I don’t want to offend you (Islamic tradition)

by Paulo Coelho on February 3, 2011

During his pilgrimage to Mecca, a holy man began to feel the presence of God.

In the midst of a trance he knelt down, hid his face and prayed:
“Lord, I ask for only one thing in life: that I be given the grace of never offending you.”

“I cannot grant you that grace,” answered the Almighty. ‘If you don’t offend me I shall have no reason to pardon you.

” If I have no need to pardon you, soon you will also forget the importance of mercy towards others.

“So go on your way with Love and let me grant pardon now and again so that you don’t forget that virtue as well.”

A man incontemplation without guidance can go wrong. Ask for Gods guidance….for guidance. Offending does make the other lesser but You.

t only shows that God is willing to embrace our own imperfections…
and He uses our own imperfections, for us:

- to know that He is there for us at the end of broken dreams..
- to be a forgiver for most unknown secrets
- to be a healer for every heart that’s been wounded
- to set our spirit free in the imprisoned feelings of the past…
- to be a teacher from a mind of confusion
- to be a FATHER in the midst of feeling of fears and abandonement…
- to be a FRIEND in the midst of helplessness…
- to be a BROTHER… who knows better…

if things seems wrong, I do hope that we may all realize that
God’s plan is better compared to our disappointments…

hii…
people forgive and in return should be forgiven. for whatever they do… god makes them do.. some for the learning and teachings while other for experience and he the sole super power keeps a balance in between the happy and sad that he gives us.
but we are unable to interpret, understand, and judge his work. and then we doubt in his doing.

To not offending God isn’t easy, but is possible. The even most difficult task is not offending our Higher Self (what leds us back to the point the old man was in).

I like to think, similar to the “live by the sword, die by the sword” pronouncement, that we find ourselves judged by our gods only because we too often judge.

Were we to love in the spirit of mutuality and reciprocity, free of the O-so-human need to put rules around how to love and live life, then we wouldn’t be judged. In fact, a life lived in love, free from judging, is in no need of pardon. It receives only love.

Forgiveness is what is needed. Forgive your enemy, give him your love and mercy, and thank him for the great services he has done to you, for helping you to learn to love and forgive more.

Much Love

Very beautiful..This short story conveys the message that everything that exists or believed to be present has a own reason for its existence.Imagining our-self to be the person in place of the Man in the story,if God grants us that wish, then this human mind starts traveling in a path where it believes that its not offending God and later it becomes like whatever it does is right..even the wrong deeds..!!! Finally we take the place of God,thus finally forgetting the one who granted that wish..!

No matter how much we’re hurt from people we cannot give pardon. Only Allah grants pardon. Pardon is one of His Names: Al-Ghafour. Meaning: Pardoner. And no one can give it to us than Him. Amen.
