The Dream of God

Dear readers, rather than asking you a question I would like to ask your opinion on the following subject.

The Toltec, a pre-Colombian culture, stated that we are a dream of God. We can also be his nightmare and what distinguishes the good dream from the nightmare is our presence in this world. In a way, fulfilling our personal legend brings us closer to the good dream of God.

Yet many don’t do that and they blame others for this frustration: they put the blame on their family, on their boss, etc… Of course, all these excuses prevent us from doing what can truly fulfill us.

So, share here your opinion on this issue: where is society heading to? Are people fulfilling their personal legend or do you think that – on the whole – people are still paralyzed by the fear society infuse in them?

You are so famous and well known that you have many agents, who directs your logistics. Do they have any influence on your work, on contents of novels? In which field of your work you let them influence on you? Are you the one who determines the title of the novel? Is the lawfulness of market that, what limits you by an volume of your work, rhythm of publishing?

I have only one agent: Monica Antunes. We have had a profound bound for over 20 years and we grew together, we walked along the path. She has been my ally & my friend. I don’t know where I would be today without her support and dedication.
She helps me when it comes to dealing with the publishing houses but has no say in the creative process. This, of course, includes the title of my books.
I maintain my independence regarding, as you say, ‘ the laws of the market’. I can’t think of this when I’m confronted with the necessity of writing. I first and foremost write for myself.
Once the book is brought to life, it’s normal that I turn myself towards others in order to present it to the world: my agent, the publishing houses, the booksellers. This chain brings me to the hands of my readers: the harbor that welcomes my dreams and questionings.

What you would do when you will know that your life will end after 5 day?

So far, I lived my life fully, I made my mistakes, but I honored the miracle of being alive. I it happens that I will die in five days, I would change nothing that I do except, of course, for making some phone calls to say good bye to people that I love. Other than that, I would like to die alive because I know people who already died but they still behave like living people. They died because they allowed their dreams to be destroyed.

The difference of a dream and an obsession

How do you distinguish between a dream and an obsession?

Quote of the Day

By Paulo Coelho

The heart never suffers
when it goes in search of its dream,
because every moment of the search
is a step towards encountering
God and Eternity.
