20 SEC REading: Joy and love

by Paulo Coelho on August 15, 2011

A believer approached Rabbi Moche of Kobryn and asked:
‘How should I best use my days so that God will be contented with my actions?’

‘There is only one possible option: to live with love,’ replied the Rabbi.

Minutes later, another follower approached him and asked the same question.
‘There is only one possible option: try to live with joy.’

The first follower was taken aback.
‘But the advice you gave me was different!’

‘Not at all,’ said the rabbi. ‘It was exactly the same.’

Saluti gioiosi, Paulo.

“Man was made for joy and woe
Then when this we rightly know
Through the world we safely go.
Joy and woe are woven fine
A clothing for the soul to bind.”

Love & Time

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left, except for Love.

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said,
“Richness, can you take me with you?”
Richness answered, “No, I can’t. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you.”

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. “Vanity, please help me!”
“I can’t help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat,” Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked, “Sadness, let me go with you.”
“Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!”

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

Suddenly, there was a voice, “Come, Love, I will take you.” It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed to the elder, Love asked Knowledge, another elder, “Who Helped me?”
“It was Time,” Knowledge answered.
“Time?” asked Love. “But why did Time help me?”
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, “Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is.”

Such a little word,
Like three tiny seeds,
Sewn in ink,
That runs and seeps,
Spreading with feather soft tendrils,
That if they could touch you cheek,
Would spark creases and dimples,
And wrinkles around your eyes,
With tears soon after,
Shed without regret,
All the hurt you never faced,
And pieces of your broken heart,
Leave them here in a puddle,
In strains of raucous laughter,
Or with silent belly clenched shudders,
It grows,
It cleans,
This laughter that Joy brings.

May the God and Goddess inside you dance
So that you feel the warmth of their embrace
The tenderness of their gaze
And the pleasure of their love

When the Gods inside you dance
Feel the lightness of their stance
The steadiness of their step
And their joy in motion

What I cannot feel the Gods will not reveal
No more love than the love I know or show
No more beauty than my heart can behold
No more joy than the tiny cup that I fill up

Where is the source of joy
What gives rise to happiness
The place of peace and tenderness
It is your very self… right before you mind

You are the source of your own love&joy
It is in you not out there in the world
Bless You All
LoveM<3

You are the lover
There is no one else but you
Who can give love life

Either or: joy and love – one and the same!!! Try that and more – satisfaction, bliss, happiness, friendliness etc….. To try and focus on the positives will not only make God ‘content’!

Without love how sad world is! The flowers without scent, the sky grey, the world without hope, the children without smile, and I? I’ll be nothing without you. My love, you are my joy, my air, my light. How sad my life is without you! When I’ll die, I’ll be sad, I’ll not see and kiss you more, I’ll not live more in your eyes. How cold is the world, without love! How cold is my life without you! Who are you? You are the love, are you true? Are you pretence? But love is a magic madness, and I am crazy for you.

LOVE does not always equal joy. Love can be painful aswell as joyous. Joy can be born from happiness, exhiliration.Or good news. Love and Joy are positive feelings and a full heart. They can be interlinked. The Rabbi could include peace, compassion and many other spiritual qualities in his recipe for good living.

Hello Paulo, You have reached out to me for years now sowing seeds of wisdom. Thank you. Now, I’m reaching out to you from the icy attic of Europe. Northern Norway. If fate permits this will reach you. If it doesn’t it’s of no fault to the cause. I need to make my way from this cold island rock I call home to the distant city of Santiago. I’ve entered the final stage of a photo contest where I’m among 6 finalists. The winner walks away with 100,000 Norwegian Crowns. This would come in handy on a long distance voyage. But, then again, if I’m meant to be a pilgrim money is not an object… If you see fit to support me, the link will lead you to my picture where all you need to do is press the beating heart (once a day until the end of August). The picture with the most “likes” wins. Maybe you could pass on my link? I’m grateful for help. Be blessed and stay blessed. Erik Baard Svendsen ;^)

If you learn to live in joy, in love….you will never be broken….. no need to bring smile forcefully… joy is spontaneous when you are in love(no bonding)…

Give and you shall receive…..don’t just give TO receive. The receiving is actually in the giving. To expect anything in return is to miss the point. It’s the hardest and the easiest thing in the world to do.

Does this joy have to come from sadness and pain at a certain point to transform itself into joy? or can it be only joy? I fought all my life to escape sadness and I was able to do so for 13 years. It was love the one who saved me. But suddenly God granted me my dearest wish and since then I’m in a rollercoaster of pain and joy. I don’t want pain, but if I let my pain go looking for peace my joy also leaves me alone.
