Issue n°144: Manual for conserving paths

1] The path begins with a crossroads. There you can stop and think what direction to follow. But don’t spend too much time thinking or you’ll never leave the spot. Ask yourself the classic Castañeda question: which of these paths has a heart? Reflect a lot on the choices that lie ahead, but once you have taken the first step, forget the crossroads for ever or else you will always torture yourself with the useless question: “did I take the right path?” If you listened to your heart before making the first movement, you chose the right path.

2] The path doesn’t last for ever. It is a blessing to travel the path for some time, but one day it will come to an end, so always be prepared to take leave of it at any moment. However enraptured you may be at certain landscapes, or scared whenever you have to make a great effort to go ahead, don’t get too used to anything. Neither to the hours of euphoria, nor to the endless days when everything seems so difficult and progress is so slow. Don’t forget that sooner or later an angel will appear and your journey will reach an end.

3] Honor your path. It was your choice, your decision, and just as you respect the ground you step on, that ground will respect your feet. Always do what is best to conserve and keep your path and it will do the same for you.

4] Be well equipped. Carry a small rake, a spade, a penknife. Understand that penknives are no use for dry leaves, and rakes are useless for herbs that are deep-rooted. Know also what tool to use at each moment. And take care of them, because they are your best allies.

5] The path goes forward and backward. At times you have to go back because something was lost, or else a message to be delivered was forgotten in your pocket. A well tended path enables you to go back without any great problems.

6] Take care of the path before you take care of what is around you. Attention and concentration are fundamental. Don’t be distracted by the dry leaves at the edges or by the way that others are looking after their paths. Use your energy to tend and conserve the ground that accepts your steps.

7] Be patient. Sometimes the same tasks have to be repeated, like tearing up weeds or closing holes that appear after unexpected rain. Don’t let that annoy you - that is part of the journey. Even though you are tired, even though certain tasks are repeated so often, be patient.

8] Paths cross. People can tell what the weather is like. Listen to advice, and make your own decisions. You alone are responsible for the path that was entrusted to you.

9] Nature follows its own rules. In this way, you have to be prepared for sudden changes in the fall, slippery ice in winter, the temptations of flowers in spring, thirst and showers in the summer. Make the most of each of these seasons, and don’t complain about their characteristics.

10] Make your path a mirror of yourself. By no means let yourself be influenced by the way that others care for their paths. You have your soul to listen to, and the birds to tell what your soul is saying. Let your stories be beautiful and pleasant to everything around you. Above all, let the stories that your soul tells during the journey be echoed at each and every second of the path.

11] Love your path. Without this, nothing makes any sense.

The true scientist will eventually find that everything that happens has a meaning, in the sense that the present is always the necessary result of the past. He will thus find himself at the point from which the future developments are inevitable.

At first, this insight will make him feel sad; the solid foundation of his reasoning turned out to be a mere illusion.

However, his will now be in a position to better understand his own path. As a consequence there is no more regret or guilt.

He will look to the past only to establish the way forward.

I have walked my path for a long time now, a path which I have for so long wanted to end. The ground which I walk hurts me, thorns of rotten roses, carving through my feet.
But after reading this I realize how mutch I appreciate the roses as well as the thorns.

Beauty is gained in pain.

Thank you for amazing blogs.

Beautiful !

Only if I could remember ‘all this’ all the time. You say

“Attention and concentration are fundamental”,

but for my mind which gets so engrossed in my daily routine, but for my mind’s charecterstic of being like a monkey, getting distracted / jumping to this & that, catching the stimulus from ‘environment’ almost randomly, keeping to the path would have been so easy.

wishing luck & more to all wols and others too.

Thanks paulo, wol no. 1 ( hope u like that )

As I read the first few lines a thought came to me from my childhood.

When I was in school we were thought by Nuns. I remember one day we were speaking of the path to God and Paradise.

She said to the class that the path is not easy, at the crossroads we can take the highway. This road is easy and leads to the Devil and hell.

The other road is difficult to walk. The path is not well formed and is eroded away from centuries of pilgrims walking it. The road leads us over mountains and through rivers. There are great obstacles on this path. Weeds and thorns sting and cut our legs. We are left bleeding and sore. But we never give up hope because we know where we are going every step of the way.

