QUESTION: WHY DID I DECIDE TO POST THESE BOOKS HERE?
ANSWER: First, because I need to write, and I write more than the market can absorve.
Second, because I believe in free contents.
Third: although I wish I could share all my books, the publishing houses have the translation rights. So these are the only ones that I have the translation rights.
QUESTION: WHAT I EXPECT YOU TO DO?
ANSWER: Fist, I want you to read and enjoy. It supports several different platforms, including iPhone.
Second: - there are a lot of local libraries that don’t have funds to purchase books. You can print and give to your local library
- Hay muchas bibliotecas que no tienen dinero para comprar libros. Ud. puede imprimir e hacer una donacion.
- Existem muitas bibliotecas que não tem dinheiro para comprar livros, ou são obrigadas a compra-los do governo. Voce pode imprimir e fazer uma doaçao para sua biblioteca local.
Third: - the same is valid for hospitals and prisons. People have plenty of time and nothing new to read. I count on you to do a community service, and again - print and distribute for free in these places
- El mismo es válido para hospitales y prisiones. Gente ahi tiene tiempo para leer, pero les falta material. Cuento con Ud. para un trabajo social - imprimir y enviar los libros para estas instituiciones.
- A mesma coisa se passa com hospitais e prisões. As pessoas tem tempo, mas nao tem material para ler. Conto com voce para fazer sua parte no trabalho social de melhorar as condições dos outros, imprimindo e entregando gratuitamente a estas instituições.

Somebody recommended the Alchemist to a Presidential Aspirant, Norbert Mao Uganda. I am a book lover. I have insatiable quest for books.
May, I ask can I translate your free books into our local dialect, Luo, in Northern Uganda. We as a region have suffered untold LRA Conflict for over 23 years while the world is watching. The people have lost their soul.The literacy levels here is about 40% and the HIV prevalency rates are at 13& twice the national figure
All we need now is well capture by Nasrudin’s assurance on The Worrior of Light, Vol 1 pg 46 as
“The best way of dominating a desire, is to satisfy
it. I would rather you had the sweets in your
bellies - their rightful place - than in your minds,
which should be filled with nobler things.”
This would be your contribution in helping them with love and care than alms as the UN Agencies are doing here.

I love your work, some books i still bought a copy of my own even if i already read it by borrowing someone else’s. I don’t usually buy books that way ’cause I go through books pretty fast and i can’t afford them, but Eleven minutes was the best book ever so i bought my own. :D
As for sharing these books u gave away for free, I just shared the French version to a friend right now. :P

Thank you Paulo, for the books you give to us. Your first book that I read was The Devil and Miss Prym, and since then I’ve become ur fan, coz that book was deep in its plots and contents, and it was also (sometimes) breathtaking… I also like The Alchemist and The Fifth Mountain. I don’t know how such coincidence as this could happen, but those two books were a reflection of my own life, especially that of The Fifth Mountain. Well… I read ur story in the preface of the book, and I think that what happen 2 me is similar.
In brief, Paulo, thanks for that all. By the way, I’ve some difficulties to find ur books in English. I live in Indonesia, and most of bookstores in my town don’t sell such books. Anyway, if those books were available, their prices would be so high that I can’t buy them. So, all ur books I have are translation into Indonesian. But, after all, I think reading them in English or even in ur native language will be a pure delight for me.
