friends, the rabbi had a ferocious argument with his wife to the surprise of all at table.
“What happened?” they asked. “Why did you break your habit of never answering?”
“Because I realized that what bothered my wife most was the fact that I remained silent. Acting in this way, I remained far from her emotions. My reaction was an act of love, and I managed to make her understand that I heard her words.”
Second Force: Death
As soon as he died, Juan found himself in a very beautiful place, surrounded by all the comfort and beauty that he had dreamed of.
A figure dressed in white came up to him and said, “You are entitled to anything you want.”
Enchanted, Juan did everything he had dreamed of during life. After many years of pleasure, he sought out the figure in white. He said that he had experienced everything and that now he needed a little work to make him feel useful.
“That’s the only thing I cannot get for you,” said the figure in white.
“But I’ll spend eternity dying of boredom! I’d much rather be in hell!”
“And where do you think you are?”
Third Force: Power
“I’ve spent a good part of the day thinking about things that I should not think about, desiring things that I should not desire, planning to do things that I should not do.”
The master pointed to a plant and asked the disciple if he knew what it was.
“It’s a belladonna. It can kill you if you eat the leaves. But it can’t kill you just by looking at it. Likewise, negative desires can cause no harm – if you don’t let yourself be seduced by them.”
Fourth Force: Time
A carpenter and his apprentices were traveling through the province of Qi in search of building materials. They saw a giant tree; five men holding hands could not encompass its girth, and its crown reached almost to the clouds.
“Let’s not waste our time with this tree,” said the master carpenter. “It would take us forever to cut it down. If we wanted to make a ship out of that heavy trunk, the ship would sink. If we tried to use it to build a roof, the walls would have to be specially reinforced.”
The group continued on its way. One of the apprentices remarked, “Such a big tree and no use to anyone!”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” said the master carpenter. “The tree was true to its own destiny. If it had been like all the others, we would have cut it down. But because it had the courage to be different, it will remain alive and strong for a long time.”

To be diffrent can both positive and negative…
But as long as he or she is strong enough, right side can outweight the other side. To me, both are not easy, though..

The reason we are here is to understand the following:
1. Who are we
2. Who is God
3. What is our relationship with God.
This is called to understand: Relation, process and Goal.
The ultimate goal is to attain the Love of God, which is eternally there in all of us, but it’s dormant right now, dut o ignorance. With proper process and knowledge(self realisation) we can awaken the true love and understand our true identity as soul and not as body.

TREE STORY
This teh master said and teh tree suddenly felt happy and sad too. Happy because he had been enjoying life for so long and now with master carpenters belssings he will continue to enjoy his existance much longer, but memeories of his olden days, brought back the time he had decided to be diffrent. As the great author paulo had said in his cycling race metaphor ( it was a litereate tree ), he was not alone in the begining, many like minded tress who were bored ‘being same’ had decided to be diffrent, to grow faster than others. Of the many now only one other tree had remained like that, rest all were gone, long gone. A lot of these fast growing trees were cut down by the same master carpenter when he had come earlier to look for wood, at that time most trees of this jungle were short growing at lesisurly pace, after a forest fire. But these young daredevils had grown more and were then as big as the rest of teh trees now. After this, a few years later a great hurricane had come, and in that all but two such long trees remained, one was this nameless tree and the other some distance. He remembered all his ‘freinds’ and said a silent prayer for them.
had it been worth it, yes it had thought the tree, for in his success in achiving what many freinds set out to achive, in a way teh soul of those old daredevil tress, now long gone had been satiated, he was standing tall, not alone but with and on behalf of all those ‘freinds’.
while our brave tree was thinking thus, a group of modern, scietific, wall street listed, timber firm with chainsaws and big machines were marching down near teh forest and they were eyeing this tall tree which was visible from such afar, with very keen interest.

and who said love is only reflected in one way? it funny how we are always complaining by the end of a days work that we are so exhausted yet if we end up in heaven we shall have almost no work to do but bumming… Thank you Paulo

Love:
The worst in life is to be ignored by someone you like.
Feeling useless is the HELL.
Death:
So that you can feel valuable and useful you need LOVE of the others.
Power:
Don`t waste your time on things which are not good for you – it costs only TIME.
Time:
Swim against the stream and you will be someone special – required a lot of POWER.
Wow, if you effectuate this to your life you are a powerful human being – so let`s start.

paulo has been my source of inspiration since last year when i started reading him. I got his name out of nowhere ( nobody recommended me or i even didnt hear about him ). and suddenly he has become a part of my life, encouraging me in every steps of life. Power? the real power si power with (onnes) not power over (ego)
Time? We perceive time becouse of our memory (past) and our immagination (future) but the key is to live in the momment and be present; since you acheive the living in now, you will understand that there is no time like we perceive it, but only absolute; everithing is happening on the very momment; the past, present and future are all the same, hear and now.

Some people I imagine have all four forces working for them and surplus force to boot. Is the aquisition of these forces natural, spiritual, by chance or developed? If it was developed how would you develop it in others? Or does everyone obtainthese forces in their own way or others not at all?

Yes its true if you think, implement and live differently without following blind. this difference in thoughts and opinion, keeps you live each day and with this each day is different for you from your previous days.

I so like the way the power of Time is explained. WE hold the perfect timing, it is within us to become exceptional to grow in a very unique way, to be respected, be understood and to be a good person along with these we’ll know the reason of our existence. So its a matter of waiting and while waiting doing the best for us to be molded perfectly, just like that tree untouched and destined to live forever.