Every time we are reborn, there are different and difficult obstacles to overcome, but if we reach a point in understanding of the universe we become residents in Gods houses.

I do not care if I do not get to meet a very special person, life is long and full of omens. Writing here came as an omen after years of searching. We will meet some day when we least expect it.

Wonderfully delightfull, as if written just for me for right now, making my first steps at the new path.

Seredipity. I wonder often if there truly are “chance” encounters. I was thinking of Mr. Coehlo’s books last night and thinking of how much I wanted a guide, a teacher and how I felt flat after my initial surge of energy feeling I was on the right journey, “path”. How incredible today’s posting is, I will put it to much use.

we all are walking the path,i feel life is the path…

Do you think it is wise for young people to choose their paths? Honestly because so much changes in the world, or do we just change with the world? I am 22 and I am figuring it out, but I still am not exactly clear about the path I should choose. I ask my heart, it replies, but my heart is also not clear. How old were you when you choose your path Paulo?

9. 9 Harmony

“Honor your path. It was your choice, your decision, and just as you respect the ground you step on, that ground will respect your feet. Always do what is best to conserve and keep your path and it will do the same for you.”

This point leaped into my consciousness…I can see I have been living in angst with decisions…I was so afraid of making them. And when I did, I was fearful of the consequences.

But if I honor the path, respect the light that shines there, step forward knowing that each step is met with love, support, strength and favor flowing back into my legs, I will be empowered me to take the next step and make the next decision. I need to learn to love my decisions and the process of making them.

Once again, I am grateful. THANK YOU.

hello,

I must agree this article is excellent, hit the nail with the hammer. Simply put, don’t worry about the way your neighbours lead their life, focus on yourself and how much more you need to improve in yourself. Follow the main river and don’t get diverted into smaller streams along the way!

i have actually written up the main points given today and am putting it up on my wall at home to remind me everyday!

thanks paulo for reminding us.

11. 11 Ione Lake

Even if you take a wrong path you learn something from it so I believe there is no wrong path. Each day we begin again and can choose again. Just be careful of going around and around in the same circle. Or worse yet staying in the same place. Then there is no learning. There is often pain in the lessons. Don’t be afraid.

12. 12 Shreyasi

Wow…I was just mulling over and over my cross-roads and the path that my heart has asked me to take. I was almost questioning my heart. This post, Paulo, came at the right time.

Sofia,
I think I know what you’re saying…

Would Christian fanaticism of the neo-converted be a true path? Or Hindu fanaticism? Or islamist fanaticism? Or the obnoxious combination of religion with politics that this website has begun to resemble, but does not explicitly mention and hence clarify its own “path”?
Just a mention of a steady line of flotsam on a name that is crystal and clear and one thought meant so much, till the flotsam found its way from the sewer pipes or was it always like this…

14. 14 Natalie

This newsletter came to me too at just the right time. Yes, we are always been presented with many paths to choose from but I have learnt, it does not matter which path you take. You will still be presented with the same lessons that your soul needs to learn. The only difference may be in the surroundings. As much as I know this, it is nice to just be reminded. Sometimes getting wrapped up in others paths is just to distract you from dealing with your own pains etc. It still amazes me when people say, “I have listened to my heart and it has not done me any good. So now I choose to go with my head”. For myself, my heart provides my answers, for when I listen I am more at peace with the situation. Even if it is not the one I thought was best for me!

Cassidy, I think that Paulo was 36 years old when he began to walk the path.

I was sitting having a coffee in a place called Clonmel today. I was having a rolled cigg and a very strong coffee. Accross from me there was a chruch, I began looking at everything about it. I noticed a symbol just over the door. Two hands and arms in a hand shake. I pondered on this for a while.

What are people looking for? Spirit!! It is in every chruch, the proficy of life after death, friendship, love, a higher power. It is all there. You just have to look whthin yourself and find the door to your heart and spirit.

A very spiritual man wrote to me two days ago, he is a Reverand, although I am Christian. I met him a few weeks ago when I was on the verge of unemployment, I thought that I did not get a new job, but in the end I did…here is what he said,”I am delighted that the misfortune of the job that wasn’t has been reversed. Your “journey” sounds most inspiring. Every blessing as you enrich yourself and others in your search. Another chat in anothercoffee house one day, I hope!

