The hidden Player

by Paulo Coelho on September 24, 2011

The warrior always hears the words of some wise people, such as those of T.H. Huxley:

“The consequences of our actions, are the scarecrows of fools, and the beacons of lovers.

“The chess-board is the world, the pieces are the phenomena of the universe.
‘The rules of the game are what we call the laws of Nature.
‘The player on the other side is hidden from us. We know that his play is always fair, just, and patient.”

It is up to the warriors to take up the challenge.
They know God will not allow His chosen ones to pretend not to know the rules of the game.

After 50 years in life I found out so many things that I should have done before. But during those years, I have no time to deviate of the rules in life as follows:
1. You must have a good job with a good pay.
2. You have to work and maintain your job in order to have it all the time.
3. You must be a good worker to all of your co-employees and superiors.
4. But ultimately you got boredom and you resign to find another new job.
5. You must be good in interpersonal relation, and this is the rule in life that we should master in the first place.

Intriguing to see this subject on here as it ties in beautifully with the many chequered floors depicted in many of the sybolic paintings, (and certain ritual religious orders) alongside the actual floor at Rennes Chateaux that I have been looking into.
I was glad to see he question regarding the “castling” move in the game of chess. As we look at this “game” as the game of “Life”, the many ‘calculated’ moves we make, decisions we take, alongside some that we walk ‘straight into without thinking’……. the ‘castling’ move then, surely must be ‘The One Time’ we have the only opportunity to ‘switch’ ……. you’re only allowed to do this move ‘once’ in ‘the game’ ……therefore, there must be one chance you get to alter your position to ‘the safe place’ in Life?
Could this be the New 5D Earth and it’s changing of Her vibratory Shift, we will only get the one chance to go with The Earth to Her new glory, in the flesh?

…“Yes it is a very plain elementary truth, that the life, the fortune, and the happiness of every one of us, and, more or less, of those who are connected with us, do depend on our knowing something of the rules of a game infinitely more difficult and complicated than chess. It is a game that has been played for untold ages, every man and woman of us being one of the two players in a game of his or her own. …(The chessboard is the world…his play is always fair, just and patient.)… But we also know, to our cost, that he never overlooks a mistake, or makes the smallest allowance for ignorance. To the man that plays well, the highest stakes are paid, with that sort of overflowing generosity with which the strong shows delight in strength. And one who plays ill is checkmated – without haste, but without remorse.

My metaphor will remind some of you of the famous picture in which Retzsch has depicted Satan playing at chess with a man for his soul. Substitute for the mocking fiend in that picture a calm, strong angel who is playing for love, as we say, and who would rather lose than win – and I would accept it as an image of human life.”…

I love the way She moves, He thinks and He moves a piece.
I love the way She plays, and He plays his game.
If chess was a game of Love there would be no loser, She thinks..
If chess is a game of Love, He thinks, I might let her win this one… :)

Maybe the chess analogy works best when you imagine you are one of the chess pieces
Possibly we are all humble pawns and even the fancy pieces with their clever moves
Are moved by the Hand of the Hidden Player and He is probably playing with Herself
Chess you PawnM;)

Perfect. When I played regularly I could follow the threads of a game up to 4 moves ahead. And there was always the unknown, the unexpected move from your opponent that would test your resolve and your courage. I always had at least 3 plans of attack in mind, but each plan changed subtly with every move. Those that choose a goal and fear to make a move will not win, until something stirs them to action and all hesitation is quashed.

who is the hidden player?….and even if he plays fair, why is his goal to trap the king…to make it impossible for him to move and thereby win the game?

I only played chess with my father when I was a child. already then I hated it that there was in the first row the “farmers”, the common folk, that got sacrificed first.
you can make some space & then move out the more “powerful” figures. but the real game always started when sufficient little figures of the common folks died & there was space to “fight”.

I never thought about using the chess game in a symbolic way, but how I played it tells me a lot about me.

affirmations are in vain. only thoughts are dual, not the life. it is good that human self-confidence is untrue as long as one has no faith in and great respect for the essence of each other – the seed of the one.

I hear the words. I do not know whether to believe them. Chess is a game where the goal is to defeat the opponent. This is not the case here. I think life is a game which you play with God, not against him.. The rules of the game are very simple, so it becomes extremely difficult. The laws of nature are certainly not the rules. That would be boring. They belong to the board. The comparison of Huxley seems to me briefly thought, in my opinion. Nothing comes from nothing. The universe was created out of nothing. God does not play with us, he watched our game in his universe. He has prepared everything, and what we make of it is our decision. When we play against each other, play against him, we will perish. This is the true challenge of a warrior. The consequences of this game would be interesting. Let’s play together.

I wish you all a wonderful evening

Anne, I am fascinated by your words, the explanation of that move: “called castling; where you move two pieces in one move and the castle and the king change positions..and when the hidden player has put all his effort to attack the king, suddenly the king disappears.. much like the moon when it enters an eclipse..” I have to think on this – I need time to digest it – but your words seem to me as a message I must not overlook or miss. Thank you…

Is it allowed to use the symbol (sword in a circle) to show ones own effort to lfe according to the way of a warrior of the light? Or is it illegal/forbidden??

Einstein’s Theory of Relativity Challenged

Einstein’s theory of relativity — that nothing can go faster than the speed of light — was challenged Thursday by new findings from one of the world’s foremost laboratories. European researchers said they clocked a subatomic particle called a neutrino going faster than the 186,282 miles per second that has long been considered the cosmic speed limit. The claim was met with skepticism, with one outside physicist calling it the equivalent of saying you have a flying carpet. Researchers are not ready to proclaim a discovery yet, asking other physicists to independently verify their findings.

The LAWS of NATURE!!! It seems that there are no LAWS! Or, in my opinion there are Laws that need to be .. broken and as the Ancient Greeks used to say: in every RULE there is an .. exception! My intuition was always ‘telling’ me that the LIGHT is the … carrier of LOVE! Time and Space belong to the material Cosmos! But He IS, timeless, omnipresent..

I am not too familiar with the game of chess, seems complicated to me and political orientated, might put the opponents at a disadvantage.
Must be why I prefer tennis.
Tennis is great because there is always love, set and match.

You are reading my mind lately.. first with the alchemy post, solve et coagula , now with this :) .. lately I ve been thinking a lot about chess and life..
how every single move counts.. how every single action matters.. how every little thing we do has its price.. how you cannot undo, once you took it, the decision you took to move one piece in the chessboard, how you keep your word, how everything is possible, how you protect your king (your real essence, your dream, etc) when you are attacked..
however mostly i am fascinated most specifically about this one move, the one called castling; where you move two pieces in one move and the castle and the king change positions..and when the hidden player has put all his effort to attack the king, suddenly the king disappears.. much like the moon when it enters an eclipse..
Life is really a fascinating game.. a game of chess.. everything can happen with God on your side, everything is possible in this board of black and white :)

Love and Gratitude

“there is only a way to dominate the nature that it is respecting it”. I don’t remember who wrote this phrase. I think We dont realize that we are ‘just a part of the nature and we have to respect it because it is so much stronger than us.
