I have no idea where I am going

by Paulo Coelho on February 15, 2011

EM PORTUGUES AQUI: Senhor, eu não sei onde estou indo
EN ESPANOL AQUI: No tengo idea de adónde voy

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going,
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.

Nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think I am following your will
does not mean that I am actually doing so.

But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.

I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road,
though I may know nothing about it.

I will not fear, for you are ever with me,
and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

in Thoughts in Solitude by Thomas Merton

It is a prayer that every one do share.
I know I do.

Its important to not fear what you cannot see or know.
Have faith that God is there to guide.
Even if most of the time you are not sure.

I think all it is similar in the first part of the Holy Quran: 1. The Opening (Al-Fátíha) This chapter has 7 verses. 1. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. 2. Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; 3. Most Gracious, Most Merciful; 4. Master of the Day of Judgment. 5. Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek. 6. Show us the straight way, 7. The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray. http://www.kuranikerim.com/english/1.html

Oh my God! This prayer came through perfect timing.. I am just so lost now and really scared and I don’t know where I’m heading. This is the prayer that I often utter every time I ask for HIS guidance. I have a copy of this in my booklet. I can’ explain how I feel right now, but my God. Maybe HE’s already sending me the signs I’ve been asking from HIM.

Thanks, Mr. Paulo Coelho. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You have been an instrument…

I cannot thank you enough for this post. I recently lost my job and in turn lost my sense of purpose and this past Christmas my best friend was diagnosed with MS at a young age. We both have found some solace in the words in this poem and the fact that God has a plan whether we know it or not!

Spread good feelings and feel the powerful energy swapping the direction of your life.. Do not afraid to take a stand! If you fall then learn how to stand up again and see that you are always over the ground..

Quoting from Rabindra Nath Tagore,
“The night when my doors were broken by the storm I thought you have deserted me as I could not see you in my room.
But in the morning when I look around I see you are standing at every corner with full vigor.
My broken room has become a glorious space with your delighted presence when everything was dark before me”.
Trust in God and all the good things in life will be there leaving aside your agony, faithlessness and misery.

Oh God, this is my every morning prayer, therefore the day goes by and things do happen, and i see angels around me, people sent by God to fulfill his will…
However i wonder will my path be the one that will make me happy, or am I overlooking happiness by walking my path too fast…?