I also met my Master two weeks ago. The man is tired, he has heard everythng a thosand times. I felt he needed something so I told him to read “Confessions of a Pilgrim.” I’m sure it will put him on his way, if he reads it!

16. 16 Josephine (Swe)

Cassidy, he was almost forty, don’t worry! ;-)

My cousin didn’t know what she wanted to work with,
so she took a temporary job and then she travelled and
during her travel she met an old friend who was working
in a field that came to interest her. When she came
home she studied with enthusiasm and started to work
in the same field.

“Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don’t know.” - Baz Luhrmann “Everbody’s Free”

Hi,

No, I don´t think Paulo was thirty-six, thirty-nine, forty … I don´t think Paulo taked his road when he made that journey to Compostela or the Road to Santiago or whatever. He did take his road when he was born, when he was tortured, when he was so frightened that day at his house with that girlfriend (when he heard that voice in his inner) … he also did take his road everytime he decided to do one thing or another. Seems to me there is no point in looking for “interesting” or “important” events to compare your age with the age of another man or woman … because that man or woman was born on his/her path at every single moment.

So your question about “how old where you when you choose your path?” could be answer with lots of responses … He was nine years old, he was also thirty, and twenty, and … and so on my dear friend. I don´t know if this letter is correctly written but what I want to tell is that, to me, the Road to Santiago (that day or that decision) is as highly important as every ordinary day in our lifes. Every time and every day we are in our path. It is truth also that some days we cannot see almost nothing, but We, Light, are in our Path. Just be patient and try to remember Hope. There is always Hope even if you are a bit tired. Ok?

A smile for you my friend :).

Inspiring words, I agree. But when big checks are written, people sometimes do well to check the securities.

Immediately upon the birth of any thought, its opposite will appear. Hence, neither of those thoughts can be true.

So, I would understand if someone would reply:

1) There are no choices in the real sense of the word. Everything follows the laws of nature, including our thoughts and feelings.

2) Our “path” is endless. The ultimate goal of uniting all opposites can never be fully achieved within the framework of physical life. Manifestation is division of energy.

3) There is no reason why you should feel proud about your path. Everyone else’s path is just as important as yours. Work in Love (as described below), but be indifferent to the results of your efforts, because they are as links among others in the endless chain of causality and you cannot see the consequences.

4) Don’t worry about carrying the wrong equipment. Instead focus on using your abilities to manage every situation as best you can, always challanging your perspective.

5) You have no power to control your path. There is no going back or increasing the pace forward, but please feel free to try and the lessons will come and you will in fact find that you have advanced.

6) Do what you think will provide the best long term outlet for your energy. If that is to help other people, go ahead. If your energy is bottled up, your structures will break.

7) If “bad” things happen again and again, try to find an alternative way out as quickly as possible. It is not your fault when sorrow or pain strikes. It can and will happen even if you are doing your very best. But in many cases you can escape a difficult situation by using your abilities to the max.

8)If you fail to see some obstacle, and choose to rely on someone else’s advice, you might end up in dificult circumstances. However, from that experience you might learn to try harder the next time. That might be the difference between failing or succeeding at a later point in life that you will perhaps consider crucial.

9) Don’t feel bad about complaining now and again. That is sometimes a good way of ridding yourself of destructive thoughts. If you don’t like the winter, use your abilities to see if you can avoid it as much as possible. Your findings will be useful.

10) You cannot make the path a mirror of yourself. If the word “path” is to mean anything it is your interaction with your environment under the laws of nature. If you constantly get inspired by others to try something new, well that’s who you are and who knows what will come out of that?

11) Again, your path is not better or more important than anybody else’s. We all try to unite opposites, because we follow the same laws as anything else in universe. That urge to unite is Love. But don’t confuse it with your lower love for certain aspects of yourself or for any other part of the machinery. Some parts sometimes have to be replaced and destroyed for the machine to go on.

Paulo,

As I sit here and read Issue n 144 Manual for conserving paths, I am becoming filled with a great amount of excitement; lots of emotions are being stirred inside, I get a little overwhelmed when I think of all the lessons I will have to learn and I also become filled with joy when I think about the ultimate reason why I made the decision to choose my path.

