A Warrior of Light needs patience and speed at the same time.
The two biggest mistakes of a strategy are
a]to act prematurely
bto let the opportunity pass by.
To avoid making these mistakes, the warrior copes with each situation as if it were unique, and applies no formulas, prescriptions or the opinions of others.
Caliph Moauiyat asked Omar Ben Al-Aas what was the secret of his great political skill:
“I have never gotten involved in any matter without first studying the way out;
“on the other hand, I have never become involved and wanted to get out right away,” was his answer.

be patient, be prepared, dont fight a war you cant win.
Then he must not have been in love before. Because there is no exit when it comes to love.
be authentic
I believe that the best is a good combination of mind and heart.
Hey again…well i guess all of us have patience and speed installed into our systems inherently..its just a matter of choosing the one which makes the most appropriate response for a given situation…cant be patient alllll the time n neither can we rush thru always…
he did not know the exit door ! abimanu is there in the ‘scene’ to tell us teh importance of knowing teh exit door and also that sometimes even when we don’t know teh exit door, we have to enter the fight and maybe even perish ! so be it !

Sir,
thanks for sharing this! we should think before we do anything. An outcome is always worse when pre-meditated with immatureness…
This is v good in deed but i wanna tell that his name is not Omar but Amro Ben Al-Aas..Thank you.
First step… follows second step…and do’nt sleep!!!!
nice posts, thanks for sharing. salam blogger indonesia
Dear Sir,
I’m very patient, but sometimes slow, and then I do mistakes. I know it doesn’t make me less a warrior of Light, because I continue on and not give up the fight. I would like to learn to balance these things? Wait for the right moment and take the opportunity to act. I can do it.
Thank you.
Katarina
u’r r human, so long as u dn’t let the dream die, so long as u keep on taking your steps, one at a time, u rejoice !

When entering a situation one should always know where the exit door is.
If One do not know where the exit door is, one should look or ask.. there plenty of nice warriors out there that will help one find the exit. However, one must know or be able to identify those who are telling the truth and not deviating one from the path towards the exit.
True…But do we always get to choose the situations we are in?
so, true. kealan.
darn, I am too much pisces. I just float.
reading this again , i feel that the best thing that sums it up is waiting for the right time to shoot the arrow toward the horizon..
Love and Gratitude

Amicalement
Brigitte
(I like very much this sentence which you wrote and who summarizes perfectly, I find, the thought of Mr Coehlo.

I Love that one ! So true ! Thanks Paulo :) xx
I couldn’t agree more! :)
Sometimes it is not so easy to reduce speed –
sometimes patience is an art
Finding, holding and giving the balance in life is a virtue you have to control and maintain
Tricky tricky pretty tricky.
Even worst for a Leo like me. Impulsive, but in the other hand from fear of acting too fast I wait too much, and I can be more patient than I should soooooo…
This was MY formula:
I can’t work a strategy on that so forget at all about thinking of this as a problem, so just do what you feel like in your heart. “IT WORKS!!!”
But you have to take the risk of loosing again, because you never know in advance the result and sometimes “you are just meant” to loose. :)))
Wise words Olta. I, too, always try to follow my heart, but I need to remember that I can’t know the outcome. Sometimes we are meant to lose in order to learn.
sometimes my speed on knowing ways and solutions for anything make me over exited and in such some situations i become a fool of that situation……. i really try to be more patient……… thank you.
i have so many problems with patience , i am too impulsive, i have to learn the way of patience, hope i can, i gotta say i am inspired by you and i love your ideas, thank you for your book Valkyries, really made me feel better and gave me hope when i had none.
If I am not mistaken, I think you are referring to Amr Ben Al-Aas (not Omar)who was the chief of the army that opened Egypt (under the rule of Caliph Omar Ben Al- Khattab) and was very famous for his extreme intelligence. Is that right?
yes, u’r right Hoda, i heard this story about Amr Ben Al-Aas
thank you, I need this,
p.s. I’m sorry for my previous nasty words, you are what you seemed. thank you. please don’t think that I’m weird, I’m only human, and learning.
Patience is a teacher’s daily bread :) love it.Mr. paulo.thank you
GOD!Send me patience NOW!!
All my life being patient and nothing interesting happened to me.
Suddenly it appeared someting exciting and i didn´t know how to manage it, so it was a desaster and a big problem in my life; in front of that situation I became completely blind. Life has punished me for hearing my internal voice … speed is not good. Think before you act. Difficult.
Be like the flowing river… It’s neither late nor early!!!
A small correction his name is “AMR Ben Al-Aas”
I ‘am really happy to hear that’s some off western pepole know a great muslim character’s and thought’s …. Not only the faulse idea off muslim’s terror….
totally agree with you hadeel. Muslim leaders are great examples to the whole world. And about terrorism, it is not related to any religion,it is related to the person, they are bad people who can be muslim, christian or jewish by name only and any religion rejects them by all means
Agree with you Hadeel and we are proud of our old Muslim leaders and character`s.
Thank you for sharing your heart. Let the Light of all religion be brighter and stronger then the destruction caused in the name of religion. I like reading the comments in paulo coelho blog. Bring people together.
LA PACIENCIA ES EL ARTE DE ESPERAR Y SE LO LOGRA CON MADUREZ …. HAY MUCHA SABIDURIA EN AQUELLO !!!
A VITA GIA E UMA GUERRA.BISOGNA VIVERLA E VINCERE.BACI.
Well said, time or situation have its own momentum, without patience, either you will be early or late to act, could be a mishap!
Thanks for sharing
… And, the battle to the warrior is his life game… So, the real warrior is he who uses the strongest weapon ever, “Wiseness”!!! Since it is the general and the strongest of the keys of life…………..
God bless you
I love to be patient. It makes me feel relaxed.Oh God,help me to be patient.
We are using an expresion in Greece coming from Aristotelis philosophy that this is the “gold mean”, the desirable mibble. This is true but I think sometimes between (a) and (b) we need a little bit of luck too!
ha ha so funny … I just wrote yesterday that I need more patience *LOL*
I have a terrible cold that force me to have patience and I really dislike it !!!!
I have so much to do … I don´t have time for colds ;-)
have a nice weekend all <3
So funny, necause in my life too, I am trying to be patient, waiting to see what will happen to react as well as I can !
Nobody knows and are very surprised with me !
Finally I starting to live on my own ! Delicious !
Dear Prof, Wiseness is the general key of all the games… And, The real warrior is he who uses that strongest weapon, “Wiseness”…
Much love
What a good advice for this time of my life! I have just taken a important decision and I have applied a simmilar way to do it without know this. To work hardly in my new occupation and to have a alternative and personal way to the final of this time. I’ll print this text and I’ll put it near of me to don’t forget it. Thanks! ;)
1.
“I have never gotten involved in any matter without first studying the way out;
2.“on the other hand, I have never become involved and wanted to get out right away,” was his answer.
My former comment for this post was 30 June 2009! We have made a … circle; but also a .. spiral upwards!! Blessings.
The first reminds me of my logical attitude: to have and think in advance for the … second best.. option! The LAWYER’S thought: to think always ‘and then???’ and to think always ‘quicker’ than your ‘opponent’.
The 2 is the RIGHT OF CHOICE, which must be exercised WISELY. ;-))
LOVE,
Thelma xxx
sir paulo did it again… i feel bad a moment ago, thinking what was it i did wrong… and this post answered it for me…. thank you so much for lighting me up again.
