Stories & Reflections
What do you think about the Brazilian writer, Jorge Amado?
Jorge Amado, in my opinion – and in the opinion of most of the Brazilians – was the father of modern literature in my country. He was capable of describing our soul in such a vivid way that today, when we want to describe ourselves; we normally use the works of Amado to help us. Besides that, he was a close friend of mine, and at the beginning of my career, he supported me a lot with actions and words of encouragement. When he died, I wrote an article about him that it was published worldwide.