I knew 2007 was the year for me to decide which way I would take because I had arrived at the crossroad in my life. I still am excited about this year for I brought in the year giving thanks to God with prayer singing, dancing with 3 close friends of mine. I proclaimed this year and I must say this journey this path that I have chosen is filled with lots of joy, excitement, lessons, great battles, oh yes, I do reflect on the battles that I had to fight in the past getting to where I am currently and I smile for they were great.

I enjoy this journey in life this path and my future paths that I will take for I think of the wonderful things (lessons) I can pass down to my son and others. My heart is filled with love at this very moment.

A nice companion of mine told me that I had a life altering experience during the week of March 19th. I must say he is correct! My trip to Spain confirms what I prayed for in the beginning of this year. It confirms what was in my heart.

I like how you informed on “don’t get too used to anything. Neither to the hours of euphoria, nor to the endless days when everything seems so difficult and progress is so slow. Don’t forget that sooner or later an angel will appear and your journey will reach an end.” I must admit I do love those long lasting moments of walking in pure love (euphoria), it makes it hard when I hit difficult terrain on my path. I also give thanks for great moments and the difficult moment because it makes me into the warrior I am supposed to be.

I try to make my path like the book I would love to read or write…… that way I can truly love and cherish every step of it to the end

Thank you for the lessons

Marie AKA (Bright Light Warrior Nika)

The path is difficult
But thats what is life
It is a bitter medicine the patient needs
to heal the tortured soul!!!

21. 21 Aditya

HI Preethi!

The path is difficult sometimes, but it is joyous mostly. it’s not a bitter medicine always, only when ‘the patient’ needs it.

hope u don’t mind.

AVC

U write “Immediately upon the birth of any thought, its opposite will appear. Hence, neither of those thoughts can be true” Would u elaborate please r u speaking out of your expereince or philosophically. Suppose a thought comes “Non-violence and mutual respect is the road to world peace” what can be the opposit thought. Let’s not get too much entagled in any theory including the theory of opposites. There are situations / expereinces which have no opposit like the joy of a fully detached action. There is no need to feel proud about anything, but there is every need to be able to take pride in very action of ours, in our dignity and grace. while being proud is in relartion to others, enjoying a sence of pride has nothing to do with others.

I think your interpretaion of making “your path a mirror of yourself” could not be unedrstood by me. What i gather is that whether we r aware or not we are always on the path, as Vishesh said Life is the path, better to consiously choose our path, in doing so we automatically make our path a refelction of ourslves. U r both wrong and right when u say there are no choices, u have a choice over action but no choice over consequences.
regards :-) ;-) :-)

Cassidy, Paulo, Marie, Harmony,

I am 38 years, Cassidy. I have such an enjoyable job, people who are meaningful in the office, comfortable pay. This year, in June I too have decided to travel my own path. A path that I’ve thought of since I was 15.

I wouldn’t say that I had been on the wrong path all these years. One thing led to another in my journey and here I am now. On a crossroad. Without too much time thinking about which path to take. I decided. That feels liberating.

Cassidy, don’t worry. No one has to think too hard for these. Your universe will always be there to guide you, if you look out for the omens around that are sent for you.

Hi Paulo!

I was really needing to read something to let my soul more beautiful and stronger today… Thanks for the 11 pearls!
I’ll try to use this necklace more often…
This text is like a jewel to me, really precious!

From my heart to yours, thank you!
One more time, thank you Paulo!
God bless you for that!

dear paulo ,
i have been waiting for something like this. something to consult in times of need. i may not be able to just pop up next to you as many times as i want for then nothing would be a challenge and we must learn from our mistakes. i think a lot of us have been waiting to consult you on this matter and it is as if you knew that.

thankyou paulo you have helped me take the first step and i have passed the cross roads
before this i had consulted your books for advice and it seems that you have taken it one step further , for many people including myself , your words are the spade , the rake and the penknife. thankyou for these wonderful tools

mr. coelho,
once again, in absolute agreement with every word spoken. it has helped reaffirm that the track i’ve chosen at various stages of life couldnt have been wrong.

paths, choices, decisions….all are taken with a prompting of the inner voice. these junctions are never meant to be smooth transitions and the turmoil within becomes soul-stirring. this only adds to the strength of the person.

the thought that every step taken forward could only have been with the guidance of God, makes it even more reassuring.

thanks for soothing the bewildered heart….

