What I really like about this is its not pro-legalization because drugs are great (like the Union was) but pro-legalization because the war isn't working. That's great, but if you really want to know why the US is pushing so hard on this, follow the money. Tobacco, alcohol and pharmaceuticals are powerful lobbies in the United States. It is not in their interests to legalize drugs.

Everyone should watch this. Why is this not on national TV?

Something different has to be done. We have the Mexican drug cartel working right here in my area of the US -- Southern Utah. There are places where drugs, i.e. marijuanna, can be grown and harvested without being detected; this is a vast area. Adventurers like myself have to be careful not to happen upon theses farming activities or we could be gunned down. Armed men guard the crop closely. Sad that we have lost some of our freedoms because of the drug trade. The Mexican drug cartel would never have been able to get away with these actions ten years ago. It's sad to feel the need to pack protection. The world leaders definitely need to rethink how to handle this. Ignoring it is certainly not an option. Legalizing it could be, and then we could let Darwinism take its course.

"The most fundamental step that we have to take is to realize that addiction is a medical problem, and therefore addicts need to be treated medically, not criminally." It makes sense!

I'd like my kids to watch this great documentary. I didn't vote because I don't think that war on drugs should be stopped. We need to change strategy, but not to back off whatsoever. Generations of people are on stake, our kids lost to society.... How can we afford such loss?

How much suffering around the world for an illusion of fleeting pleasure, which destroys your ability to think and makes dissolving in smoke your free will?
How many deaths and sorrows, all, to enrich criminals who create other criminals in a downward spiral.
Who will have the first, courage to say: NO this vicious cycle will not pass through me....
