The conservative radio host, Scott Hennen, asked Cheney if he agreed, “a dunk in water is a no-brainer” if it would unearth information of pending attacks and save lives.
Cheney replied: “Well, it’s a no-brainer for me.” He went on to say that he was not condoning torture but said you can have a robust interrogation program without torture.

Torture is simply reaching into ones soul and pushing buttons until one breaks.
i am very sorry i should have not said “torture is simply” because there is nothing simple about torture, it should be stopped.
Torture, inexcusable word, repugnant doing. Comes in different shapes and bottles. Can be self inflicted and produced by others in several psichological ways. Not even recommended for those whom might deserve to pay for the most terrible crimes.
Stop.
If I lived back when the English first came to Australia possibly my answer would have been different to whether we kill, but I don’t, I’m talking about now.
Nobody is forcing people to live in tin sheds, everybody in Australia is equally eligible to receive the “dole” unemployment benefits, what you do with that money then creates the situation you live in. If there were no opportunities for Indigenous people in Australia then how is it that we have Indigenous politicians, actors, athletes etc. How did they do it?
As to asylum seekers, yes, those who didn’t have papers were locked up for exceedingly long periods and that is awful. But when you say for no good reason, do you mean to say that there should be no guidelines on how to enter or live in a country? I’m not saying that we shouldn’t accept people from other countries into Australia, I would not be here if that were the case. The people who had papers identifying that they were definitely asylum seekers didn’t stay locked up for long periods, only those who came with no forms of identification for some reason.
I don’t doubt that Australia could carry the burdon of many more people coming into the country to live, we do though have water shortages, and farmers who cannot sustain the land at the moment - obviously Australia musn’t be that bad to live in otherwise why would so many asylum seekers choose here.
Wow… ok something that is our generation., the government taking away indigenous children , putting them with ‘white’ families, is that not torture? Government refusing to say sorry for the scare of having to payout., how do you think that effects thinking, but we solve it by throwing them money, then wonder why they don’t use it to our western standards. IMHO unbelievable arrogance.
The funny thing about what you say on asylum seekers is that if Jesus himself returned tomorrow and decided to visit lovely Australia with out his proper papers he would just be another refugee in a camp under armed guard. I believe compassion should be universal. It is amazing that we don’t start hearing about Australia’s problems, water shortages, etc., until someone wants to come and share.
Jesus never refused anyone., what gives us the right to., then go to church on Sunday and pray for forgiveness of our sins. Anyway back to work in my lucky country.