29. 29 rion

Aditya,

I do not agree with you at all. I donot believe that religion or politics should ever go together. It leaves room for fanaticism which opens the door for atrocity all in the name of the god in charge. Yes, Infinity was harsh, but history has proven time and time again, mix religion with politics and the result is war. Look at our world now! How much of the fighting in our world is over who’s god is better or right! Everyone’s path is their own, and none is better or worse then the other. It is the choices we make in dealing with each other that make them right or wrong. But hey, It is all good, no one ever said we would all agree. We all have a right to our feelings and our opinions.

am glad to be here with all of u guys..
just to support what u said.. i think all of us have already knew his or her path .. BUT we all need to remind ourselves about it.. regarding to what Deepal did, i will also put these precious points up on my wall at home to remind me everyday..
best wishes 4 all ..
thank u COELHO ..

31. 31 Ione

I also agree religion and politics should not be together. Once the state uses religion to rule over people freedom is gone. In the USA the christian right is trying to take over our government. Separation of church and state is in our constitution but they would like to change that. I will never let anyone tell me what to think or how to worship.
Ione

32. 32 Aditya

Sure Rion !
we have a right.
Perhaphs I should have once again added “religion of Christ not church” when I said about politics getting guided by religion. U r right about history, whenever there has been a mixup, result has been painful, but that was because the religious isntitutions which got involved were just another political front. Think what religion means to u, benovalance, care for others, love; do u see any harm in politics getting guided by these principles.

AVC,
does it matter as to what I think. I have never tried to compare what I know with what u know, all my quest is to keep on refining what I know, sometimes during discussions I have to take a stand / view so that by your response i can know better.
Cheer UP ! ;-)

paulo,

thank you for publishing this entry. i am filled with awe like many others. i am a “new hire” at this company and sometimes i wish i had the same “path” as this college friend of mine. i remember back during my college days really wanting to work in the company i am now because doing so, i believed back then, would bring enormous credibility to my chosen vocation of engineering. now that i am here, i feel a bit betrayed by my inner voice—the company is not what i had imagined. the company folks are “tribal” and information here is a priceless as water in a desert (the tribal folks being the desert); it takes an gargantuan amount of patience to deal with the tribes-men as you always have to think of novel ways into coaxing the information you need.

since i read your entry, i realized that i should respect this path i chose. this is my choice, i will live with it. and if needed, fight for it.

34. 34 A.V.C.

Aditya and others,

The beauty of the sun that suddenly dawns on the awakening warrior can be completely overwhelming.

It is truly an amazing experience.

However, it is not the final experience. It stands only as the marker of a very long and difficult but extremely exciting and rewarding road. He will see the sun set and rise, again and again.

Truth is unity of origin and can thus never be explained, because the words divide it up into lower units of non-truth. Hence, I believe that the only “explanation” of truth that one can give to anyone (if indeed one would dare to claim to have found it), is by the example of living one’s life in the way that One Wills, in Love.

I do not think that it is possible to draw a map to light or create an elixir of life that can be applied by or prescribed to everyone - attempts to do so have resulted in many dark moments of this world as noted by several others on this forum.

But anyone can draw that map and create that elixir for himself, because he alone is able to find out where he is and where he Wills to go.

