The boy was walking to buy bread when the mayor of the city crossed the street.
‘The reason he is so powerful, is because, he’s made a pact with the devil,’ a very devout woman in the street told the boy.
Some time later, when travelling to another town, the boy saw a beautiful corn field. He asked who the owner was.
‘All this land belongs to the same man. I’d say the Devil had a hand in that.’ – answered one of the villagers.
At this very moment, a beautiful woman walked past the boy. A priest also saw her and said aloud:
‘That woman is in the services of Satan!’
From then on, the boy decided to seek the Devil out. One day he managed to see him face to face.
‘They say you can make people powerful, rich, and beautiful.’
‘To be totally honest, this is not true’ replied the Devil.
‘You have just been listening to the views of those who are trying to promote me.’

since when did the devil told the truth? of course he’ll deny it is not he’s doing…he’s the devil for God’s sake.
aren´t you promoting him?
there is old joke in Pakistan
—-
a man was caught by the police and was brought to the court of law for his despicable crime. the judge after hearing has inquired the man: “what were you thinking ? why do you commit this hideous crime?”.
the man replied, ” it was not me, it was the devil who force me to do so”
suddenly there was darkness in the room and The Satan him self appears in the court. he slapped the man really hard and said to him: “you filthy lair what you have done was never ever even come to my mind”

we use to put everything on Satan we never think about our own actions ..
Bravo…Salute !!

Greed, envy, discontentment, lust…the devils are within. We seek them, we find them
Dear, Paulo.
I’m so happy to have you in my life, your’e making my mind, heart and life brighter, you’re my inspiration. I have allways wanted to become a writter, but I start writting only when I found You (Your books). It’s becouse I was affraid of what others will say, I was affraid of power and light that’s inside of me, I think, it’s in everyone… but You, You hellped me to start trust my feelings, myself and stop beeing affraid. I actually do use your books like guides, reread them time to time, and I have had underline the most touching parts of them for myself. Thank you!
This short story is such a true :)
Have a beautiful day,
you’re my favourite and most inspiring writter.
With love, Dace. :)
but the devil is never honest because he is the father of lies :)
and are u promoting him?
May I put this beautiful story on my blog, Sir? I will quote it and ask people what they think about it. :) Your wisdom somehow always succeed at making me a very positive person. Glad to read your books and of course your blog.
Something in this story got me to wonder. Whether this story itself is promoting the Devil or this story is denouncing him. The priest’s part was smartly played. However, we Muslims have the belief that everything beautiful is from God and we have the Proverb that says “اللهُ جميلٌ يُحبُ الجمال” which translates in English as “God is beautiful and loves the beauty”. Which goes against the saying of the priest about the woman.
it took me some day`s of thinking about this blog, the boy needs bread and so the boy should concentrate on what he needs, bread.
the mayor should start to support those who needs help, instead of getting promotion from other people, devil should be gone
It is true ~ we create so much negativity with wasted petty jealousy, and jealousy is the root of so many evil actions.
No ideas are self employed.. No concepts are self empowered..
To who do they present themselves.. who gives them the light of day..
We empower ideas & concepts.. Through our interest, attention and belief..
All these concepts & ideas.. merge in that Realisation.. they are transcended..
In the light of consciousness..The Presence in which everything rises & falls..
The One light that we all are.. AND.. That which still remains..
I did not understand the goal of this
it seems a wonderful story but unfortunately I did not get the purpose :(
Wow ! Every Single Person Has His Own Power To Enlight Himself .. And His Way Of Destroying it .. AWESOME ! :)
WTF ………… Who will try to promote The Satan by remarking like in this way as the author remarked!!! I doubt, whether the Writer has a hand in that …..
ah…so you are also promoting the devil…
In the end, Devil is also a person who has flaws as well as virtues. People who are not able to see him as a whole and judge him only by his flaws condemned him as such : Devil. They are afraid of their own imagination and that is why they can not see him. A boy met him because he was free from established concepts and thus, a truth was revealed… ;))))
”’Devil. They are afraid of their own imagination and that is why they can not see him”’. Can anybody see it!?
brief but very true
brief but true
i didnt understand his one
Paulo Paulo paulo
So true Sir.
Can I translate that in Greek and repost to my blog? It was awesome :-)
of course
meaning that envious people who are not content with what they have and judge the ones who have more than them, because they don’t want to say that the way they are is the making of their own hands.
The temting devil indeed, what a learnig for the boy!
really amazing sir.
There might be another answer to the boy’s dilemma.
”’Oh dear, you are just a kid. The grown-up people try to make themselves comphortable toward the life situations thinking that they are educating you. Usually they think they are right”’.
Only if one believes in evil, evil happens. Apparently, it is very hard for some people to see the glass half full…
it is envy and jealousy. the heart cannot own or have the thing it desires. so, it destroys the desired thing or tries to fool himself/herself that the object is ugly.
Exactly! That’s the best description or at least that is how I understood it. :)

Hmmmmmmm……….. isn’t it the darker side of our own self ?
awesome story dont believe in devil…