35. 35 Rom Dhao

Dear Mr Coelho,

since our first “contact”, we feel deeply inspired by your wisdom and our community of the “Warriors of the Light” likes to thank you again for the “illumination” of our path.

sometimes you can find similarities in very differant things. the passion fruit for example is like the path. as it grows , it neeeds care with tools. as it grows , you are not certain what will happen to it or how it will grow. as you struggle to maintain it and care for it , you one day find the reward , hanging from the branch. as you bite into this passionfruit , it is at first sweet , but then turns bitter. this is a reminder from nature that all good things must come to an end. but as another one will grow were it once was , this is a reminder that good things will always come to people who struggle to find there way.
paulo,

thank you for publishing this entry. i am filled with awe like many others. i am a “new hire” at this company and sometimes i wish i had the same “path” as this college friend of mine. i remember back during my college days really wanting to work in the company i am now because doing so, i believed back then, would bring enormous credibility to my chosen vocation of engineering. now that i am here, i feel a bit betrayed by my inner voice—the company is not what i had imagined. the company folks are “tribal” and information here is a priceless as water in a desert (the tribal folks being the desert); it takes an gargantuan amount of patience to deal with the tribes-men as you always have to think of novel ways into coaxing the information you need.

since i read your entry, i realized that i should respect this path i chose. this is my choice, i will live with it. and if needed, fight for it.
hello patrick ,
i think that you have a valid point , and that sometimes when we get to one of our goals , we look at it and it is not what you expected it. but this is because your path is not complete and that we may have reached a check point , but we are not finished. just dont regret it when you think your path is over , because it may not be.

Ione !

I understand the reaction that has got programmed into our pschy the moment we hear the two words ‘religion & politics’ togather, the memories of Inquision, of the unholy wars fought ( and still being waged) in the name of religion is fresh in our collective consciousness.

Religious institutions of the past have exploited religion in pursuit of power, perhaps it was HIS will for those times.

Politics based on principles of religion will be more beneficial to the common masses. what r those religious principles, is it not putting the other person before u. In my village I have seen the ladies of the house go hungry because the food that was left for them had to be given to some ‘fakir’ ( muslim saint / begger ) who happned to come to our door at that time, even though we r hindus.

If u r or have ever been religious u will know. afterall what is religion - amongst many it is something which brings tears to your eyes . tears of joy. the 5 star variety of releigion that is preached by the church and even most modern day gurus is, well, just business and politics. and its worse becuse the deceit is more subtle here.

PEACE

AVC Hi !

Thanks for your promise, it is soothing. I am contemplating what u have written. as is the custom first let carryon with thsi game of one upmanship. :-)

U say “I do not think that it is possible to draw a map to light or create an elixir of life that can be applied by or prescribed to everyone - attempts to do so have resulted in many dark moments of this world as noted by several others on this forum.

But anyone can draw that map and create that elixir for himself, because he alone is able to find out where he is and where he Wills to go.”

Its not the attempts to draw the map which has resulted in all the trouble, teh cause of the ‘trouble’ has been the attempt to force it on others.

It’s everyone’s duty to draw that map for himself ( one owes oneself that much at least ), and more it’s everyone’s duty to share his map with others, share, not force. And prefarabely it should be a free sharing not for a price. I am not saying if I am right or wrong, but this is another view point ( other than yours ) that’s all.

:-(

I agree religion in it’s pure form is beautiful. People put layers and layers of rules and make a mockery of the pure form. Jesus came to put a stop to that and said love is the only comandment. Then they worshiped him but did not follow his example. I speak of Jesus because that is the religion I was taught. I think all religions have God’s love at their core the rest is man made.
With Love,

Hi Aditya,

I hope I have not offended you. My intention was only to point to the fact that there are always two sides to every coin. I think that it is always sound to question authority, Mr Coelho included.

I also want to repeat that I respect your opinion, even if I disagree.

I think that your desire to share your idea of the way (your way) to the light with others, both in schools and with politicians, is very interesting. This desire seems common among the followers of many belief systems.

Do you envisage your idea being put to practice within the framework of a democratic system? To me, democracy means that a majority of people are stipulating and enforcing rules towards a minority. Sadly enough, it is even worse, because there is no way for the elected politicians to assess the will of the majority in any given situation. Both in theory and practice, this is the big flaw of the system, but no one has yet been able to present a better one. At least this seems to be the general opinion in the west.

Isn’t this fact, that even the democratic system entails a sort of “oppression” of minority groups, the very reasons why politics should never be mixed with spirituality? Many people feel that certain fundamental human rights should be safeguarded not only against dictators but also against the fictional will of the majority. This would include the right to freely choose one’s way of exercising (or refraining from exercising) one’s spirituality.

Sorry for my lengthy posts. I will take another break.

Hi AVC,

Buddy, I was a little afraid that u might take offence, but as u have shown, as wols we mean each other well. I am in full agrrement when u say that there are two sides of any coin, in fact there are as many sides as r the observers, but yes basically there r two sides, and one must not beleive anything, unless one’s heart gives the go ahead. right sir ! these very guideleines have helped me and continue to help.

U r right, we r not mature enough to allow religion and politics to mix, as yet. Ceratin basics elements which are common to all religion may be segeregated and be gradually introduced in politics, specefics may be beyond my present level of unedrstanding & efforts.

But introduing ‘a period of silence’ ( it’s highly relgious & totally non controversial ) is ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE NOW.

i don’t know if u r aware of S curve. If we allow bacteria to grow in a food abundant environment it follows a s curve. Growth stagnates once resources become strained.
For us humans, resource crunch is real, in the first place there was no need to exploit the resources so mercilessly.

We r going faster and faster but to where, few r aware ?

I am trying here & there, pray !

regards

aditya

As much as I love this blog, at times I’m scared to read it because it always makes me think and realize things that aren’t easy. This passage is exactly what I needed to understand right now. Thank you.

I just finished reading The Devil and Miss Prym. Then I came to this site for the first time. I am 42 years old. This year i keep noticing that my concept of “myself” has changed or shifted. I found that way i see and approach life has changed. I used to approach life with awe, trust and pure joy. This is not pulsing as strongly within me. I feel that my daily struggles and my past experiences are starting to tarnish my outlook. I struggle to keep the enthusiam for the simple daily things. Sometimes, the struggle and past experiences make me feel wise or enriched with some knowledge, but that changes that simple youthful outlook too. I am a bit sad that i can not fully regain this person i was and reading this entry helped me to realize that i must continue to change and continue to become something else. Thank you Mr. Coelho for your writings. It has helped this woman reflect a little more kindly and optomistly on herself.

The loneliness of the light student
Although I’ve been on the road for a long time, I finally have a feeling, it was all leading to this moment when I have become united soul, mind and body. I have felt this at the deepest and highest of my being. I’m writing this on this site as noone around me talks the way the bloggers on this site talk. I didn’t say think because there are being that just know how to BE and others, like me, who have to go through many apprenticeships.
I was in hospital yesterday for a small operation and was supposed to leave 4 hours later; but the doc punctured a vein and I was hemorraging and they kept me overnight with a distinct possibility to open me up. In fact, the vein that he punctured was hurting just a bit but I decided to work on it with Reiki and it collapsed. I was wondering there why this was happening to me as I’m seriously looking into Reiki; so, I thought to myself ‘you are no way ready to help others with Reiki’. I then called a lady who makes prayers and that really helped. So, I thought to myself’unconditional prayer received from a good soul to which we confide ouselves is right in these circumstances’. When I got home this morning, I did a Yi King to understand what had happened and i said that we couldn’t walk alongside God but were his assistants. What a lesson. So, I bless what has happened although I couldn’t do that on the spot.
Thank you to all for being who you are as I feel less lonely even when I’m expressing myself on this blog and thnk you to Paolo for his words on the path.
Wish you a beautiful path.

Hi janet,
From personal experience, periods of shift are a disconcerting but one day, during a walk in nature, you suddenly will find that joy and fulfillment is with you again. In fact, it will be a moment when you will not be in your mental/mind but somehow connected to nature and/or theuiverse. Start by letting go of expectations and regrets and don’t be intellectual about the process.
I wish you a beautiful reunion with joy.

Dear Rom Dhao, dear Paulo,

we, the “rocaris” like to express our greatest gratitude:

The angel says: Spread your wings and fly, as far as you can, as far as you wish.
I will be there to guide your way, so you may achieve what you wish.
Make the dream come true, now is the time,
You have the treasures of wisdom and the power within.
The doors will open one by one, balance will be restored, and the judgment will come.
So fly and don’t look back, the journey ahead is beautiful, and destiny is in your hands.
Light your light and spread it all over the world.
The world is waiting for you to make the angels dream come true.

The “right” path for me is the path of the rocharis, the warriors of the light. It isn’t a comfortable path, but it is a commitment to mankind.

The light of the divine is with us.
